As Trump said...Hillary has a lot of hate in her heart!

I have to wonder who told Hillary it's smart policy to trash the very groups of people...including Catholics and Evangelicals, whom she's depending on to pull the lever for her in November?

so basically you guys need to choose between pestilence and cholera in the upcoming election?

well, Hillary will win according to my Tarot spreads.

But Trump has already done a great job with his hateful speeches that are now used by ISIS to lure young men into their circles. Well done. I am sure that the sooner or later the U.S. will again have a reason to bomb the sh*t out of the Middle East.
Strangely no American i have ever met in my life talks about the crimes their forces committ; no one talks about the bombed hospital in Afghanistan run by doctors without borders. Only innocent people died. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunduz_hospital_airstrike
but of course they always had big knowdledge about Russian military attacks; but no clue about the crimes their forces commit.
Very intelligent and sophisticated
Love you guys for your support for peace

I might have no clue about American politics- but i have a clue about what people in Europe, esp Central Europe, think about America and this election ....looks like the U.S. will continue to be one of the most unpopular nations in the world.

Enneline,
You paint Americans with a mighty broad brush.

You have not spoke to me, my neighbors, community or my state of MI. You don`t read our newspapers to make this harsh judgement..

You do not know how "the people think or feel". You are relying on your media resources much the same as every country.
I don`t read any compassion, peace or kindness in your post so ask, how can you paint us as compassionless, unpeaceful or unkind??

In America we can vote for pestilence and
cholera or use our people power to write in a candidate. This is an option of a Democratic people.

The write in doesn`t make the POTUS seat but we need not feel helpless or as uneffectual as you seem to think.

Thanks Juni for defending us.

I've been anti-war as long as I've been posting in GU2, but it's true in my life, that I don't know enough people who are as disgusted by American foreign policy as I am.

I see truth in Enneline's judgment, unfortunately. Most Americans seem to be dull-minded and desensitized (and just plain uninformed) about our role abroad, and the actual reasons for it (oil and geopolitical strategy, not "fighting terrorism"....WE have been the terrorists.)

On the other hand I clearly remember all the fanfare and excitement in Europe over Obama, in 2008. Just a little research into his background and affiliations would have presaged the next 8 years and his failure or inability to stop attacking the Middle East.
He even won the Nobel Peace Prize....even THEY were strangely unaware of his affiliations and corruptibility, and what that meant, exactly.

So it's not just Americans getting duped. And it's not like we don't pay the price as well, for what our government does. I mean the crashed economy of 2008 was foreseeable and preventable, but no...the government would rather bail out big business and grant them immunity with OUR tax dollars, than act morally and responsibly. Obama was all for The Bailout, too.

Obama didn't help to end racism. He only created more divisiveness. And it appears to have been intentional. There's also an early video of him saying some strong anti-white rhetoric.

Also the emotional climate in America right now is really hard to take.

In this forum especially the tone looks hysterical at first glance. Too many threads of "Hillary said this!" "Hillary said that!"

Feels like high blood pressure.

Glad I don't care and nothing shocks me about either of them.

People should vote for Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate. What do they have to lose?

I don't believe we are democratic anymore. :-/

Delegates, superdelegates, Diebold....

Nah it's all way too shady.

And who even complains? That's the troublesome thing.

Elections seem like a massive exercise of collective delusion.

Democratic or not, we have options and should excercise them.

Yeah, The Prince of Pot is the ideal candidate for some. Make sure you get free samples before you pull the lever for Johnson.

first:
I never said that all Americans are like that, i said the Americans i met are like that. Oh no, with the exception of 1-2 people. 1 is the husband of my friend and he had been in Iraq before he decided to quit and do somethign else. He said that Americans always have fears of being attacked- with no reason (any country is a target of any terrorism) and they think that that gives them the right to attack other countries. How many military attacks did the U.S. committ in the past few decades?! HUNDREDS!!! And you guys want to bring peace in this world?

Second: why do you feel attacked? As i said: i was not referring to every single American. I was referring to the majority i met both in person and online. And believe me: i ve met dozens of Americans. I had been working for 7 years with them before i deciced to become a freelancer. And for the most part i got along very well with my American colleagues, who were all intelligent and nice guys.

