Personally, I don't.

I don't really have a problem with Playboy. A lot of it is very...tasteful, well, compared to what else is out there anyway. *Shudders*

No. Nor erotica, and very little of the explicitly romance genre.

I DO have a Laurell K. Hamilton's Incubus Dreams. It was cheap, and I'm curious how much her intriguing work (that I enjoyed as a teen) has turned into eroticism as I've heard. But I've had it for over a year and still haven't gotten around to reading it.

There's very little porn or erotica that has aroused me in the slightest, though I have found some of it amusing (whether it meant to be or not) and/or entertaining in other ways.

I find lesbians who do porn for lesbians are VERY different from men who do lesbian porn for men, and I'm most likely to get off on this. But really, my imagination can arouse me far more than any porn or book ever can. Especially as I'm just not very visual (actually, it's the SMELLS that usually turn me on, if anything physical). And I also find that if done right, clothes (even covering nearly the entire body) can easily make someone far more sexy than nudity ever could.

However, I have WRITTEN erotica. I mainly got started because of male writers of erotica, especially lesbian erotica, were so...silly. And it was a challenge. Actually, a problem is that I tend to turn it into a story (so that it has erotic elements rather than being pure erotica), or as a joke (typically parodying porn & erotica itself), or I lose interest, no matter how hard I try to finish it. In any case, I've never been turned on by my own works, but others have enjoyed them, and I've even won 2 awards in one fan community for a couple of them, and have been repeatedly begged to finish those I just can't seem to find the interest to do so.

I also intend to get the movie Better than Chocolate one day, which has some very erotic elements, though I wouldn't call it porn (I'd call it a comedy).

I generally don't care one way or another about the idea of porn, though. There seem to be a lot of abuses that go on in the industry (just like other industries), and I don't care for that, and also porn is often either very unimaginative & repititious, or it tends to get exceedingly violent and/or degrading, which I also find disturbing. (While I could see someone looking at something like that out of curiosity, if I knew someone was into "rape flicks" for example, there's no way I'd be able to have an easy going relationship with him...or her.)

That said, I do enjoy a lot of essays and thoughts by some porn-active individuals, such as Susie Bright (though I ignore their pornographic elements and go for the thoughts). I'm also very impressed with Lydia Lunch, though she does go into some very dark & degrading elements that include porn.

All in all, I would not want to live in a society where Hustler makes billions a year (as I think they do now), but better that than a Puritan society. All the same, I prefer a brand new paradigm regarding it all rather than the "either/or" that seems to be the choice right now, because as it stands, I find porn AND censorship both doing more harm than good.

I don't class it as porn. But it is a good kind IMHO. It is beautiful erotic education. And I like it. And i have videos!

I love my life and the people who are part of this journey through it. I have been involved in the growth of the spirit for the past 10 years. My journey began when I realized at the age of sixteen that there is more to life that what our eyes and society tells us. My soul longed for something deeper. I spent years trying to get out of my body to be more spiritual, not realizing that the answers I was searching for were in that place where we least think to look. After study of psychic development, astral travel, energetic healing and meditation I realized that my path was not to get out of the body, but to go through it. That is when I discovered some major keys to the development of my soul. For me Dance, Tantra and Bodywork were the missing pieces to the connection with spirit. By blending the energetic work and the more body centered work I discovered my true self and how much the spirit likes to play in the body!

With this new awareness I knew that what I ate was also affecting my growth. When changing my diet I uncovered the biggest missing link Food affects your energetic system! Raw/Living Foods became my passion. I lost 90lbs, regained my zest for life and increased my intuitive abilities.

With a heavy background in theatre arts and extensive training in holistic healing I bring a unique experience to those who are ready to transform their lives . I have appeared on radio, television and on film; both lecturing and performing as an actress. I just finished a shoot with Kenneth Ray Stubbs for an Instructional DVD, Documentary and Book on Female to Female Sensual Massage. I have also performed in National Tours and taught workshops with David Wolfe, Bodhi Avinasha, Joseph Kramer, Kenneth Ray Stubbs and other prominent teachers/lecturers.

It is a dream for me to be able to blend performing arts with healing arts. My One Person Show about Mary Magdalene will be touring the country this year. For more information about my show CLICK HERE

I am currently working on a few books. I just got a contract with a major publisher to do a book on Erotic Massage for Couples which will be released in 2008, and the book about my life story is being revised to include stories of mystics who has orgasmic experiences in the face of GOD. I am so passionate about living my life to the fullest, about creating the best life ever. I use the law of attraction to bring abundance on all levels into my life. I have two home bases one in Los Angeles and one in Yellow Springs Ohio. But I am currently touring the world, teaching, filming DVDs, working with Tantra students, performing and visiting friends.TO sign up for my newsletter or to visit my website CLICK HERE This is a beautiful country in which we live and I am in awe of the mother earth.

The people in my life are those interested in creating miracles in their lives. They understand that we create our world and that together we can live in heaven on earth. We love with open hearts, we sing and we dance with joy, we play, we celebrate. We don't have time for anything other than bliss. We know who we are, which is much greater than we appear, we are love at our essence. We are divine/human beings here to bring peace and harmony to everywhere we go. The people in my life love me, ease my pain, and laugh deeply with me. The people in my life are not afraid of big transformation.

I have extensive training in the Sexual and Erotic Arts. As a Somatic Sex Educator I know that working with the body is an important key to a new way of exploring what is erotically possible. I have trained in everything from Sexology to Tantra. My mission is to bring the world into sexual wholeness both within ourselves and with each other. For me it is about true intimacy and breaking the patterns that hold us back from exquisite embodiment.

I find 70's and early 80's porn highly amusing, and fun. I like it.
I don't like porn these days. The camp factor is gone, and it's all so serious despite the obvious silliness.

