colorful butterfly,

Sun in Cancer in 10H. 10H is all right for Sun, it's the house above the horizon. Sun likes the limelight. 10H sets a good scene for it. Sun squares Moon and Pluto. Moon conjuncts Pluto in 1H in Libra. Your Sun therefore is squared by its dispositor (Moon). You are very much ruled by your feelings and emotions. Your chart gives an impression of a very extraverted airy Cancer. What a mix, right You said that you feel like a Gemini but probably what you feel like is just AIR (a mix of air signs). Your air Moon is in cardinal 1H, your air Venus (A possible chart ruler) is close to MC (cardinal 10H). Your Moon can sometimes overpower your Sun.

Your Cancer Libra square is something that is strongly felt, right? Not only because it's a cardinal houses square but also because of Cancer sign in a too out there house for this sign. You can definitely relate to the description of Cancer, mainly the bits about sensitivity and loyalty (because even though your Sun is afflicted, it is placed in 10H, you are a Cancer all right but will also feel your Moon sign strongly (Venus is further making you feel like air sign rather than a water one).

If we look at Pluto square Sun square alone, this is something that makes you more watery, it's the energy your Sun is familiar with (Pluto-Scorpio-water), so it's a 'soft' affliction for your Cancer Sun. Your Sun is supported by a sextile from Saturn and a trine from Uranus. Moon Pluto conjunction in 1H + Venus Neptune opposition will add more sensitivity to your nature. So maybe 50% Cancer. Is that about right? 50% water, 50% air...or if I have to choose then 40% water and 60% air.

Lol, I know I care about people a great deal but not so much that I lose sight of myself if that makes sense.

I have normal feelings and I can say I have the famous Cancerian moods and good God, if I get angry. I scare everyone around me, not meaning to but it happens.

MBTI wise my persosnality comes up to ESTP , it came up several things but threw help threw a forum thing it was decided this was most like me.

My sun is in Taurus in 11H. What I get sick of with the textbook Taurus description is the materialism aspect. I'm VERY anti-materialism. It's not about the acquisition of possessions for me. Quality in the few things I do care to own, though - yes! And I'm a sensualist.

I feel like I've grown into the 11th house placement though. I'm VERY introverted and my Aries moon made me pretty self-centered as a child. I remain introverted, but value friendships more now. I think the 11H placement mainly manifests as a very humanitarian outlook.

Mine is in detriment, in Gemini, and in a detriment house, the 3rd house. Also, my Jupiter has hard aspects from my Sun and Mercury!

I also forgot to tell you that my Jupiter is retrograde.

So my Jupiter is very weak.

Oh, okkk..it is quite battered. I was asking because you said that you have a horrible luck so I started thinking about Saturn. Strong Jupiter = lucky, strong Saturn = unlucky. Jupiter is a benefic so can it really give us bad luck? I would look at it as house ruler in your chart. Maybe bad luck in the area of the house your Jupiter rules, not generally bad luck? I'm asking here. Can't say that I have a concrete opinion on Jupiter/luck correlation but I do think that people with Jupiter conjucntions and trines are luckier.

Elise3090,

No sign is a bad person You think Scorpios can't be sweet and dreamy? They're human, like all other signs.

It's both my weak Jupiter and my strong Saturn that makes my luck a bit harder. But also, i can reap good rewards with my Saturn, so it's not hopeless.

CaprisiousCapricorn,

Is there a possibility that pluto rules my chart? I've always heard mercury because I am Virgo rising but I think my Moon\ Pluto must rule because of all the energy that I drawl from people, love and life are never just simple expericances although I think my jupiter is strong because I keep a good spirit about me. It's like no matter how tough life gets, I just know I am going to be ok.

No, chart ruler is the ruler of your 1H/Asc. Your Asc is in Virgo or Libra so your ruler is either Mercury or Venus. Definitely consider Venus at least as co-ruler because Libra takes almost the whole 1H. If Venus as a chart ruler is almost on your MC then what you describe makes perfect sense. With Sun in 10H and Venus on MC you have a need to be in public eye. Regarding Pluto, your Dsc in in Aries, you can view Pluto as its ruler so that could be the reason for intensity in relationships. Aries Dsc is very decisive in relationships, they want all or nothing and right now.

