Violets, I`m not a Dr nor do I understand mental illness much less attempt to diagnose it. As Mods, our responsibility is to keep the forums running smoothly, fairly and hopefully interesting.

We attempt to keep the stalkers, bullies and trolls at bay. Most of us take it seriously and yet know our limits. We are not responsible for anothers bad behavior but are responsible in keeping others from abused by them. A fine line, yes?

Some mods and knowflakes will feed the trolls. Thats just the way it is.

We do what we can, in our own way ,to try to keep it between the lines.

Thank you to all the Mods who responsibily do their jobs here while keeping their private lives, jobs, and families humming along day after day!

I'll have to politely agree with you there, Randall (no offense intended to others). That was why I tried to post the thread about schizophrenia and mental health issues.

It's not productive to feed into another person's confusion, thinking that it's funny or that they'll understand when a person is joking.
But I understand that it's not always easy for everyone to tell who's just being weird or annoying for the sake of it, and who might really need some help.
I hate talking about it that way, because I don't like to sound patronizing. But I guess it's something I feel compelled to say.

I don't think anyone purposefully egged her on, I just think that people don't always understand that it's sometimes better to just leave someone alone if they're simply not making any sense, or to help them feel more grounded in concrete reality.

Some people really do appear to be basically belligerent and antagonistic, which is very irritating. Generally, I just choose not to engage, or contribute to more negativity by using inherently negative words like "troll", calling people "evil", and referring to people as "it". I find that highly unproductive and absolutely unnecessary.

I would go so far as to call it a pet peeve, actually. At least on a website that is in memory of a very loving person who would probably never have used those words against another human being. But that's just me.

Thanks. I saw your original post. I have thoughts on that and agree with the essence of what you're saying, but yeah...I don't know if this is the thread for it.
I'm not so naive that I'm not aware of "internet trolls", but I think we're kind of talking about apples and oranges here.
