I think I told you that lately it has all been about synchronicity, there are lots of "coincidences" in my life. I'm watching a documentary about Richard the Third, a sociopath as he is depicted by Shakespeare and at some point, he hires two murderers to kill his brother. Here is their conversation:"- Faith, certain dregs of conscience are here within me. - Remember our reward, when the deed is done. - Come, he dies. - Where's thy conscience now? - In the Duke of Gloucester's purse. When he opens his purse to give us thy reward... ...thy conscience flies out. - 'Tis no matter. - Few or none entertain it. - What if it come to thee again? - I'll not meddle with it. It makes a man a coward. A man cannot steal, but it accuseth him. A man cannot lie, but it cheques him. A man cannot lie with his neighbor's wife but it detects him. And any man that means to live well endeavors to trust to himself and live without it." IP: Logged |

Thank you (((Maira)))------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . I have come to my conclusion.First of all,if you have a conscience,be grateful cuz you can be in the family of man. It is a blessing even if it makes you roll around in guilt. At least you have it ,------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . My conclusion is this An N stopped maturing at 5-6,emotionally. An N has some vestige of a conscience although it is skewed by enormous ego involvement.A Sociopath stopped maturing at 3-PRE conscience. Picture a 3 year old tearing his cookie away from his brother. It is cute at 3. A BPD had their sense of self shattered. They are trying to hold together a solid self which others take for granted. They have a conscience. Any comments?Please--no disses.I will ignore.I like respectful dialogue. If I ignore you,it is cuz I don't feel yours is lol ------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . How do you know you are human? You have what everyone else does--an ego, pride, shame, wants, needs. When you believe in Jesus as I do,you believe ANYONE can heal. Jesus died for all "sins" past ,present and future. He is the Name above all names. This is NOT to get in to a religious discussion which is for Divine Diversities-----not that I am gonna go there any time soon This is just to say that EVERY person can heal.No one is so bad that he is hopeless ------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . My other conclusion is that you can learn from the sociopath --one thing--to respect your animal instincts. They are animal instincts. When you get "socialized" you lose them. This is not good lol------------------ Enlightenment doesn't result from sitting around visualizing images of light, but from integrating the darker aspects of the self into the conscious personality Jung You must lose your life for My sake in order to find it . I seemed hardwired with empathy, and it got me into trouble at times. An example was when I was 4 and started crying as I saw a calf branded on a table. I cried even harder when an uncle told me it "didn't hurt" as he'd lied to me as it obviously did hurt. Shortly after I was served burgers and then told I'd help eat a cow I was fond of. I didn't really understand and said she tasted good. It was days later before I realized I wasn't ever going to see her again. The lesson intended was that cows are livestock not pets but the lesson I took from it was be careful about loving anything honestly lest it be destroyed. Because of this I have a tendency toward bemusement when I hear children learn conscience and empathy when with me it was the reverse: I had it and some in my family tried to stomp it out. Still, it wasn't like there were many other children with too much empathy and compassion. But in my working with children I've noticed children (at least by the time they're 5) seem slightly more inclined to fair play than adults in general. IP: Logged |

I realize what attracted me to a sociopath. My own inner sociopath was squashed. We all have one cuz we all went through the amoral stage(age 3-4,I think) The sociopath stayed there. Other people developed compensating factors BUT also lost their inner sociopath if they were abused. The inner sociopath does all that a tiger in the wild does.It senses danger. It has primal passions etc etc Many "socialized" people and/or people who were abused have become so "civilized" that this inner animal is squished down to the point that it is not accessible to them. Enter the sociopath who oozes with this.