OHHHHHHHHH!!!!! I was always told Pisces was the ruler of my 7th house. My Cancer sun could care less for the public eye. lol

I love this thread, it came to mind today when I was thinking about Dsc/Jupiter/Venus attraction types in synastry.

I am a sun taurus, but I am not your typical taurean. I've always felt very mercurial and feisty than your standard taurus.

In answer to your questions.
1 and 3. I think my sun may be weak. It's in the 3H (Gemini), and square my Leo moon by 0.08, so that energy is being displaced.

4. The dispositor of my sun, Venus, is in Gemini, creating a double mercurial whammy on the sun. It's also square Saturn in Virgo, so lots of mixed mercury messages.

My progressed sun is also in Gemini and will be for the next 22 years - so it's a good job I like the energy!

Only other curve ball I'd throw in is my Aqua Asc. I have a really strong aqua energy - also have SN aqua in 1H, and this ties in again with the Gemini links because my Venus is trine the Asc (<1degree).

if saturn is exactly conjunct the ascendant- the native will be much much more saturnian. i dont know how it happens but it happens. you will be about 1000x more saturnian.

so maybe it would overpower the sun semi.

I agree Soren - any planet rising has a huge impact on the identity. I have a friend who has Scorpio sun conjunct Saturn and mercury in the 11th, Uranus conjunct his Sag Asc (exact), and Jupiter in the first conjunct Asc by 4 degrees.

That's a lot of mixed energy! Consequently, he has a very aquarian air - I was surprised to learn he was a scorp sun.

Stellia,

thank you for your reply. I wouldn't say that Taurus Sun in 3H is a weak Sun. It's just ok in that house, kinda neutral. But out of all the afflictions, the worst one for the Sun (in my opinion) is a Moon square, because Moon is such a huge part of our personalities. Taurus or Leo? Which one will take over? Taurus Sun whose dispositor is afflicted AGAIN by the 'worst' planet (worst for Venus because Venus is all about love and harmony and Saturn curbs it) will not feel comfortable in its skin. Then maybe Moon will take the centre stage. It's in Leo after all Sun/Moon square person always has that one eternal question: who am I really?

soren,

that might be so, but that's a different matter altogether. It's what I wrote about earlier in this thread. In your example, is it the weak Sun that lets that Saturn/Asc conjunction take over?

Stellia said that she has a lot of Gemini influence in her chart BUT had her Sun been stronger, would that change things? This is what I'm trying to find out. My opinion at the moment is that if you are born a certain Sun sign then you really are that sign. If you do not feel like one, then something is wrong with your Sun. Something like that. I don't think that just because you have a lot of whatever sign in your chart (by sign, house, aspect) that your Sun sign characteristics become less prominent. That's just not enough. But I used to think like that and for a very long time.

1.) Is your Sun weak? Is it in a weak star sign/house for Sun?
I don't know. You tell me. My Taurus Sun is in 6th house.

2) Is it kinda 'altered' by a conjunction?
Nope.

3.) Afflictions. Does it receive squares, which will weaken your Sun?
Saturn squares my Sun. I think this is the strongest aspect in my chart, but even with Saturn's reputation, I still relate to descriptions of my Sun sign. Just don't talk to me about food right now. I hate food. It's my enemy no matter how much I need it to survive. In most other discussions, however, my Taurus Sun is visible.

4.) Dispositor
Venus in Taurus, 5th house. All it does is trine Jupiter, my North Node, and my Midheaven. You'll have to excuse my chart. It's full of trines. It's also full of squares, but surprisingly, my Sun is spared from most of them.

----

Based on this information alone, I'm guessing my star sign isn't as strong as it could be, but that doesn't mean I don't notice it at all. It's definitely part of my personality.

P.S. I think there's more to a star sign than just its stereotypes. A lot of descriptions seem to ignore this.
