Oh God, the ending of Cold mountain. Breaks my heart everytime. The break down of Ewan Mc Gregor in "Moulin Rouge" when Satine dies. (I never cry during her actual death, but I always start when I see him breaking down). in Face Off, when John Travolta visits Nicolas Cage in jail, and just looks at him across the newspaper. Whoa! The ending scene of "Music from another room" - I know it is more than sappy. lol
When Kevin Spacey leaves the police office in the Usual suspects, and he loses his limps and all pieces fall into place. Another whoa-moment.
The first scene of Alan Rickman in the movie "Dogma"
Love actually - the whole film

Being a Libra, and realizing a lot of the great moments were because of all the surrounding elements of the flick, it's very difficult for me to think of any one scene. But given some of the other examples given, I thought I'd give out a great one for me anyway. To really appreciate this one, it helps to not only know what happens to her later on (because there's a lot of ironic prophecy here--in fact, some fans say she was actually an angel come to help Jess & other characters and knew it was going to happen from the start), but also if you've read the book (*), Bridge to Terabithia. In the book this speech is referenced and told how "Jess was there" but not described, so I thought it was an ambitious scene to actually create (since the book didn't but said how powerful it was to Jess), and that they pulled it off well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xC_DYsPS1Q (*IMO, the book and movie should be seen as different stories. Given that the book is decades old, the movie could be seen what Jess would grow up to write as a screenplay. Which isn't that much of a leap, btw, given that 1 of the 2 writers who made this screenplay was actually a boy who lost his best friend and it was his mom who wrote Bridge to Terabithia for him.) It's a Wonderful Life, is another favourite. I love the whole thing.Erin Brokovich: When they're in a meeting with the opposition, and Erin indicates that they had their water shipped in especially for them (from the town where everyone became sick). IP: Logged |

The Full Monty - this one. And then, of course, there's the last scene. I have the movie on the DVR downstairs, and am off to watch it in a minute. IP: Logged |
