LEXX, was thinking about that earlier and how it's actually a fault in a way, of mine....?

Incapable of telling a lie! Sucks! If someone asks, I have to tell truthfully and it's kind of annoying! Most of the time, would rather make something up. But it's too hard to.

Honest to a fault. Is that a good or bad habit/trait?

I feel it is!
I posted a few more but will re-post here on this page.

1.Never lying.

2.Helping at least one person a day no matter how I feel.

3.Collecting and giving smiles.
When home and out;
I try to make as many folks smile as I can!
It is amazing how many lovely random conversations one can have with perfect strangers!
I sometimes get hugs in return!

I used to. Did some time at two different shops. Could write pages about those experiences..... Wasnt my thing though, i still love the art. If people are telling you that, Niki, you probably should look into it, or at least get a good portfolio of work going on. Even if just to sell your designs.

k...running to the store before closing back a bit later..

It is the code of ethics I live by.
It comes naturally to me and even when it could and has caused me trouble; I refuse to lie. In time folks who get to really know me find out they can totally trust me.

But yes, it causes some goofy problems such as;
I go to give someone a message from another person and if I am unable to quote the person EXACTLY;
I HAVE to preface with,
"to paraphrase"
or this is "basically" what they said......
or some such disclaimer of it not being a PERFECT VERBATIM QUOTE .....
or else I cannot give the message because it is a form of lying to me.

LOL well as you know, tat guns don't come with erasers and people tend to get ****** if you mess up on them. LOL!!!!!

There are no "oopsies" in that job. Just can't happen. Helps if youve got some Virgo in you, and work well under pressure.

I did like it...certain aspects of it. But it's not something I wanted to make a career out of. Many artist end up bitter because they want to be creative and it's hard to in this line of work. It's not an easy medium to work with and completly different than working in regular ones you may be used to. You have to be in the game a long time, make a name for yourself and your work has to be superb to do what you want to do as an artist. Otherwise youre stuck having to put stupid **** on people and getting nothing for it. And that sucks.

There's more I'd like to say, but wont. I respect the serious artists in the biz and the dues they've payed.

I won't ever get close to people that have a lot of other close friends. Learned the hard way what happens then.

Good stuff.

Just realized I screwed up the title to this thread. Whoops.

Good habits I do:

- Check bank account every day.
I tend to be rather cavalier in my spending, which has gotten me in trouble in the past. By checking my account daily, I can keep tabs on what I'm actually doing. What gets measured, gets managed.

- Weigh myself every day.
This is new since I started my diet. After reading about how a guy managed his weight loss by only tracking his weight daily, I thought this might be a good one to take up. He made an excel sheet to track the progress, which I also use, and it's kind of neat because he created a graph that grabs the numbers you plug in so you can see your progress.

- Drink green tea
This is a new one as well. Green tea is super amazingly awesome for you. If you research it, you'll see for yourself.

- Natural exercise
I'll never be a gym guy. I'll never be a runner (at least I don't foresee it). I do enjoy walking, though, and now that I have an electric bike I also enjoy that (it doesn't do all the work, but it's less stressful on the uphill grade back to my house). I do quite a bit of each of these. I also make up exercises on occasion when I feel like it. Of course in summer I'll swim, too. Always loved that.

- Look at creations
With the help of Facebook and StumbleUpon I've set myself up to view new work often. I see amazing new architecture from half way around the world, I see new furniture and design pieces, and I look at artworks regularly. It's inspiring. Maybe I live a bit vicariously through them.

- Give myself enough sleep
I'm Mercurial, so it's tough sometimes, but I try to wind myself down early enough to get a decent night's sleep. I also have a CPAP machine to help with the apnea. Keeping it real. Gotta do what the doctor says to take care of yourself.

- Reduce
I don't have many bills, and I only pay one via check (and that's because I don't have to put it in the mail). I don't use mail for sending stuff if I get away with it. Pay everything online.

.......reading AG's habits reminded me of a quality I think our Virgo mooners easily carry.....

Gentleness.

While I may not be as disciplined as he or Juni, I sense some similar energetic traits within us.....?....

I try to be more like them. Stable.

