Only reason why I spend my time on this forum is to try to actually find others to talk astrology with and at the same time learn from what others have found and learned also.

It still just seems so hard to connect.. I think I'm done here. I'm over expressing myself with no sort of gratification or feedback satisfaction, I think I just need more. what's the point

There are some hidden gems deep in this forum, I'll remember and cherish them. <3

Sorry to hear that you seemed like you knew a lot about astrology so it was nice to have you here, i loved reading your posts. You more knowledgeable ones should have had your own "vip" area somewhere on here and away from us that aren`t as knowledgeable maybe you would have gotten a more satisfying feedback then but unfortunately its not like that (i think) I hope you come back one day and find what you are looking for though. Peace out fellow VenusPlutonian ✌🏿

I did not know you felt this way and imagine a lot of people didn't know either. I will keep this in mind moving forward, I feel bad now and hope you stick around longer to give others and I a chance to connect more with you.

We never really talked but my impression is that there are two things here. One is not finding the material you need to expand your knowledge astrologically speaking, and the second is not finding the connection in communicating with others here...
I have this feeling that if this was only about not receiving some needed factual data, you woudn't have posted this...
And I can definitely relate to the second part, the feeling of not being able to connect to people, regardeless of time and words spent. I don't mean on this forum, but in general.

I think sometimes there is just a wall between us and others and that prevents the connection. Even if it's from glass, and you can see through, see the message, but it still prevents us from feeling it.

This is just an impression, inspired by your post, I felt I needed to express it

Its cyclical. I also sometimes avoid Linda-land when threads such as "What aspects of a person makes them not like wearing underwear?" pop up

I think the one thing that you should note is that there is a vast range of ideas floating about and a number of people with differing intentions on here too.

If you do post something and are curious about the answer, once you sound desperate or "intense" about it. Few will respond(if any).

I am grateful for whatever rendezvous I get from anyone as I learn a lot form sharing. But I also know that not everyone is interested in my thoughts and not everyone thinks me "profound" . Have had some truly humbling experiences to back that up

In many ways, you become the student and then the teacher. And one is never really sure when the tables will turn and with whom they will turn on.

I try to keep expectations at a low while interacting on the webs. Overexpressing is most definitely something my Leo ASC likes and I don't really care if I get a response or otherwise

Are you looking for more personal interaction or deeper meaning to the responses you receive? Some people can't convey their feelings through words..

I feel the same way. A lot of regular posters only reply to each other.

It's not just on this site, either. I noticed a lot of astrology site posts go unanswered.

I'm not going to reply to most posts because I am just a novice trying to figure out what aspects mean.

Ami does help out with her "The Ten Sexiest Astrological Placements" type threads.

You should jump right in. The water is so warm and bouncy .I love "newbies"

I don't know where the heck I got my confidence from but I started shooting threads right when I hit the ground running....

But honestly, don't ever feel that what you contribute is "stupid". We all never tire of learning from every perspective. Particularly me

This is the sort of message you should have expressed sooner not once you have made up your mind about leaving. That is been assertive, expressing your needs openly so that people can then be more responsive towards your needs but just saying this with the intention of leaving is more passive aggressive I feel and I doubt that this is your intention but want to point out the difference so you are aware of it.

I remember that one!

I THINK a few are actually posted as jokes (perhaps even mockery at LL), but even when they are they still get serious replies. Like a recent one about how the signs took a dump (seriously), I was sure that one was half-joke, half-mockery, but I think some replied seriously (others were snarky, having fun with it themselves).

^^She is not a real astrologer. She once did an entire article about 'the Sun-Venus square aspect.'

Once it was brought to her attention no such aspect exists, she went in for the jugular.

Yep, Mars-Moon all the way, her.

I've been around here for, OMG, 10 years.

What I liked about this place was that it was free and open. I came here from node-o-rama and that place was Saturn-depressing, with little room to maneuver.

A lot of the astrology discussed on this site is speculative, with next to no supporting evidence. Also I believe most posters are quite young, and also ESLers. This may have caused the more serious students to take a step back.

Also, one of the most popular fixtures around is a 'wolf in sheep's clothing.' A pugnacious, emotionally unstable person with very little astrological knowledge or talent. It's heartbreaking to see the young ones quote and reference [this person].

Thank you. That is very sweet! I love people to discuss things. That is how we learn. I am here to learn from the people who have the placements and know people with the placements! Isn't that the point of coming on here

I don't spend much time here, anymore. I I usually quickly respond to something, or someone, and am not in the mood to really dig into something. I've been here over fourteen years, and am depressed, but I used to try to help people to feel welcome. I'm sorry that some don't. I don't always feel welcome myself.

I've been around forever, and my threads don't always receive that many responses, either. This was one I was thinking about earlier: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/233164.html when the subject of personal growth came up.

I think that every format has their own use. A book/ course, or whatever more complex source of knowledge has its use, and a forum has a slightly different one. I think it's unreasonable to expect that a discussion in a thread about a certain planetary aspect will be as exhaustive, "serious" and full of compressed information as if it were part of a more complex study scenario.
I sometimes also feel that I would need to write 2 pages to express all the shades of what I want to talk about, but I guess this is not the place. I do feel like sometimes people ignore longer posts, but sometimes I do just the same, I have to be honest, so who am I to judge.

About the lack of supporting evidence, I see a forum as a place where one could gather subjective information, from various sources, and then it's their own job to connect the pieces to their own understanding about the subject. You don't get this from where everyone only talks about serious objective data (I personally do not believe in objectivity but that's another story).

Sure, there is BS everywhere, but as you said, the atmosphere is free and open, and this is what I like here, but I'm pretty new.

I actually like the fun part of it, if this would only be for "serious students" I would run away screaming.

Btw, who is the person you are referring too in those brackets, now you made me curious.

Like anywhere in life including school and with the media you have to utilize your own critical skills and instincts and be able to separate valuable information from average information and just plain false information. People also need to have a sense of humor and know what posts to laugh at, which to take seriously and which to take with a grain of salt.