I thought Boogie Nights was a great flick about porn in general.

Yes, I do have a little porn collection. I was a child of porn - meaning that was how I learned about sex, through stumbling onto porn collections lol. In some weird way, the older porn makes me feel all nostalgic and innocently horny. It's almost comforting. I find there's a sensuality to it which isn't really easy to find in porn these days.

^^^ Your post brings up a good point. Porn has gotten scary. It is so extreme anymore. I don't see how that is a turn on. Maybe it has always been this way, and it's just more accessible now. I don't know, but it's scary.

Diana, I think it's maybe that society in general is getting desensitized... there's overload of stimulation, so it's like constantly having to up the ante or something, because people are growing numb. It's kind of sad.

I agree with Diana and MVM – it has gotten so scary and, if it’s possible, even more misogynistic. I too grew up finding the secret porn stash and watching the porn with a “plot”. Are those days gone forever? Maybe with Pluto in Capricorn the sex business will go back to the basics.

I have seen a few of the celebrity sex tapes and they were totally lame but I just had to see them because of all of the talk. It had to be because of the rise in celeb sex tapes/stalking when Pluto was in Sag (yeah, that’s what I’ll blame it on).

I won't buy it but if it's around I'll have a look at it. I can give or take.

I do like erotic literature a lot though.

Playboy always have the best celeb interviews. I used to buy Rolling Stone until I worked that out.

There is no way on God's green earth I would touch the stuff with a 20 foot pole! I can't even stomach the sex scenes they have in movies.

I find one's body is sacred ground and to be kept private. I took sex education in school and know what the female and male body looks like. I don't need to keep any pictures around like that. With sex, it's a private one to one intimate affair In my own opinion and others can feel free to agree to disagree, is to be kept off film and remain private away from the eyes of the world.

maybe it's my proper mars in cappy = conservative about some things......

I always thought Playboy was excessively airbrushed. I mean, it is, right? That kind of bothers me (esp. now), feels like cotton candy or something. No substance. Sugar-spun things with no pores, no follicles. Fluffy little kittens in garter belts. I see nothing sexual about it lol.

With Playboy the women seem so... YAWN. I guess my taste has changed. I used to think Playboy was really lovely years ago. I still think the women are attractive but boring. And I guess it's short artfully... yeah, that's true.

Lol I really joke about porn O_o, maybe I have a problem but I remember stumbling upon porn with my best Aries friend and we would discuss and giggle and go "eww" and "ah"..

Now at seventeen going on eighteen here pretty soon..I yawn at porn though there is the occasional "lol she sounds like a dying cat!" *gags herself*. How can I put it..

There's just no substance, no spark, no..no.intimacy basically it's just bam wam thank you mam and the fake prolonged screeching of a raptor and the grunts of a oaf through a screen.

I rather just have it then watch it..including the horrible drooling sleep face OAO.

Atleast I can poke someone in the back for five minutes then playback that erotic scene two or three times lol.

I think that's the whole appeal of Playboy - that whole airbrushed quality. It's not really supposed to be about "real women" but the unattainable sexual fantasy.

What I can stand about Playboy is the ridiculous poses the women put themselves in. It's good for a laugh in that sense. But still, boring.

found 99% of the pics of naked women absolutely disgusting! No taste whatsoever! Is it because I'm not an American, I'm Japanese? Could that be the reason?

Maybe, just simply, that you're a woman could be the reason. It's not really designed for us. Even if I were sexually attracted to women I doubt that I'd find Playboy appealing, just from the way women are depicted. There's no femininity in it at all - it's presented from a male sexual perspective - I think, anyway. It doesn't have any real womanliness attached to it.

I think there are people who find women beautiful and I think there are people who find overly sexualised women beautiful.

That said, visually speaking, I'd rather look at a naked woman than a man. It's a more beautiful form. Looking at naked men does absolutely zero for me. Reading a joke has more sexual appeal.

i agree pa. i find the nude female form beautiful, nude men, not usually so much. i like to carve nude women and think some of my best art came from creating such. i like nude women art. i have one daughter that i think is embarrased over my nudes, and i dont get it.

porn, i could give or take. if there is a long stretch without someone in my life, i like the visual stimulation. i only fantasize about the actual lover i have, so when i am without a lover for a period of time, i utilise erotia...as to not get pent up energy.

i find playboy tasteful and not at all really what i would consider erotica.

Playboy mag was founded in 1953, when Pluto was in Leo so it makes sense that it was more about glamour back then. But they had to change to keep up with the times. Can we pinpoint when it all went downhill? Downhill = from tasteful glamorous shots of real curves to artificial and degrading. It seems like a generational thing. Although, I must say that Playboy is nowhere nearly as degrading as Penthouse, Hustler or any magazine with a colloquialism for a body part in its title.

Great question!

I don't watch or read porn.
I went to school with Larry Flynt's daughter, as some may remember, he got his start in Cincinatti, Ohio, running boobie bars.
His daughter and I have been friends for years.
In the late eighties and into the nineties she offered many times to fly me to LA and pose for Hustler.
I said "No, way um my grandparents are still alive!" She told me of the money and opportunities it could provide, but thats not a good enough legacy for me to leave behind. I'm not into it.
I bought the movie 'Wonderland' about the murders in which John Holmes was involved. I liked it, but then I noticed there was a companion disc, so I watched that too. It was a 2 house biography (very graphic) about John Holmes, that I thought was very interesting, and very sad.
I don't need porn because I have a great imagination. But I'm not against movies that have scenes of a graphic nature, if it is integral to the story.
Like Johnny Depps' 'The Libertine', the first few minutes of the movie when he is in a carriage ride with his wife, to me is hotter than any, "bow-chick-a-wow-wow" porno. IMHO.
