"...talking an island you helped bankrupt: priceless."You have actual proof Trump helped bankrupt Puerto Rico. By actual proof, I mean credible news sources and not from the Cracker Jacks News Network. You might also explain how President Trump...in office for only about 9 months "helped" Puerto Rico run up a $73 BILLION debt they can't pay back.

Trump in San Juan: 'I hate to tell you, Puerto Rico, but you've thrown our budget a little out of whack'Oh, he and others helped : A Trump company was unable to save a floundering Puerto Rico golf club and resort from bankruptcy after entering into a management and brand licensing agreement with its owners in 2008. As a result of the episode, $32.6 million in government investment was not recouped. IP: Logged |

The POTUS filed for bankruptcy 4 times. But those were sound business decisions- quote: The total Debt acquired by the Federal Government in Washington, DC, is approaching Twenty Trillion Dollars. ... However, the Bankruptcy Code does not provide a Chapter that would enable the Federal Government from filing Bankruptcy.

The POTUS never filed for bankruptcy. Companies he had an interest in used bankruptcy protection to restructure debts, which many well-known companies have done.IP: Logged |

Experts told us during the primary season Trump alone didn’t cause the bankruptcies. While six in 25 years is a lot, five were tied to a struggling gaming industry.Trump was acting, they said, as any investor would. Investors often own many non-integrated companies, which they fund by taking on debt, and some of them inevitably file for bankruptcy, Adam Levitin, a law professor at Georgetown University, previously told us. He added that people typically wouldn’t personally blame former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney or investor Warren Buffett for individual failures within their investment companies, Bain Capital and Berkshire Hathaway, respectively. "The only difference is that Trump puts his name on his companies, which means people associate them with him, but he's not at all the leader in the bankruptcy space," Levitin said. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/jun/21/hillary-clinton/yep-donald-trumps-companies-have-declared-bankrupt/ IP: Logged |

Offering a desperate population the ability to drown themselves in even more debt is hardly generous. The Prepa Bondholder Group has offered the island’s utility a $1 billion debtor-in-possession (DIP) loan, and a separate swap of $1 billion in existing bonds for another $850 million DIP note. This money would be immediately available for restoring electric power. In all, the deal includes $150 million in debt cancellation on roughly $9 billion in outstanding Prepa bonds.
Puerto Rico has been intentionally mishandled. The permanent repeal of the Jones act will take a pace no doubt about it.

Ignorance is no excuse for posting trash like this. The "Jones Act" is a 1920 law drafted to protect American shipping companies. It only applies to shipping from one American port to another American port and requires that American flagged vessels be used. Presidents cannot change laws enacted by Congress but on some occasions, the Jones Act has been WAIVED for brief periods of time. President Trump WAIVED the Jones Act for 10 days. He did not repeal his WAIVER, the WAIVER[b] expired after 10 days. The President did not extend the [b]WAIVER of the Jones Act because the harbors of Puerto Rico are stuffed to the gills with ships waiting to offload food, equipment and other relief supplies. In other words, at that point, the Jones Acts went back into force. October 11, 2017 The Jones Act must be repealed William F. Shughart II The nearly century-old Jones Act, enacted in 1920 to protect American shippers from foreign competitors, is back in the news. To speed delivery of relief supplies to Puerto Ricans devastated by Hurricane Maria, President Trump waived compliance with the Jones Act’s requirements for up to 10 days, allowing for a possible extension of the waiver if needed. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/10/the_jones_act_must_be_repealed.html

What I said drives a stake through the heart of leftist arguments that all that can be done for Puerto Rico and it's citizens isn't being done...because all that can be done, IS BEING DONE The Imbecilic argument that the Jones Act was rescinded by President Trump is just more of the fake news from the lunatic leftist fringe. Blowing the bullshiiters and their bullshiiite away about Trump's alleged failure in Puerto Rico.Geraldo Gets Back From Puerto Rico, Blows Lid Off What’s Been Happening To Trump '...worst, most dishonest press...' Jack Davis October 13, 2017 Contrary to the allegations of a biased media, the people of Puerto Rico were very happy that President Donald Trump came to the island to survey the damage from Hurricane Maria, Geraldo Rivera said Friday on Fox & Friends. “He has been getting the worst, most dishonest press about his visit to Puerto Rico,” Rivera said. “It is staggering to me how unfair — how grotesquely unfair — the reporting has been,” he added. Rivera, whose family lives in Puerto Rico, saw Trump’s visit firsthand and said 90 to 95 percent of the people Trump met were enthusiastic about his visit. He said the media distorts reality. For example, he noted that when Trump praised the island for its actions to ensure that the powerful Maria had a death toll of 16 as opposed to 1,800 from the less powerful Hurricane Katrina, he was attacked for seeming to downplay the loss of life on the island. Reports attacking Trump are “fake news,” Rivera said last wek, pointing out how New York Times columnist Paul Krugman falsely claimed on Twitter there was a cholera outbreak on Puerto Rico. On Friday, Trump affirmed his support for the island and its people. Donald J. Trump ✔ ý@realDonaldTrump
The wonderful people of Puerto Rico, with their unmatched spirit, know how bad things were before the H's. I will always be with them! “The wonderful people of Puerto Rico, with their unmatched spirit, know how bad things were before the H’s. I will always be with them!” Trump tweeted. Donald J. ...We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever! 7:07 AM - Oct 12, 2017 On Thursday, Trump had tweeted that first responders would not be on the island forever, ruffling some feathers. But White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said Thursday that Trump’s tweet reflects the proper disaster response. “I think he said the U.S. military and FEMA can’t be there forever. Right?” he asked the reporter questioning him. “First responders. The minute you go anywhere as a first responder — and this would apply, certainly, to the military — you are trying very hard, working very hard to work yourself out of a job.” Kelly said the initial response teams are supposed to have limited time in any crisis location so they can be sent to the next one when disaster strikes. “There will be a period in which — we hope sooner rather than later — to where the U.S. military and FEMA, generally speaking, can withdraw because then the government and the people of Puerto Rico are recovering sufficiently to start the process of rebuilding,” he said. “So this country, our country will stand with those American citizens in Puerto Rico until the job is done. But the tweet about FEMA and DOD — read: military — is exactly accurate. They’re not going to be there forever, and the whole point is to start to work yourself out of a job and then transition to the rebuilding process,” he said. http://www.westernjournalism.com/geraldo-gets-back-from-puerto-rico-blows-lid-off-whats-been-happening-to-trump/ IP: Logged |
