pokladotstars,

You've told us more about your grandfather than grandmother. Rising sign relates more to personality and how that shows over time than to just the appearance as captured in photos.

So what was she like.

It really isn't necessary for you to know Asc to see many connections between her chart and others in the family. 24-hour rectifications can be very difficult to accomplish even for a professional and when given plenty of biographical data.

Just determining with confidence her Moon sign and looking at the planetary aspects and synastries with others in the family can show you quite a lot, especially if you include the declinations.

For example, your grandmother's Moon was almost certainly conjunct your grandfather's Uranus. (But that doesn't necessarily mean her Moon was in Aquarius.)

Looking at your grandfather's chart, I'm even much less certain about my two prior choices.

Thanks everyone!

I had to ask my mom about what my grandmother was like. I knew her when she was older and my memories of her might have been skewed. So my mom gave me a better answer than I could have provided.

She said she was always helping others first. For example, one of her coworkers had payments for her car that led her to not be able to afford lunch, so every day she would pay for her lunch.

My mom’s childhood friend’s mom passed away. And she would cook egg salad for her. She would also give her sanitary pads/tampax because the girl’s dad wouldn’t buy them.

She was a hard worker. She was the oldest worker of Capital One, and received a letter once from the president of the USA thanking her. I don’t know if they were connected, I just remember she was amazed at that letter. She worked very hard and only stopped working because she developed early dementia and wasn’t able to remember things anymore. But she was in her 80s and still working.

She always liked to look nice and dress nice, do her hair, etc. Maybe it was because of her era, but she always went out of the house with lipstick on. Whenever she got her hair done she would be so happy for days.

My mom also said that she wouldn’t call her an extrovert. She was more outgoing outside of the house but then would be more subdued at home.

She was the peacemaker of the family. With my grandad being crazy half the time she would collect all the pieces. And I remember when I was a young kid who would get mad at my older brother, she would say to me, “you only have one brother, so make up with him because he’s the only one you have.”

She wasn’t super organized and clean but wasn’t a hoarder either. She had a lot of things but because she was proud of her things, in a sentimental way. For instance, she would have an incomplete set of very nice crystal glasses. She would save them, and then when she had enough money would buy the others to make a complete set. And when people would come over to the house, she would have them sitting out on the table looking nice.

She is where I get my love of astrology from. She knew everyone’s birthdays. And she would immediately, upon hearing someone’s birthday, know what sun sign they were and she’d list qualities of that sign lol.

Anyways, hope that helps!

With her daughters, there’s some patterns that might help identify.

She passed the Scorpio down for sure. One of my aunts has a Scorpio moon. And my other aunt has a full 8th house. I have a strong 8th house and a lot of Pluto aspects.

She was an aqua moon, my aunt is an aqua sun.

Either her or my grandad had cancer in their chart because one of my aunts is a cancer sun, my other aunt is a cancer ascendant, and my mom is a 4th house sun. I highly doubt my grandad was a cancer ascendant. I’m thinking my grandmother was a cancer asc for this reason.

Someone also had libra. Granted she had sun-Venus. This is a heavy pattern in my family. My one aunt is a libra ascendant. The other aunt is a sun-Venus conjunction. This aunts son is a sun-Venus conjunct and libra ascendant. And my brother is a libra ascendant and sun-Venus conjunct.

Capricorn goes with Cancer. Opposite Signs literally represent close relationships, in a similar sense that 7th House and placements do.

Polkadottars,
This Really makes me wonder if she was a Libra/scorpio cusp. Scorpio would wish to be a recluse but the Libra side is all about harmony and being seen. But in an airy manner so not attention seeking but eye catching in a demure way. Scorpios are sleuths and fantastic at seeing people as in which signs they are. Kinda like you said she was. My gma had Scorpio/aqua energy too and I really remember her love of crystalware and teacups.
You sound like you're getting close and there have been some amazing responses so you have
many ways of looking at her best fit.

An idea might be to try looking thru some image searches of rising signs of whichever
ones you decide to test.

@polkadotstars
The first few paragraphs where you describe how she helped other people screams Virgo.

The way she went about her appearance sounds very Leo.
In the picture when she was older with blonde hair, she gives off a very regal Leo look.

In her younger days she gives off more of a Scorpio/Sag mix vibe.

With a Leo rising, as I suggested before, she could have a H6 Moon (=Virgo) and she'd have a stellium in H4 (Cancer).

She loved astrology. Well, she only knew about the sun signs lol. But whenever I had a boyfriend, she'd ask what day he was born, so she could figure out his sun sign! And then she'd explain what he'd be like, lol. I guess I get it from her!

OMG I love her LOL.

Hmmm this sings very likely! My mom is a Virgo rising. And my aunt is a 6th house moon. Her son (my cousin) has a lot of 6th house activity. So I’ve been wondering where the Virgo has come in!