I don't know if some of these fit but I'll add em anyway,

Eating habits:

If all I crave is junk food, I just give in, eat only junk, no healthy food allowed, 'til I can't take it anymore. I'll start to hear what my body really wants to eat and will be turned off to it for a long time, and when it comes back (it'll only be back for a little bit and I'll be conditioned already once to be disgusted by it) I'll know what to do. People forget to listen to what their body needs and look at food as emotional substitute, so this is a good way to shock yourself out of it, then you'll see it has no power over you. Then when you're back to normal allow yourself indulgences and you'll be fine.

Personal well being:

Do not underestimate the healing power of a warm bubble bath w. a glass of wine or something stronger! Candlelight, cigarette, fave book, your special someone, whatever, go indulge.

Complexion:

I take cold showers all year long for glowing skin (the colder the better). It's cheap and makes you look gorgeous and refreshed. Or at the very least *always* wash your face with cold water if the full cold shower is too much for you. Wash your face only at night and moisturize if you like and in the morning just rinse it off with cold water, do not buy into 'more product is better' it's not.

Mental health:

Have as many orgasms as you can, no matter if you're with someone or not. If you can't orgasm in any way whatsoever make finding out how your #1 priority as of this minute. You might be surprised all the different ways that different people can orgasm, you need to experiment find what works for you.

Get involved in art of some kind or another, cooking, painting, music, poetry, it doesn't matter. You don't even have to do it every day, but make sure you have at least one.

Here are tips about clutter that I found someplace that I try to keep in mind every day. Give or throw away anything that: you don't love, doesn't make your life easier, is not beautiful. If it doesn't meet one of those categories I cut ties. It may hurt but I feel better afterwards. Likewise when buying I try to put these into practice.

Finances:

In the U.S. order your free credit report every 4 mos from one of the major credit reporting bureaus: Equifax (in Jan), Transunion (in May), Experian (in September). You can get em free from each bureau once a yr so stagger em and you'll always be on top of possible identity theft or reporting errors.

I never tell people how much I earn. Ever. Don't even make it an issue.

**If you lend someone some money never expect to have it repaid.** Just consider it a gift and cut ties with it. You will save yourself many headaches and potentially make wiser financial decisions.

I don't do impulse buys anymore. If there's something I want that I don't need I go find it online and then save it to a list, then revisit it every few wks. Once I started this I was amazed how much money I was wasting satisfying whims. Now it's to the point to where it has to stay on the list for at least 3 mos before I consider purchase. Can't easily do this for thrift shop or antique finds, but for mainstream purchases this is an option now as lots of things stay available online for a while, for yrs in some cases.

Manners:

When giving a gift do not expect to be thanked. Giving can quickly become a means to gain approval or acknowledgment. This is sad. I give and then cut ties with expectations. This frees me from any potential resentment and negative feelings.

Buy gifts all yr long, always have them in mind so that when you see something you can pick it up and won't be running around at the last minute. And if finances are low or you are not the materialistic type people always appreciate something from the heart such as a letter expressing nice feelings and sentiments, you can also give your time such as offering to babysit or watch their house and take care of their pets when they're on vacation, people always appreciate gifts of time that one thing you can't buy.

If someone gives me a nice well-intentioned compliment I always say thank you.

I also give compliments when I see a trait in someone that I like. Not to receive one in return, but because I value them. Maybe I don't like the whole person, but if I know them long enough I can always find something about them that shines.

Children:

I'm always honest with them. No double talk, or saying one thing and doing another. I never forget how disrespected I felt as a child when people would talk down to me because of my age. They don't need tons of life experience to be able to read people.

Even if you don't have kids read 'Oh the places you'll go' by Dr. Seuss every so often. Have your own copy or check it out from the library. This book has helped my adult self through many episodes. Of course you have to have a part of you that is completely unsophisticated to be able to properly treasure a children's book

Thoughtful list, Lonake. I like your buying guide.

You reminded me of another habit I'm going to get into. Saving 15%. A teacher made me read The Richest Man In the World in high school. I think that's what it was called. It advocated always saving 15% no matter what. I've seldom even attempted it. However, it dawned on me that my credit union will pull money from my savings account if I use up everything in checking. May as well allocate 15% to savings, and hope for the best. Only tried once thus far, and I've failed miserably, but I'm going to keep at it. I can do better than this.

i'm a little saddened to know that i could not come up with a single good habit of mine. just that in the recent years i had my good nature backfiring on me and i lost confidence. have to work on that.

well, my good habit, that i don't really have any bad habits.
