It's always possible, but it seems unlikely. I've heard many songs over and over again, and on extremely rare occasions I'll even hear Metallica or Motley Crue (one of those was in a Safeway!). Heck, some classify Bon Jovi as glam metal and I've heard his songs plenty of times. So Rush should not be a big deal.

I can understand pop music not playing Rush, but I'd think the rock stations would. I'm fairly certain I've heard Rush back in the 80s (before I listened to music, but my dad tuned into a rock station and I remember some of those songs, especially as my dad might sing along). Technically, Rush is "prog rock" (progressive, but not in the political sense, in fact Rush made a tribute or something to Ayn Rand, focusing on the aspects of Rand championing individual creativity over conformity).
