My state was one of four that started the ball rolling early. In 2011. And, was open for business last Tuesday. Many programs with support are available, and for those without access to comps, or have dial up, you can chat on line at your local library. Or call phone numbers readily available for help. I am in a great position regarding this, my employer offers coverage for FTE's but their rates could be far better.Through exploration, I have found better options. I use off hours for this. I Do not expect to have my questions answered during high traffic times. While much of this, including those with special needs, and tax credits, will not fully be in place until Nov -I still have a few months to research for the best plan thoroughly. These rates will go down [my opinion] as more people get into the system. I do not use medical professionals. I do not go to the doctor. I am however, sole caregiver for my elderly mother. For me to risk catastrophic bills incurred through illness, or accident, would be remiss to the point of nonsensical. Therefore, though I would probably go for years without paying for health insurance, I am very glad that the ACA exists. I wanted single payer, I wanted plans more along the lines of Canada, or at the very least Europe. I do not think that the ACA is a precursor for those...we have not evolved to that point as a country. I don't expect miracles. Type your state, and medical exchanges. I will not post links, you can find these very easily yourselves. Educate yourself, shop around. There is allot of info out there-- other than the fed website I posted earlier. Check out what your state has to offer, and any assistance, credits, et all that they might provide. It is all out there.

Re Churchill, that quote was an attempt to make his change of direction look more "noble"...having been chucked out of the liberal side of government he joined the other side. He was never really either, but s complex human being...Great Mark Twain quote on conservatives: "Conservatism is the blind and fearful worship of dead radicals." IP: Logged |

Your own? I presume since you credit no one...and basically just echoed Clemens. It is sad, jwhop, that after all the years of raling at socialists you still don't know the difference between them and all other non-conservatives, nor seem to understand that like both Churchill and Twain, most people really aren't any One thing at all...IP: Logged |

Shall we chalk this one up to poor memory, too? I know we've discussed "ObamaCare"s similarity to what was proposed by then Speaker of the House Gingrich. http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2013/08/republicans-supported-obamacare-gingrich-dole-individual-mandate IP: Logged | |
