Have you guys noticed how hungry for attention the troll becomes when you ignore him/her? They usually out themselves at this time.IP: Logged |

I do that when I'm feeling insecure, and then I get the strongest urge to back off. I feel bad for anyone feeling the same way. IP: Logged |

Nope. My computer is slow, and still occasionally restarting itself, so I didn't open it at the time. I don't have the power to ban anyone, either. I think only Randall can do that. IP: Logged |

Luckly teasel, Lindaland don`t get the trolls many forums do. Usually here it is someone banned or angry who sneaks in under a different name. They are easy to spot after they post a few times. Just keeping it in the forum because I see it so much in other places. Even Birds and Blooms forum gets em ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

I loved this: x Not that I think many trolls of this nature would be impressed...but a few repented for having been a troll of this nature (or is that "grew up"?), so there's a chance it might sink in (assuming they have the attention span to even read it). IP: Logged |

Obviously have seen trolls and troll-like behavior on here and I do believe they're mentally ill.

I know. I was booted from another forum, almost a year ago, and it still gets to me at times. I was feeling so incredibly low - a low I keep hitting - and I accidentally offended one person. She talked to others about me, who started to give me a wide berth, and due to my feelings there, I felt paranoid with the person who owned the site - due to things that they posted, that seemed relevant to my own posts/mood - and then when I apologized to both of them, I was banned. (the one laid a path of passive-aggressive comments, for me to follow, and it went from there.) They then , after being bothered by someone else, posted that they wished this person would just stop, and "there's no need to say you're sorry" followed by the other persons' "LOL, no kidding!" Those same people have had the gall to point out to others, that an apology would make the world of difference. I apologized, and they laughed at me. I was banned without notice, and when I tried to log in, I couldn't, so I made another name, and was quickly banned again. These people think they're so kind, the one person thinks their site is a haven for people who need a boost - they think so much of themselves. Since then, I've seen questions like, "have you known someone who lost their mind?" (paraphrasing). It gets to me, because I've felt like I'm losing mine at times, and they hay-elped! I still feel paranoid. I have had repeated social problems, and it seems like the fears are always lurking - and things keep happening. I feel bad for anyone who might be like me, but if someone is deliberately disrupting the board, just because they think they can - go get 'em. IP: Logged |

Jeepers, how utterly bizarre! Well, you know what? We know and understand you here so bugger that crap (the other forum). Just move forward and put the rest in your bag of experiences. Trolls are easy to spot here, lol even when they think they're going unnoticed. ------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

I was once on a board for 2 weeks back in 2007 when a comment I made matter of factly without meaning any offense and just talking about 2 fictional characters got me a warning for trolling. After I got over the surprise of it I simply decided to never go back, and I never did. I didn't even think about them again until recently when it came up in conversation. IP: Logged |

Trolls here usually disrupt threads, start obscene ones, constantly pick on a few people whom they don't like or are vulnerable, even mock them, post the most absurd comments on more serious topics etc etc. Most times they start off as friendly but later their intentions surface when they feel more comfy within a particular clique.------------------ quote: Remember, love can conquer the influences of the planets....It can even eliminate karma.

When I was about 16-17 I trolled a guy into the ground when he bad mouthed the graphics of Metal Gear Solid 2 on PlayStation 2 (which I actually done as a satirical joke, not a hater type post) on one of the nets top gaming forums at the time!I got a 3 day ban and I never done anything like that again thereafter, and eventually became good friends with the person who was on the receiving end of my moment of madness He thought it was hilarious...
