I sobbed for 2 hours ,every night, for 6 months. If I had not had God to hold,I could not have done it. The pain was so raw ,it was like an actual burn. God provides emotional healing through tears. Little by little I stopped being so numb and started seeing who I really was. I was not this piece of garbage that I had thought. That was all lies-total lies.No one is a piece of garbage--ever.------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. He who controls his Spirit is greater than he who controls a city Proverbs IP: Logged |

Dear Lechien You don't need the book. The book is only his own personal story of crying and how it cured so many ailments, emotional and physical. He has a chapter on "how" to cry but that how to chapter is obvious lol------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Tears are from heaven and it's good to have a really good cry but I don't cry much on medication just a little now that I am drinking freashly squeezed juices. I cry more often and feel sad instead of depressed but because of the tears and crying I can start to feel happiness again.IP: Logged |

Hi, I'm new and glad to be here. I came across your site looking for a way to heal, and caught the name of the book I'd heard of, Cure By Crying. I cannot find that book used for less than $70. What in the world!! If anyone has suggestions or tips on where to get a used copy for a lot less money, would you let me know? I only knew abut the book because my sis is in primal therapy($$$) and I've heard her rave positivly about the book. Thanks, All. Happy, safe Fourth for you and yours, Susie, Seattle IP: Logged |

Hi SusieinSeattle Yes,this is a wonderful community. Newbies are very welcome. We all started as Newbies! Yes, the book is out of print--so silly when it is so wonderful. There are no cheap copies around I do not think. I bought mine for 40 dollars,I think. It was worth every penny ,though,to me. ------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung I am my Beloved's.My Beloved is mine. I hope so, tho I'm glad to hear you found a copy for 40....i'll just keep looking. I think my sis found her copy at Goodwill for a couple bucks. Arrgh! We're on the outs at the moment so I don't think she'd table out differences long enough to loan me a copy...I'll find one, i'll just keep looking.Night All, Susie, Seattle IP: Logged |

Dear Susie All you have to do is read the book once or twice .It sticks with you. The main thing you get out of it is a paradigm shift that crying is good. Crying is the only way to empty out the right side of the brain which HOLDS trauma. You could talk until you were blue in the face and never heal. Once you get that basic premise ,you do not need to refer to the book, again, imo. However,it may take a few readings to get it ------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung I am my Beloved's.My Beloved is mine. Yes Susie I wish it would come back in to print. The upshot of the book was that he cured all kinds of things by crying. He got rid of many emotional problems .He also cured migraines. He cried a half an hour a day with his wife. You need to find someone with whom you do not have a lot of issues lol You need to find what Alice Miller calls an Enlightened Witness. The person needs to just let you cry and feel freely. They are there to make you feel safe cuz this stuff is too scary to face alone Were you an abused child as I was?------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung I am my Beloved's.My Beloved is mine. The split is spiritual and physical and it may involve several parts of the brain, but the most obvious split is between the left and right side of the brain. Before the split, the child has the potential to use talents from both sides, a full range of creativity, language, music, logic. After the split, the child will live more in one side, and less in the other. This is why we find people who have great mechanical skill, but can't express thoughts, or people will musical genius and no common sense. One part of the brain is blocked, the other side gets double use. After the split, the child is no longer real. The real self has been hidden away because she knows that her parents cannot accept her as she really is. What is left is an actress. Instead of an original personality, she has learned performance: the sweet little "angel," or the "brat," or the "scholar," or she pretends to be "stupid." Whatever the parents can accept becomes the performance. In the beginning, the child may know she is acting, but 20 years later, she is unaware of her own acting. Her real personality is forgotten and out of reach. pg. 37
Thank youfor posting that. I finally found the book for $25 plus shipping on Amazon. I'm very excited, and a little scared. I think I'm going to ask my therapist to sort of go thru it with me. I did have a brief emergency appointment with a make therapist but i just don't think i can commit to a male therapist, it would just be too....pointless? I have too many issues with men and there would be so much transferance going on i wouldn't know which way was up or down. Have any women on here had male therapists? How did it go? Thank you all for being here!! IP: Logged |

Ami Anne, Yes, I was. Since the age of two. Emotionally, mentally, and physically. And sexually by a neighbor. Ugh. I've known for a long time that you can't heal a heart, mind, soul as an adult with talk therapy (well, it helps some) if the abuse happened before the child had verbal skills, much less abstract thinking. It's hard-wired in a person. And btw, I love and adore Alice Miller. I want to get her latest book. My current therapist uses cognitive therapy, which to me is like a Band-aide and not much more. I see her for half an hour every other week, tho the state pays for it so obviously ya get what ya pay for. I'm sorry to whine, i know all over the world, especially like in Somalia, people have it so rough, awful. Maybe it's all relative, i don't know. Here in Seattle a woman runs a group once a month on how to regain self-protective skills, for women who hav been abused, since they are often targets as adults for predators. I will make a gratitude list after I leave the site tonite. Inside i kind of roll my eyes but it does sort of help a little. I'm so glad you're here.... Susieinseattle IP: Logged | |
