1. Customs and Border Guards as well as ICE agents also do not get paid. Over a period of time, this will result in corruption, and more illegal immigration, especially of dangerous drug dealers throwing wads of cash to impoverished CBP and ICE Agents.2. Government Shutdowns always hurt the Party in Power, no matter whose fault it is or perceived. 3. Trump owned this Shutdown on Live TV, so all his rage tweeting will not work now. This hurts GOP electoral prospects as more independents shift to Dems. 4. If Trump thought shutting down government will shut down financing for Mueller, he is mistaken as Mueller "Self-Financed" the probe for many more months thanks to seizing Paul Manafort's ill gotten loot. 5. The US is under threat of Putin sponsored Chinese hackers. If they take out the US Power Grid in peak winter, with a shut down in place, it will be a tragedy of epic proportions. And no new investigators to find or prevent chaos due to the Shut Down. 6. Soldiers won't get paid, again hurting GOP Prospects in the 2020 Senate Race. 7. The previous shut down was over 3.4 billion for healthcare, so demanding 5 billion now is illogical especially when Trump promised to make Mexico pay for the Wall. Edit: I found a quote on Fox & Friends by a popular man on 20th September 2013: "If there is a Government Shutdown, The President should be Fired". Quoted on TV by Donald Trump. IP: Logged |

Demorats are the party of big government.Shyster Schumer and Nancy Pee-Lousy will crack under the pressure and sign off on $5 Billion for wall construction. Give it about 2 weeks. Time American taxpayers found out just how many federal employees it really takes to run the US Government...so, shut it down and keep it shut down until demorats regain their sanity. Oh btw, the shutdown is only for non-essential employees in the federal government..which is about 25% of the federal workforce. IP: Logged |

Meanwhile those on border duty wil be spending christmas at work without pay. As we ALL know, DT OWNED PROUDLY this shutdown; his own majority Senate refused to go nuclear as he demanded, and by his own estimation, he is a weak president who can't control his own party. Of course we all understand that you want to blame Dems tho they are still in the minority. Do you not understand that that shows how strong you consider them? Are they David to the Repub Goliath monolith? It takes a big man to sacrifice the smallest in his force at christmas for his own face saving. Mostly those who can't afford to lose their paychecks for even a week are those 800k who are affected. Very Big Man. Not. IP: Logged |

And today he acknowledged in a tweet (if he wasn't lying) that the wall is unnecessary. "Border is tight!"So are the christmas budgets of close to a million fed employees including his marvelous border patrol.. IP: Logged |

No one will be working without pay. That's bullshiite. They will be paid...including the non-essential employees when the budgets for their agencies are passed.Leave it to leftists to blow everything up out of proportion. If anyone shouldn't get paid it's members of Congress who oppose the border wall to protect America from the illegal alien invasion. IP: Logged |

Mexico is not paying for the wall. The caravan crisis appears to have been averted WITHOUT THE WALL. Sure, people will be paid, when everything is back to normal. Christmas is this week. Meanwhile the Proposed wall would be an environmental disaster, commandeer private property and habitat refuges, and AGAIN, DT has indirectly admitted WE DONT NEED IT. Except to preserve his delicate flower of an EGO. What's a few more species when DonBoy's pride is at stake? The biggest military in the world and you guys are scared of a bunch of peasants. Yep. He also boasted on twitter, that the agents have been doing SO well, that nobody is getting through... he admitted that we don't need a stupid wall. Also: if he still builds the stupid thing, how many people would be losing precious jobs? Those agents that are doing such a good job. IP: Logged |

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ny-news-trump-reaga n-border-wall-government-shutdown-20181221-story.html? And while Reagan did mull creating a ditch at the border, he never called for a wall — he called for the opposite. “Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don’t we work out some recognition of our mutual problems? Make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit, and they, while they’re working and earning here, they’d pay taxes here. And when they want to go back, they can go back. They can cross. Open borders both ways,” he said in 1980.

Which has nothing nada zero to do with the don owning the shutdown... or the citizens wanting to rape coffers of their hard earned money for a wall. No denseness just common sense there is a snake in the woodpile. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

The rest are furloughed. Additionally, DHS estimates 54,935 Customs and Border Protection employees, out of 60,109 total employees, are working without pay for the time being. The republicans planned and manouvered extensively to force a shutdown in October 2013. There was a great deal of talk about it at the time. Obama did not welcome a shutdown. Dems have argued extensively AGAINST a shutdown. The House tried again -and again to gut the law of the land that was Obamacare by DEfunding it... while this year's REPUB congress have just not agreed between the houses But of course if Obama did it (even tho an different situation) it must be ok.. the last ditch defense of the indefensible. If this is true: did you agree with democrats wanting that wall? Did you cheer them? Why didn't they get it, since the republicans are so keen on it? And rump said the only person who should lose their job during a government shutdown, is the president. When it shut down under Obama. So where is his resignation? IP: Logged |

I can assure you the Republicans didn't advocate for open borders. The only difference was that the Dems cared about border security, and now they only care about opposing anything President Trump does--the American citizens' safety be damned.IP: Logged |

And it is "costing" the taxpayers $5.3 billion every three months to pay for the illegal aliens that are still crossing our borders. Comparatively speaking, relative to the total budget, if you made $100,000 a year and wanted to pay for a new lock on the garage door to keep out unwanted "guests," it would cost just over $8 a month. And we spend more on food stamps in a month than President Trump wants for the wall in a year. How's that for a logical fallacy?IP: Logged |
