Lara I TRULY mean this that you do not see HOW you insult other people. I think it is a blindness. Then, you have no idea HOW bad feelings come back on you. I would help if you would allow me. I don;t mean this condescending even though it may sound that way. I am very flawed as is obvious.

quote: sigh.i just think taking an authoritative/weeding approach is going to deepen the shizm and plenty of folks will leave on principle and NOT because they are necessarily 'siding' with those who were initially banned. i loved the freedom and laxity of lindaland.. that is what made it so appealing to me
Yup. This place actually does a better job policing itself than any mods really would. The thing about NOT banning people is that it forces people to figure out how to deal with one another. Some people inquire whether they should have to tolerate certain folks, and I get that. Very occasionally a line may have to be drawn, but it's less often than people believe. People say things in frustration that they don't actually mean, and people misrepresent the totality of who they are when limited to a single interaction with someone that opposes them. Most frequently things should be dealt with from more of a big picture perspective. IP: Logged |

Wink, I wasn't calling you an ass kisser, either. I was defending Ami to Pire.I wasn't in a good mood earlier, so I waited to say something until I'd cooled off, precisely because I could see both sides, and I said at that ever-popular FB group, just what I said here - from what I remember. I said that I was feeling protective on all sides, for different reaasons. I defended Ami on FB, as well. IP: Logged |

Last time I checked, there were plenty of Astrology discussions here. They typcally stay in the designated Forum. If anyone actually reads the Forum descriptions, this whole site is pretty much a Linda Goodman site--NOT an Astrology site. I never meant for it to become an Astrology site. That is just one component of Lindaland. Linda was a great Astrologer; however, she was about much more than just Astrology. In her own words, she didn't even want to be remembered as an Astrologer. There are plenty of Astrology sites on the Net. I think one of the most pervasive problems we have here are people who try to force the square Astrology peg into the round Linda-Goodman.com hole and who really know nothing abot Linda Goodman or what this site represents. And we won't implode; we will prosper like we always do when we have a cleansing lightning storm here. I have over 300 registrations in my box to approve for the past few days where I've gotten behind. I don't want new Knowflakes to be subjected to this pettiness. IP: Logged |

WinkAway quote: Freedom of speech is one thing but bullying is another. Randall has been more than patient with letting conversations ride and some people pushing the envelope. What he's asking is simple. Be mindful of what you post. If you post something bashing someone or labeling the thread F UCK YOU RANDALL.. well, you'll probably be banned. That's a no brainer.
but I am missing information to see what happened last night since threads were deleted I won't say I would forgive since I really have a bad temper, as you know by now, but belgz, is a colourful person, others who are mentioned in this issue are too, and arguments do happen. (I mention ass kisser because I saw a couple of person's post that weren't deleted and that were just throwing some oil on the fire) whatever we do, arguments will happen, they even happen when arguing about not arguing. plutosquared mentioned that it wasn't so bad, "not the end of the world". I guess we don't know enough eachother to accept our colourful personnalities. but for me the problem is to use the banning, it's an extreme tool. Ami Anne quote: Pire Since you like it here and want to be part of LL ,don't you feel a basic respect for Randall for providing it for you? He could easily ban you and that would be YOUR loss, not his. I think you owe him to be gracious to him is all.
I have worked in a school and I know that respect is difficult to gain, but with Randall's remote attitude, and tolerant "leeway" he doesn't have much to do to be listened to and to command respect. I do have pets, not kids, (gay!) and I walk my cats like dogs, but for that, I must sometimes tolerate that they don't listen to me straight away. that, is frustrating. that's why I am sometimes surprised that he doesn't use his power more often, when thing go alright (just to reminds us who's got the power, and also may be a bit out of frustration), but I understand he's different than me, and I appreciate his difference 'cause I learn from it. not when banning is in the balance. here the power is total, only disinterest can be opposed to this, and it's the worst thing, most terrible than anger and resentment. cause it's like cutting the branch you are sitting on, you hurt what you are trying to save. And we won't implode; Sorry Randall I wasn`t clear. Not the site but subject matter that either has too much yin or too much yang.Life has a way of correcting any inbalance.

Lara, Idon't make any money with Lindaland. In fact, it costs me money. I never asked to be number 1 on the search engines, and I really don't care how many people leave. At one time, everyone left. Yep yep! And just a year ago, our entire member database was wiped clean. Yep yep! Lindaland always recovers and grows larger. That's because we are doing great things for people--for those who open their eyes and see. I asked you who was bothering you a few times; you never spoke up. I am not trying to insult you, but I seriously don't think you are perceiving things with accuracy. IP: Logged |

I think Acoustic God has made an excellent post with an important point. I don't think you are that keen on my presence here AG but l always appreciate your common sense and ability to see the bigger picture with the detail. It's a wonderful trait that comes across as balanced as your thought process is. IP: Logged |

Re: mods calling people names. I was referring to PlutoSquared. I actually posted here, because I'd posted on FB, because I wanted to defend Ami, and because I could see that some people were genuinely looking at it from both sides, or wondering what happened. I said at that FB group, that I felt a little weird being there; I don't know if you even saw that, a couple of weeks ago. I posted here, to be fair. I don't like gossip. I don't like back-stabbing, and I've been here for eight years now. Eight years in which people have become angry for whatever reason, and left. Some come back, some form their own boards, some just talk on FB. I'm friends with a few people on there, who left years ago. *edit. And I like new people. I like you. I wouldn't have met Gypsee if I didn't like meeting new people here. Missing older posters, doesn't discount my liking new people. IP: Logged |

Ah, understood, Juni! Thanks for clarifying. Oh, by the way, I was thinking of you a few days ago. I was looking through a book you once mailed me. Do you remember which one? ------------------ "A heart of gold cannot be borrowed, bought, or sold." IP: Logged |

Ok Randall, peace. I know you are not trying to insult me. Lots of people saw who was bothering me but it's not in my psyche to tell on people. If you catch them then that would be great and l assure you, l am extremely perceptive - sometimes to my detriment If i see it again, i'll email you when it happens, ok? PEACE IP: Logged |

Just delete the repeated offenders that can't handle posting normally on a forum...There are other astrology websites that will ban you for less! I've seen it happen over just "implied arguments"... The problem here is inconsistency, in my opinion. Randall has been nice to the brats of this site, and unfortunately encouraged bad behavior... Now, some are popping up everywhere trying to find another door to get a toe-hold in... There won't be peace on this forum until EVERYONE is clear what the rules are, and clear that they will be consistently enforced. IP: Logged |

plutosquared, you know how to make your way!edited to add: love it or leave it, right!? as it is? or as it should be!? honestly, i don't want to antagonise you, but not because you are a mod, cause I couldn't care less, just because I don't know you. I usually don't get upset by someone intensity or colourful personnality, on the contrary. but I must say, if I know anything about it, that your style is abrasive and polarizing IP: Logged |

That goes for the mods too, doesn't it Fraulein? I think making you a mod was a bad move - no offence but you have enough ego already without the 'mods hat' on your head. It's off-putting and dictatorial. Plus the fact you always have to be right is so boring and immature. Just my 2 pennies. IP: Logged |

I've been a Mod for the last 48 hours, just long enough to see a bunch wacko posters flame this forum enough to bring out my "nice, abrasive" side... taking ANY polarized viewpoint is going to rouse the other side in defense..therein lies the rub. this thread will get shut down in the name of 'dissent'. i don't want to feel like i need to be patriotic to certain perspectives of what lindalind IS or ought to be. we the people make it what it is.
