Who's still a tomboy at heart? In many ways I'm extremely feminine; wear make-up and mostly dress pretty girly etc. But really i'm still a tomboy at heart and prefer hanging out with the guys doing 'guy-stuff' and talking to guys. Not to say I don't like being with females and shopping etc. I just find it easier to be around guys. Maybe because I grew up with a brother. When I was younger most of my friends were boys and one of my favorite memories was catching salamanders and newts with them.Generally i'm more comfortable around men and have a better time with them. I'm really like one of the guys. They're usually much more laidback and easier to deal with - no drama or cattiness, something i can't deal with. I was thinking yesterday that having Mars & Saturn in Leo (a masculine sign) in the 7th house could have something to do with it. I wish i had more female friends though at this age they seem harder to find. The ones that are standoffish and b!tchy to me at the beginning usually become good friends once they realize i'm nice and they have nothing to worry about or i don't play into that. Can anyone else relate? I get the feeling there are a lot of you out there on LL too. And what's going on in your 7th houses? IP: Logged |

Tomboy is a girl who behaves according to the gender role of a boy.[1]This social phenomenon typically manifests itself through some of these characteristics: *The wearing of typically masculine-oriented types of clothes. *The practice of games and activities (often physical in nature) that are typically considered to be the domain of boys. *Heterosociality, the preference to befriend boys rather than other girls. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomboy _______________________________________ Yes, except for the clothes part. Though I live in jeans - girly jeans. IP: Logged |

The best part about being a woman is that I can wear lipstick and nail polish one day, then take my son camping and wear my flannel shirt and hiking boots the next day There was a real interesting discussion in the Astro forum a few years ago about tomboys having more planets in masculine signs than feminine signs, and in my case that holds true: 4 in F, 6 in M. My Sun is in a masculine sign and house, my chart ruler is masculine, and my Rising decan is masculine..... Uranus and Neptune rule my 7th house, no planets reside there. I have similar issues, T -- it's more fun to be "one of the guys" than "one of the girls." I was never ever comfortable being in a gang of girls, and the only way I hang out with ladyfriends these days is one on one or maybe three of us, usually no more. When I was young (10 or so) I ran around with a group of boys in the neighborhood -- there weren't any girls my age, so I hung out with my brother and the guys. My mother objected when she found me running around with my shirt off in the summer like the boys did, but I did it anyway I have no interest in hanging out with some women -- the ones who can *only* talk about shopping, redecorating their houses, hairstyles and similar tedious and dreary (to me) subjects..... i'm a tomboy! T, that's so funny; i always assumed you were a guy! i really find men in general more easy to relate to. i think it's because they're very straightforward and yeah cattiness and gossip drives me up the wall. it seems 99% of the women i know indulge this regularly and it just bugs me. i love women, but i find it hard to relate as i prefer to remain objective and reasoned or just silly and playful and it's easier to be this way with men. i can't endure much drama in general and i hate feeling like i'm supposed to 'side' or sympathize with the latest dramatic emotional wars girls seem to get themselves into with one another. BUT i'm also finding that most men interpret my playfulness and friendliness (sag rising) as flirting, so i get hit on a lot. i've been feeling a little antisocial for a while now because of this! i dress pretty androgynously, or maybe even more on the masculine side and almost never wear makeup. and yeah i have more masculine planets (7m, 5f). my sun and rising are masculine but my moon is feminine. i consider myself extremely feminine deep down but i don't show this to the world because it makes me feel too vulnerable. edit: but my progressed moon is entering cancer in a few days and i'm gulping cuz i am actually starting to feel a pull to feminize.. eek. Sagittarian 7th house with three planets in it.I have more masculine planets, but I do like dressing up, and always have. I grew up with three sisters, and since my dad was often away working I became my mom's default confidant. I've always had friends of both sexes.

AGMy son is my confidant by default too. I thought maybe this might be more harmful than good, but then I think, I am probably instilling some very useful insights about women, that he will come to appreciate one day. Plus he has two sisters. Not be all sun-signy, but every CAP I know male, and female, likes to dress up, and they actually enjoy dressy clothes. Even if its only once in awhile. CPN- I still send boys home crying, but its usually because I've cut them off, and made them pay their bar tabs. I would totally go shirtless if permitted! I still think that is a NO FAIR policy! braveheart puts her hand up. 6M/4Fi'm a tomboy. i was always doing boy things. sport, games, and i didn't mind being dirty or touching frogs, tadpoles and such. and i always seem to get on better with the boys than the girls. if a girl thinks you look better than her, she doesn't like you. but it doesn't matter to a boy. that even seems to apply to now. also, boys didn't talk about emotions, and that was a subject i tried to stay out of. have a nice day IP: Logged |

hey me too! when it comes to sending boys home crying, i gave the school bully what's for in grade school, and another one in secondary...and NEARLy got suspended both times! spent most of the first 15 years of my life outdoors whenever possible.i've had my fair share of makeup and feminine provocative clothing but i really hardly think about it except on special occasions or onstage... haven;t climbed a tree in awhile but squeamish is not in my resume... i am what i am! (aren't we all!) which includes a leo/virgo 7th house including sun pluto merc and saturn there, aqua first of course, but i'd say a majority of feminine planets, 4 of them mutable. my VERY aries daughter is pretty yang in her personality and used to fight at the drop of a hat! but when it comes to looks, bugs, fixing things, etc she is "all girl"...something that i find irritating because it means so much waits for a male hand (or mine) to fix it! i have never understood the catty, undercutting side of femininity...and suspected it comes from feeling powerless in so many other ways. i tend to avoid women like that...fortunately as i get older there seem to be more women i can get along with. Yes! We are so lucky! Guys cant do that. Well, some won't anyway. quote: My mother objected when she found me running around with my shirt off in the summer like the boys did, but I did it anyway
Nice. I had a similar issue as you, except i liked to go bottomless for some reason. Most of the little kid pics you would see of me i'm in my underwear and a t-shirt. My brother says all the memories he has of me as a little girl, i was roaming around in my underwear and a shirt. Tis true. Don't know what i had against pants, shorts or skirts, but they'd come right off. IP: Logged |

My chart is mostly fire & air, too, which probably helps explain some of my boyish traits, though my sun & Venus in Libra make very good use of the energy provided by my Mars in Sag to keep a clean house, cook good meals, etc. I can go from being very feminine to very boyish easily, and I seek to balance them, blending them together. No planets in the 7th, which would be Aquarius for me.IP: Logged |

Me. Well sort of. Walking home from grade school one day the crossing guard said she could see my brother up the street in a fight. I gave her a quick nasty look as if i was asking her why she wasnt doing anything about it and then snapped into fight-mode. I threw my backpack off and booked it up the street where this fat bully was on top of my brother. They were sort of rolling around fighting and when I got there I grabbed the bully by a fist full of his hair, yanked his head back and started pounding my fist into his head over and over again until my brother got free. Luckily he didnt turn on me...and i'm not sure why. But my brother let me have it. He was fuming at me. He was "just about to win" and flip him over and get ontop and wreck him or something (yeah right. okay). And now the bully and his friends were walking away but making fun of him because he "had to have his sister jump in and fight for him." I still have not lived this one down. Well, what? I'm a Taurus. I'm protective. I didnt even think about it. IP: Logged |

There was also one incident over a tire swing that I wont get into. Other than that I was pretty peaceful and not much of a fighter. IP: Logged |