The majority of them was very nice, clever and gentle people- BUT - AND THAT'S MY POINT- blind-eyed on all the crimes the U.S. does. Soooo many crimes and they just talk about themselves. That's the point that disgusts me

You guys should ask yourself why the U.S. has become one of the most hated nations in the world. It's because of some people, people who are like some people on here. Ignorant, selfish and even willing to support a right-wing (!!!) to defend their own interests.

When i ever see a thread on here, or hear Americans talking about the hospital in Kunduz, the Mahmudiyah killings, the ancient art stolen in Iraq, etc. i would be willing to re-consider my opinion about the political blindness of the majority of the U.S. people.

And again; i am not saying every American is like that, i would never ever say or think that you are anything near subhumans, i am not saying that you are stupid- no, all i am saying is that a majority of Americans i met, are blind-eyed, ignorant and selfish about the crimes the U.S. goverment & military do

Oh because smoking marijuana is somehow immoral?

But sexual assault is okay? You can "pull the lever" for that.
http://people.com/politics/donald-trump-attacked-people-writer/

And pull the lever for war, xenophobia, misogyny, sheer stupidity, etc....

a) Never heard of these events. War details are under-reported in US mainstream, which is all propaganda basically, and not worth devoting my time to following...

b) But I don't have to be aware of every atrocity to know how bad it is in general, and speak out against it.

c) I HAVE made threads here before that are anti-war, like this one, and especially this one, but...

d) Usually abstain from this subforum.

Actually GU2 shouldn't be taken as indicative of how the LL Americans are, politically, since the more left-leaning ones find the level of debate here too obnoxious to participate in, and commonly say so in other forums.

in future i should keep myself out of here. Nonetheless: All the best for you (& the rest of the world since the U.S. president is supposedly the most powerful man in this world)

^Are you assuming that everyone on a spiritual form would be left leaning? If so, that is quite ignorant. Snide comments like these are meaningless and just rude. I support a "right winger" because that's where my political ideology aligns. You can be spiritual and be conservative. You can be spiritual and be liberal. Your not a bad person if your republican and your not a saint for being a democrat. These labels become too much sometimes. Whatever the issue is, both sides will come to a compromised decision at the end of the day.

I'm not obnoxious about my political opinion. I'm very open minded and try to see from both sides (Mercury in Sag ).

Back to the topic...it's a sad thought that the hackers from wikileaks are doing the job of the FBI should've done. Ugh. Hillary has said worse in regards to black people. Tracey Martin was a travel chef for the white house the first four years of Bill Clinton's term. At an AIDS fundraiser he witnessed Clinton refer to black americans as n******. After Martin spoke about this, his phone was hacked and he received several death threats. If you haven't heard about this yet, think about why...

No

But relative to war there would be more ati-war comments if the subforum was overall friendlier to left-leaning ideas, or at least more intentionally fostering bipartisan discussion, instead of rabid insults being hurled around. Like mud wrestling more than conversation.

That's the lack of spirituality.

Basically, peace loving people aren't gravitating here because it's verbal warfare....

The ring-wing content doesn't ALL bother me (I'm registered Republican, myself) but the tone is like FoxNews hate-spew more than traditional Republican ideas like fiscal conservatism, small government, Constitutionalism. A true sense of small government dovetails nicely with so-called left-wing principles, because there is more liberty to do what one wants, when the gov't isn't sticking its nose into everything, or disrupting the economy with wars-for-profit.

No!

Casual marijuana use may damage your brain

The study, published in the Journal of Neuroscience, is the first to link casual marijuana use to major changes in the brain. And according to the researchers, the degree of abnormalities is based on the number of joints you smoke in a week.
http://thechart.blogs.cnn.com/2014/04/16/casual-marijuana-use-may-damage-your-brain/

Notice..."casual use" may damage your brain. Hard core pot users are in far greater danger.

Nice talking to you but now, it's Martini Time.

So we should outlaw everything that damages the brain?

Food companies won't like that.

Brain lesions, obesity, and other disturbances in mice treated with monosodium glutamate

Well, that's not even the tip of the food industry iceberg.

I heard Trump even wants to keep cigarettes legal!!

How can Obama end racism? Was it his job to appeal to racists everywhere, and show them that non-white people are human, too? God, I hope not. That sounds like an impossible job.

It's on the shoulders of the racists to change how they view people of colour, whether they're from this country, or overseas.
