Has anyone experienced Saturn transiting their moon?

I'm starting to feel the effects of this and my mood has severely plummeted. It's gotten a lot harder to see the positives in life and difficult to get out of bed. There's no logical reason for it except Saturn transiting my moon. I was thinking of going on anti-depressants but can drugs really help you through a transit?

I should note here that I wouldn't even consider meds if this depression wasn't deep. I'm so low that it hurts PHYSICALLY.

I'm sorry, Saturn transits really suck to the personal planets. Luckily after a while you get used to the hum drum of it, but at first it can be crippling.

I experienced T. Saturn square natal moon about 2 years ago, and it was literally the longest I was ever without seeing my mother, she moved out of state for a year, and it sucked.

Right now I'm experiencing my Saturn return, plus T. Saturn opposite natal Venus, it is awful transit. All my insecurities are presented to me close up and I'm so hard on myself, I am almost suicidal. Fun times...

Vertiver is right ^^^ It's crippling at first. I just went through my Saturn return while it simultaneously squared my sun. I remember when it was conj my moon though, which was before I began to study astrology. I ended up on anti depressants because of the pain I was in. The thing is, you're going to go through its lessons regardless of whether or not you medicate. I no longer believe in the pharmaceutical industry. Biggest sham of the century. There are lots of good herbal supplements that can help and excersize. Right now I'm going through the square to my asc and I took hold of it with diet and exercise before it found a will of its own to manifest. Look for what you need emotionally that saturn is trying to restrict.

I don't like to see people using anti-depressants, but if you are feeling suicidal, I guess it's the only alternative. Otherwise, just go through the feelings, use natural supplements, increase your exercise, moving your body generates endorphins which are natural mood elevators, pray, see a therapist, wait it out. This too shall pass.

Saturn hard aspects to Venus, moon, jupiter or neptune take the cake in term of hardest time in my life. Hands down. I think it is probably worse if you are a Jupiterian or Neptunian type. Those have the hardest time with Saturn adverse transits.

If you are a Saturnian type, someone with heavy Capricorn or Aquarius planets, then Saturn transits can be a breeze. It's just more of the same energy you are already used to. In fact, I have seen people like this get married and do significant things during that type of transits.

And Saturn transits can get better as you get older. Being older, you have less illusions, so there is less for Saturn to take away when it hits you.

Saturn square moon. I am 2 months in and not looking foward to the next 8 months. I was very depressed months before this transit and now i'm back to being myself again. I'm working again and it's been busy! I hope it continues this way because I cannot handle anymore sadness.

Oh, and you take those anti-depressants if you feel you have to. They are helpful in many ways. Some people don't get better with meditation and "herbal medicine". Only you know your pain.

Saturn in Sagittarius is sitting on my 3-planet conjunction of Sag Jupiter-Neptune -Sun and trines Asc in Aries.

It is painful! The thought patterns tend towards melancholy and a general feeling of "Whats the point?" abound. Very tough!

Some days are better than others. It seems to help to talk it out or just cry about it.

Criticism takes a toll on me and since starting this new job, my level of tolerance for being demoralized is very thin. I don't know if I will last.

I thought I was done feeling this crabby when Saturn was on my Venus in 2014. Guess not

The positive side is that I may finally be closer to discovering what it is that I want from life. To be very clear and decisive about what I really, really want

There seems to be less energy and spirit left over to fool around- as if there is an unspoken time limit and "end point". It's like the universe says "pick one thing and it better be something you commit to wholeheartedly"

Sometimes its hard to maintain detachment as thoughts become feelings and feelings become thoughts etc.

Saturn works from a tangible , real, solid , real-time level.Pluto works from an underlying psychological one. There are things that I will end up doing before this transit is over-maybe even become an entrepreneur?

All in all, sorry for rambling but what I really wanted to emphasize is that I feel you, I really , really do.

And all talk of astrology aside for a moment. But if you need to off load- I am willing to play the couch doctor. Because I could use some Cronus therapy too so perhaps we'll ease each other through this?

This is from a medical/psychological perspective, and a personal perspective, no astrology necessary.

I struggled with depression for a while, and hit such a low that I was suicidal. Therapy, and finding the right medication saved my life.

The key is therapy and medication combo, one medication is not going to have the same results for everyone so sometimes it takes time to find one that will work with your specific body. That's why therapy is critical, it will help you get through the times where meds won't help, it gives: coping mechanisms, correcting negative talk/thoughts, and emotion management.

Please don't listen to some of these people discouraging meds because of big pharmacy, medication is needed for times like this. You wouldn't tell someone with type 1 diabetes not to take insulin because of big pharm and the effects a mimic hormone can have on the body. So don't be discouraged from taking anti-depressants, find a good psychiatrist and talk about any concerns you have with them, and uphold the communication between you two. Your depression will not disappear immediately with the first couple of appointments, it takes time. However, you can always ween off anti-depressants if you find you don't need them anymore or they aren't working with in 3 months. I've done this multiple times, working closely with my doc.

I wish you well and luck with everything!!! Please feel free to ask me anything.

I don't think Saturn transiting your Moon means you need an antidepressant, but I think it would help if you get evaluated by a psychiatrist just to be sure.

All of this said, Saturn was conjunct my Moon by transit on September 13, 2002. Chiron was also conjunct my North Node on this day. It's possible that this was the day I was professionally diagnosed with depression, but I can't tell if the diagnosis is indicated by Chiron or Saturn.

Saturn rules my 3rd house. If I had to guess, since I have my Moon in Gemini, this transit may double the indication of a mental issue with the illness itself being indicated by Chiron.

