That's it you two. You're learning.
Clearly the threat of the asylum is having a positive impact already.

RIA,

i don't doubt your intentions but i feel that comment is kinda patronizing, im quite confident and conscious about what i know and don't know, and i know when i'v learned or am in the process of learning something..

i like preaching what i know, i didn't learn anything here. and you implying i'm learning something to me is like a "holier than thou" way of implying you know more. i'm in no class in this subject and i am not being tought so far.

Speaking of spelling,I used to be so careful of spelling well.
Now,I realize that no one else does,so why should I

my spelling is really bad because im lazy and feel no care to improve it, and im kinda inconsiderate about making my posts easy for people to read. i was never careful ami, and it shows.

valus cares

edit:

i read some replies for the first time, as originally, i only read the opening post and posted my own thoughts, and that is where my posts came from, lol i never read the asylum idea until now. I encouraged the regulation ay before any asylum idea, and i dont fear it, iv never been apart of the pettiness that caused the bans and issues. so why would i start now? especially since i wasnt one of the banned ones here. lol. the aslyum may prevent Some of them ban-prone people from being banned. again.

Just because no one else bothers does not mean you shouldn't Ami.
Never care what other people do but always adhere to your own standards, which by your own admission are high and good for you.
I think it is something to be proud of, being proficient in your own language.
I actually switch off from badly written posts and don't get me started on text speak
Lazy lazy lazy.
I mean how difficult is it to put an extra vowel in bzy....then you wouldn't have to use a bloody "z" in the first place. Moronz!
Dammit! I've started!

Having an asylum or sin-bin isn`t positive or productive for a new start.

I say "new start" because new rules, a new day and a new way

It wil be a learning experience and there will be a few to test the rules. I trust those who do want a positive experience here in Lindaland, will help keep it between the lines.

I think freedom of speech is a term that has become skewed. Originally it is a term that harks from people with a good message oppressed by insidious governmental regimes. Where the truth was the thing being kept down. And so some of that ethos colours the way people try and advocate it now.
But in reality different people or groups use the phrase for different purposes. Unfortunately it is often used to advocate the broadcasting of insidious ideaologies or misinformation.
There can be no hard line when it comes to 'is complete freedom of speech ok - yes or no?' It depends on what is being said, who is saying it, and for what purpose. One can come no nearer than that, to fully appraising the term.

True freedom of speech comes from the government to the people and is worthless unless it applies to all--from upopular speech to the downtrodden to the misinformed.

Yes, easy and nice freedom of speech is no problem.
It is like peppermint candy, loved by all.
Where the rubber meets the road is if YOU can tolerate "bad" freedom of speech, freedom of speech which hurts YOU,makes you uncomfortable.
That is Freedom of Speech,imo.

It can only be defined by the limited terms of the person describing it. i.e, it will vary by degree. Example in the U.K we are allowed the BNP. Blatently racist one might say. That is a DEGREE of freedom, but it is not entire. You can't go on the TV and call the Queen a lizard for example. Even freedom of speech isn't entirely free. It varies by degree. And always will.
Should we be allowed total freedom of speach on this forum? No. What's the limit? The limit is when it gets personal, libelous, overly emotional, indiscrete, vindictive, garbagy etc etc
Who does that protect? Everyone. Who does it restrict? The people who might harm anothers reputation or feelings.
It's just common sense. Common sense must prevail. (Or face the asylum).

I suppose,RIAFC,that in Coffee's example.
He can say that he thinks woman set it up to have a baby by one guy and then make him pay while they go to a new guy.
That is his opinion.
He can't call a particular woman on here a skank.
