Alot of you don't see through the shallow insincerity characterized by the over-use of the red heart symbol. But i do. Furthermore i deem it classic asylum behaviour.
Please noone use that smilie when addressing me.

Just for perspective, the recent 'heart' posts were in response to RIAFC's post on the previous page but he edited it out early on. Which was thoughtful, I'm glad it was taken out. What is worse than actual insincerity is making accusations and claiming you are doing respectfully. Ami IS sincere, at least I can say that with certainty.

Personally, hearts are a nice gesture, like a warm smile, I don't see it as Love always, but it's warm, sure it can be overused, but it's not really a big deal, now is it?

well it is a problem indeed.

for some people, expressing their love is not easy to them.

for some people posting a red heart really means something, and is not just a smile. there are other smileys for that.

some people get rid of all the superficial and just keep the bare feelings.

I understand not everyone needs to do it. but since you ask if it is a big deal if someone post a red heart when they just want to comunicate mere sympathy for someone, or worse, fake care for being appreciated themselves, then yes it is, for some.

notice I didn't need to explain that to you, I just did because it infuriates me when I see AMI especially, doing this to everyone.

there are ways to be warm and genuine at the same time. check lalalinda for example.

Why do people find posting hearts offensive? It's another means of expression.First it was freedom of speech now smileys?

We can't tell others what or how many smileys they may or may not post.
Sometimes the smileys say more than words.

in my case, it is not "offensive" in the sense that I feel attacked by an army of heart.

what is "threatening" me, is to see hearts all over the place when I know that they don't mean much. what about the few time when I decide to post a red heart genuinely felt? will it just come across as smile?

too much is not necessarily a good thing. that was my only point.

Well,I think freedom of speech/expression is that we are all different.
Some people are effusive, some are stoic. Some you like. Some you don't.
That is freedom. I did not post you a red heart RIAFC,if you noticed, cuz I did FEEL that particular warmth to you .
There are some people whom I try to reach out to when I do not feel a warmth, yet, but hope to in the future
I try to be true to myself as much as one can be.
It is never an exact science.

I understand people may not like me,how I express myself or me in general.
I wonder, though,RIAFC,if you have Venus in hard aspect to Saturn or your 7th house ruler in aspect to Saturn ,if you care to say.

over-use of the red heart symbol.

Yikes, this a controversial subject here

Red hearts posted and how they are is seen is perspective. Period.

If you don`t like soul a., his post will seem shallow.
If you do like soul d, well, guess they are looking sincere.

If the worst thing we have to grumble about is one`s perspective of red hearts... we`re fairly blessed souls then ey

One struggles to be who one is.One struggles to be oneself among a group.
It cannot be done perfectly,or even close cuz of the nature of man and the nature of life--gray.

Use the smilies (red hearts included) as much or as little as you want to. It's no one's business but your own.

Isn't it funny how small marks can mean so much.
Sometimes when I get over enthusiastic about stuff which is most of the time I am tempted to put 2...nay ..3 exclamation marks.
But then I think "bunnies, that looks plain chidish"
A bit like this

So the maximum allowed is two.

And then there are capitals.
Which have the same affect on me as BABY ON BOARD stickers in car windows or even worse PRINCESS ON BOARD.

So I tend to avoid posts which go

MY SYNASTRY WOW!!!!! (see the exclamation marks? Completely OTT!)
Not because I am patronising, but because you know you will have no advice that will be of any use to offer someone who is in that phase of love.

The head is like this
They really just need someone to reply

"Man that's AWESOME!!!!!!!

They don't need any of bunnies "been there, done that, this is how it will pan out" nonsense.

I think the symbols are a good way to illustrate the tone of your message so like minded people can gather.
Jeez I sound so Aquarian.
We really do need a fingers down throat smiley

P.S This is my favourite
P.P.S And if someone has written a post entitled MY SYNASTRY WOW!!! then I apologise. I was not singling you out, I just made it up.

How about a warning finger smilie?
You are overstepping the mark! It's off to the asylum for you if you're not careful.
Even a white coat smilie?
Then you would know you were in trouble!

Aquarian mind off at a tangent now...
