Football deserves a kick down the stairs .. and all this patriotic jingoism with it. But it is way out of bounds for the president to tell anyone to honour his idea of "respect" for the flag or any other symbol of the country.. and far more UNAmerican than silent peaceful protest . I remember well the outrage that was drummed up when Obama supposedly didn't put hand to heart in a similar scene. Every NFL player has a clause in their contracts that allows them to be sanctioned or terminated for behavior. It's not only legal, but they agreed to it when they signed.IP: Logged |

I could care. If its illegal to force a schoolchild to recite the pledge its no big deal if someone doesn't put hand on heart for it. I thought bucking the stodgy form-for-forms-sake was what you liked about DT?And i could care if players can be sanctioned.
