It's funny because about a month or so I bought two Silva Mind Method books and was really into them. Great program. Jose Silva was a brilliant man. I'm going to have to finish them soon. Really powerful stuff. I didnt know he did the Cancel thing too.

I'd always seen his most popular book in the bookstore over the years, but never picked it up until recently. Many authors have clearly been influenced by him.

Same here. I mostly use it too correct typos and fix links to pictures posted.

When I do post my own photos/artwork, I like having the option to delete them as well.

I also delete if I don't want to continue a conversation with someone sometimes. I change my mind knowing that responding will only have to make me respond to another post of theirs.

As I've grown older on LL I rarely post things that I feel I would later have to delete in the first place. Lessons learnt.

I don't think a small test would be too burdensome. But I guess I will keep it. It's true that few abuse it and most use it responsibly...so the nays have it.

Yes, I'm ashamed to say that I read his book when I was eighteen, but didn't manage the three meditations per day. I preferred the tapes, but my dogs, when they were pups, destroyed several of them. That's one thing that bugs me when I see these books now: that I didn't really take everything in then, when I first had it right at my fingertips. I keep running over the same old ground.

I'm too undisciplined to do the multiple daily meditations too! :O

I did for a couple of weeks and saw some benefit though. Try try again!

If you want, I'll send the books off to you when I'm done. I know what you mean about not utilizing the potential/teachings when the books were in your possession.

Also, I think many of the lessons are up online. I joined some sort of mailing thing from their website and get multiple emails every day with links to helpful lessons and meditations.

Go for it! Wield your power! I'm interested to see what would happen too.

Also, I don't think anyone who wants to delete a post they themselves have made, is abusing any kind of responsibility. Who do we owe our posts and words to?

It's not about wielding power. Every choice I decide is about making this community as a whole the best it can be. Sometimes I follow my gut. Other times (like now) I seek counsel and opinions from others. And sometimes I fumble through. But it is always for the purpose of keeping Lindaland a safe place for all.

People in general don't like change or restrictions.

I recently came here and wandered into the Basic Astrology forum looking to seek some general purpose knowledge in a place where it was also possible to discuss it. What I was met with was a bunch of edited (deleted) posts, it was sad. Because of that, I can empathize with your frustration.

At the end of the day, it's your choice. This is a good board, welcoming, friendly and filled with all types of people who for the most part seem to find common ground despite their differences.

You must be doing something right.

Randall, I had an idea. People spoke very strongly that they did not want to lose the Edit Function. For me, I would shut down my free expression if I knew I could not edit.

However, I can appreciate that it looks like an unruly mess when someone who is crusin for a brusin erases all his posts before the verdict falls, as just happened.

I propose a way that both sides can find a compromise. In this kind of case, the Mod's could delete all posts that are blank i.e. say edit.

So, with Sand who was not banned but erased many many many posts and now there is a kind of unruly mess, these could be erased by Mods, too.

If the Mod's of a Forum do it, the burden of deleting them would not all fall on you or one single person chosen for the entire job.

This is what I do at night instead of sleeping

Bad idea.
If the empty/edit posts are removed,
it will look very wrong.
As little as one person, not always many,
( some threads have only one person replying)
could appear on a thread, to be talking to themselves,
unless they quoted the person whom edited.
Even then it would appear weird quoting a person whose post is no longer there edited or not.
I hope I made sense.

i never edited any of my posts before.. the way i see it is you can NEVER take back what has been said, so when i say something i back it up even if i regret it or changed my mind wich i often do.

Maybe Randall could do it selectively then such as in the Basic Astrology Forum which may have been left a mess.

lexx, yes you make sense. But, the poster already looks like they are talking to an empty reply box. Six in one half a dozen in another