Transits in themselves do not CAUSE depression. Transits are symbols which may point to certain themes that need to be worked through. Depression is complicated physiological function that is a result of environmental, biological, psychological influences. There are so many reasons why you may be getting depressed.

What we know fights depression:
-Decreasing stress
-Cardio exercise
-Social support
-Meditation
-Therapy
-Medication

Some of these may be more effective for one depression over another so it depends if you are going through SAD, situaional/environmental depression, clinical/major depressive disorder, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder. It's important to see a psychiatrist and a therapist to fully gage which one you could be going through

Yes! The social, physical, and spiritual life will help too! I was at my most spiritual and social when I was recovering. I have major depressive disorder, but spirituality and my support network really helped me become healthier. Eating right and exercising is always a good thing too, many people actually feel happier after exercising.

If seeing a therapist and taking antidepressants is what you need to do in order to weather this storm, I say kudos to you for recognizing your needs and taking a step towards fulfilling them.

Google CBD-oil. It works for depressed lab-rats and it works for me and many others. Theres plenty of serious research about it.
No side effects att all. When youre feeling well enough be sure to start some work out that works for you.

I searched three different scientific journal databases and found nothing of what you speak of. I did find annoying biased and not scientific Google articles about Cannabis oil. It's not going to fix suicidal thoughts or a chemical imbalance. It may help calm you down, but that's just one symptom of the many. Also, lab rats are not people, after being tested on animals it needs to go to clinical trials and more often than not is ineffective in people. I'm glad it works for you, but don't discourage someone from getting something that's proven to work over something that MAY work.

You have a know it all attitude about this subject. The poster asked for opinions. Your opinion is not the ONLY opinion. No one is saying "don't listen to these people who praise pharmaceuticals". They're giving advice. Don't stop them from giving their advice.

OP take it from someone who spent 15 years and went through several different psychologists/ psychiatrists, medications, and therapy. All while over 30+ doctors tried to tell me something was a psychological disorder. Welp. Guess what. It was physical. Finally cured it myself by changing my diet and with supplements. Now there has been new studies to suggest my disorder (which has a side effect of depression) is physical and not only that but genetic.

Science is always evolving.

According to some science is not open mindedness, once 5 things suggest to something only that one matters

i think these people like 'the ways things are scientifically done' more than they like what science aims to fulfill - gaps of understanding

I believe I have a very well informed opinion, based on facts, proven research, and personal experience. I'm a researcher, and hoping to be a health psychologist. My fiance is an MD/PHD student researching an effective treatment for a rare child cancer. The poster asked if it was okay to be on an antidepressant for a transit, and my advice was to see a doctor to determine the source of the depression and a therapist and that there is no shame in medications. Most people are suggesting natural routes that may or may not work, and I think that can be especially harmful to a person if they are in a dangerous depression. Please quote me where I stopped anyone from giving advice. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but in a medical emergency, an opinion based on scientific results and facts is the best.

Anecdotal evudence is helpful, but the OP really needs to see a doctor to get the most informed option. For 13 years I've been though many therapists and psychiatrists and been on multiple medications as well. The medical community is flawed, and the mental health institutions are very flawed too. I've had countless misdiagnosis, but I finally found a doctor that listens and communicates with me to find the right diagnosis. I'm very glad that diet and supplements helped you, but not everyone will have the same experience and that's why I don't agree with people discouraging meds, because no one really knows the OPS full condition which may be different than just depression. I have physical disorders that correlate with depression too, but it's important to get an all encompassing overview of someone's health to determine the best treatment, DO's are great at that and very helpful.

Science is a very long process. I feel like you took offense to my posts, but they are simply meant to help the OP. No need to be abrasive with me, I don't know your full situation but I am glad your depression is better, I hope the OP can find proper treatment of theirs.

If you want my, GENIOUS opinion, then don't go to a doctor. Trust your heart, and know that brain deficiencies causing metal illness are very rare, and it is mostly just your mind playing games with you and no drug can ever cure that. So just rough it out without a doc. As they are so quick to label you with a mental illness without actually listening or understanding anything you say.

About 3 years former 1/4 People in North America apparently had "mental problems".

Depression/anxiety/psychosis/etc.

1/4?? It was 1/100 for schizophrenia 100 years ago. What happened!?

Clearly whatever it was, all these people have to go on medication. They've thrived millions of years without meds, but our evolution can not withstand current society or whatever is causing mental problems. Put your brain in this unnatural state. Instead of getting happy about the things you regularily will, this medication will put a threshhold on your happiness. Watching TV used to make you 10 points of happy, now you can NEVER exceed 3 points of happiness at all.

This is clearly better for you children.

It's natural we don't get a lot of serotonin (stimulating feel good chemical) from going on a long boring walk. What!? Not anymore!! Your brain is forced to pay attention and get stimulated by things that humanity through the course of its entirety always found boring! Ding ding ding CURED!!!

There you go.

I get that because you have chosen your career path in psychology, you're going to be very biased. But have you ever read the side effects of the drugs you're recommending? Look at the inserts. I personally have heard too many stories of people committing suicide while on these drugs. Just because we have a flawed medical industry where the pharmaceutical companies lobby for all the rights and to stack the cards in their favor doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye. Natural drugs that come from nature aren't studied because you can't hold a patent on a plant. There is too much money in drugs. And there is not a one size fits all option for every patient.

I did take offense to your post because on 2 separate occasions, you knocked someone's advice and no one was doing that to yours.
