Oh, yeah. But I can't find a woman who appreciates it.

Yes, when I feel safe and secure enough to be one.

I would like to leave notes for my hubby telling him how much I love him, or to come home from work with a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom only to find out that he has arranged for the kids to go to grandma's for the weekend, etc.

I like to write poetry for my beloved, read to him, surprise him with things, etc. but I have to feel that those things are appreciated and not taken for granted, and I don't show that side of myself right away because it makes me feel too vulnerable. Also in the past I have been accused of loving too much, and it made me realize that not everyone is a romantic! Not everyone lives for love or their lover and some people actually find such displays of affection smothering.

Can you believe that?! HMPH! I didn't at first. But it's true LOL.

Now I tone it down a bit until I know what I'm dealing with.

When I have a girlfriend, I sneak notes in her jacket pocket for her to find later. And I write long letters sometimes. It's more personal than texting, and in a way is more personal than talking on the phone (both of which we will be doing a lot). With life being the way it is, you can't always see each other every day unless you live together. I send flowers for no reason, and I like to send them to her at work, so my girl can feel extra special. I also invented Valentine's Day Week. Like a Baker's Dozen concept, it's for 8 days, with the 8th day being February 14th. And each day I take my girlfriend to somewhere special to eat and plan other romantic things. I plan everything. Lots of surprises. Looks like I might be single this year. Then it becomes Single Awareness Day.

StarrofVenusGirl & Randall
SIGH
I've never had that done for me.
So far, all the men I have been married or engaged to.....
All wanted and EXPECTED romance from me.
But none ever reciprocated fully or at all in turn.
Oh yeah, the standard holidays....
those dreadfully commercialized days to make an "appointment" to try and be romantic....
Valentine's Day, Sweetest Day.
Fraking depressing.
LOL (sarcastic bitter laughter here)
And those days were rarely remembered either.
Many gifts given as thinly veiled bribes, to appease their guilt as they went off to get drunk or buy something not in the budget.

My husband from whom I am now separated, well he tried to be romantic sometimes.
But not enough. And rarely.
~sigh~

I like getting things at work. It's my secret like. It makes my Mars in Leo feel queenly and special and I want to preen and brag to all the other ladies that my man is so much better than theirs because he sends me trinkets...except I don't have to say a word because the gifts do all the talking for me LOL.

They are always prominently displayed until everything is dead, then carefully pressed and put away in my secret box of treasures (that I would die if anyone found because it has a bunch of ridiculously sentimental items in it).

Every girl likes to brag and show off the flowers, balloons, candy, and gifts to her co-workers. That's why I do it.

Yeah, maybe Santa will bring me a girlfriend who isn't a whack-job and whom I can trust. Santa, you better get a bigger sack, because I want toys, too! Not those kind of toys, Nicki. Bad girl!

When a girl is on my arm, she becomes the center of my universe. If any word would describe me, it's "attentive." But without being clingy or smothering in any way. There's that happy medium thing again. I should have been a tightrope walker.
