No one truly believes she even said this. I’m sure her last thoughts concerned her loved ones and where she would spend eternity. Last year, she spoke against stacking the Court, so you see how much Dems truly care about her wishes.

Back to Honoring This Great Woman's LIFE...
Her body lies in state at the Supreme Court building today, flags at half-mast.

There was a prayer service this morning marking the beginning of this part of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's funeral...

I will include a video of the service when youtube has it available.

Teasel, thankyou for starting the asteroid thread on her.

So, it's official. Trump has nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill the open Supreme Court seat.

Here's a run down on #AmyConeyBarrett from our youth-led Judicial Advocacy Team.

Her beliefs harken back to an era:
- before civil rights
- before women's equality and right to choose
- before our country granted entry to people from all countries and cultures
Her confirmation would undo enormous strides we've made over the past several decades.

As a fundamental matter to our mission and advocacy, her confirmation would also threaten our constitutional right to not be shot.

- She has argued that common-sense background checks would “target” the whole Second Amendment.

- Her extreme disregard for legal precedent means that any existing law that has been ruled constitutional, including nearly every gun law, is now at risk.

- She's been described as an ideological heir to fmr Justice Scalia, who gutted gun legislation before he passed.

She is a "Constitutionalist Originalist", meaning she believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written in 1787 [when Black people were legally enslaved and women were denied human rights] and not as it applies to life in modern America. As an extreme "Originalist," she believes her own views of the Constitution should be able to override the standards of 200 years of rulings that have cemented our constitutional rights.

So, Barrett is a radical conservative who holds discriminatory beliefs, including blocking young people’s access to abortion, and defending racist corporate policies, like segregation in the workplace. We say this not to scare you, but to show how important it is that we fight.

The courts are not meant to be political institutions, but they have been corrupted by radical conservatives to enact their unpopular, unconstitutional, and deadly agenda on our country.

March For Our Lives, and our friends in the gun violence prevention space, are strong forces. We rapidly develop our strategies based on the needs of the nation, and we're ready to fight for our constitutional right not to be shot.

Loco!

Barrett believes in and implements 'Stare decisis', (‘let the decision stand’), following 'judicial precedents' when deciding cases.

Nevertheless, I can see why you're against Barrett.

Amy Coney Barrett: ‘I Love the United States and I Love the United States Constitution’

That's enough to turn any leftist's stomach.

Such hyperbole.

If she was such a backward woman, she wouldn't have gone and gotten a Phd in law, and made a strong career for herself, she would have stayed home barefoot and pregnant.

Yes, her position on women's reproductive choices are at odd with women's right to choose. But that doesn't make her backward. That just makes her someone who strongly disagree with abortion.

Like you, I would prefer that she does not sign law restricting other women's choices. I think a conservative stacked Supreme court will not undo Roe Vs Wade, but might amend some part of it, like late term abortions which I am prefectly okay with, I honestly do not believe a conservative stacked Supreme court will outright ban abortion.

Also, klobuchar is a world class whiner. Like a true harridan, she's comparing job loss with the dreadful state of having your "kids jumping on the couch." She's rambling on about deer tracks now.

"How would you define virtue? What does that even mean?"

http://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/yes-the-aba-is-still-a-left-wing-advocacy-group/

he ABA has a history of taking liberal positions on issues including abortion, the death penalty, same-sex marriage, affirmative action, and the Second Amendment. The organization’s ideological bias has long tainted its ratings of judicial nominees. An entire book on the subject was written as early as 1965, Joel B. Grossman’s Lawyers and Judges: The ABA and the Politics of Judicial Selection. A 2006 Wall Street Journal editorial condemned the ABA’s “long history of . . . ideological sandbagging.” A 2012 Political Research Quarterly study found “strong evidence of systematic bias in favor of Democratic nominees.” Senator Ted Cruz pointed out at Wednesday’s hearing that eight of the 15 members of the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, which evaluates nominees, have together contributed at least $60,000 to Democratic candidates and related organizations, and donations to the campaigns of presidential nominees have gone exclusively to Democrats: Five members donated to Barack Obama’s campaign, three to that of Hillary Clinton, and none to the last three Republican nominees.

Warning, Verizon is a lefty site, so verify accuracy.

Of course babies need to be protected by law.

If their mother won't, then the law must.

------------------------------------------

As a Notre Dame law professor in 2013, Barrett signed a public letter criticizing the Roe decision and calling for “the unborn to be protected in law.” In 2006, she signed on to an ad that called for an “end to the barbaric legacy of Roe vs. Wade.”

Btw, I agree. The ABA has a reliable leftist
bent.

If the issues of abortion, the death penalty, same-sex marriage, affirmative action, and the Second Amendment didn't exist, their incomes would take a precipitous plunge.

Harris and Schumer are two that didn't sign the partial bill.

"S.311 - Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act"
http://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/311/text

They're sick.

"...including those who voted against the federal ban on partial birth abortion — the practice of aborting a baby by delivering it legs first and then sucking out the brain."

------------------------------------------

Cruz: Democrats Push False Roe v. Wade Narrative at Barrett Hearing, States Could Legalize Abortion

I do think that it is interesting that our Democratic colleagues, No. 1, do not discuss what would actually happen if there came a day in which Roe v. Wade were overruled, which is namely that it would not suddenly become the case that abortion was illegal but rather it would revert to the status of the laws [as has] been for nearly 200 years of our nation’s history. Which is that the question of the permissibility of abortion is a question for elected legislatures at the state levels and at the federal level.

“It is difficult to dispute that there are great many jurisdictions, including jurisdictions like California and New York, who even if Roe v. Wade were no longer the law of the land, their elected legislatures would almost certainly continue unrestricted access to abortion with virtually no limitations,” Cruz said.

Moreover, Cruz pointed out, while Democrats seem concerned that Barrett would bring a pro-life component to the court, they are in no way concerned that liberal judges embrace abortion rights to the extreme, including those who voted against the federal ban on partial birth abortion — the practice of aborting a baby by delivering it legs first and then sucking out the brain.

This right here. This is the key.

This soft revolution is being funded and publicly supported by powers like the ABA who make money off it - like any other well researched marketing scheme. They've created a golem tho - a risky strategy. The revolution eats its own. One party isn't going to make it out of this alive.
