semantics... when we are nitpicking about what "me" is, or what the journey looks like for the inside being or witness or authentic self.. It's different for everyone... enlightenment means bringing to light... and yes i agree that being really genuine with whatever actually IS is the most powerful thing... the most... beautiful thing.. to be that 'me,' that Self of whom ramana maharshi speaks... not trying to hide it... not trying to explain it or cover up your true motives.. trusting yourself... and that kind of brings you right back to square one... like the baby phoenix who has just burned up all its past actions in the fire of.. enlightenment.. if you'll excuse the word... and yet maintained it's unique individuality, it's core essence, it's soul... but been reborn... and is now a most authentic little innocent vulnerable immortal powerhouse phoenix baby again... so the cycle continues...i find when i finally admit all my **** to myself I'm free. So the two shadows of Scorpio (the Mega ones)Are cast by the two lights of Scorpio right? The shadows are.. power games... and comparing yourself to others. They're kind of similar. Thing is both are totally unnecessary for the realized authentic Scorpio... because you don't need to prove innate power. And you don't need to compare yourself if you're invested in total union merging etc. If we are all one you can celebrate everybody and be the MOST happy, the most enlightened--because you're paradoxically not comparing yourself anymore. But you're not the most--you're not happy with being the most--you're like the bodhissatva at the threshold of nirvana who can't be truly happy until everybody is so Scorpio keeps eating poison and transmuting it.. it's alchemy and healing... tonglen is a Scorpio thing to do. Scorpio as pure essence (which none of us are by the way) isn't exactly fulfilled by finding out things about its own ego either.. the "I am me" thing...it's a beautiful thing.... but that's the kicker. As soon as there's an ego clinging to the 'me' I'm trying to destroy it! Or... transmute it... sometimes acknowledge embrace and love it.. it is after all part of the authentic Self... and like... Of course i can be a person (ugh)... but i am happier when i can identify with something else... The more it's about 'me' (separate me--ego me) the more miserable I actually am... it wants release from the ego, Scorpio. It wants union. It wants merging. Scorpio is loyal and deeply into long term relationships because they truly know how to merge themselves... truly to do that. This sign is about the death of the individual self. So says Isabel Hickey. And she's right I think. After Libra it is the first of the transpersonal signs... it's a crucial thing... this death... so we can be reborn and travel outside our limited little self-box into sagittarius land. IP: Logged |

The only time I've seen it was my father after his first brush with death. After that he was still sort of fked up imo. Years later, when he knew he really was dying, he really tried and before his death he managed to do some decent things. In the end he didn't turn into a phoenix by any mean, but in my eyes, sort of decent. I appreciate the effort. I could have been a little more cynical, but I think perhaps because it was my father, I was willing to believe that he actually wanted to feel and to "fix" the damages that he caused. I can't tell how they do it differently, compared to non-scorpios. There are other scorps I know. Some seem to struggle with themselves, some don't. But that happens to a lot of people. So I usually let them be and don't pry.
