They are calling Thunder a miracle dog . He has went from 6 down to 4 injections a day. He flucuates but not enough to cause serious lasting problems. His motor skills are better and he is full of p*ss and vinegar, loving the spring days, eating flower buds and chasing birds. Just like Retrievers do!

His liver enzymes are worrysome but we take one day at a time and call it a gift. He is on liver supplements (which he hates) to see if they can be brought under control.

No projection on how long the tumor will stay quiet but we`re just loving life to it`s fullest.

We are adopting a puppy for him to mentor and keep him on his toes. We`re excited and once the "oh no he`s cuter than me" wears off, Thunder will happily bring puppy into the fold.

Miracles happen and all the warm thoughts and prayers here pushed him along the path of health.

Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts

That is fantastic news!!

Bet he's going to love his new little pal too.

Here's hoping his tumor shrinks and goes away completely

Thanks kat

Thunder continues to amaze us and the Vet. He still fetchs and plays but like the senior citizen he is.

His sugar levels and liver enzymes are still wonky but doable. Down to 4 injections a day and that`s such a relief for both of us.

The new puppy has added time to him ( I think anyhow). Thunder likes being the boss in charge and Phoenix is happy to oblige him with his sillyness.

A new pic of Thunderbird and Phoenix

Thanks again for everyones support....

Update:

It`s been a year now & our Blessings have been tenfold as Thunderbird is still with us and enjoying his life and enriching ours. The Vet is in awe as we are.

His blood sugar swings wildly still but the insulin and proper diet has saved his life.

Most times, he is pain free thanks to modern medicine and can still get around well. Slow as he is almost 12 yrs old but still good for a senior citizen with this debilitating disease.

He enjoys his brotherbird Phoenix and we believe the youth and adoration he brings into Thunders life has keep him with us this long.

Each day is a precious gift with him and I pray for many more to come.
Again, thank you each soul for any kind thoughts and positive energy sent his way.
