Holy **** those comments are sad...

"I agree with you. I’m 31 and single and will probably never marry now- because I’m psychologically incapable of being interesting to a woman. Its not that I don’t want to marry but I’m unattractive and uninteresting. I have a good job and have completed a PhD- what I’m no good at is human interaction- I have tons of friends but cannot work out how to ask someone out and as you argue I’ve run out of time. To be honest most of the time I think about this I contemplate suicide- your article is helpful in that it shows me how hopeless my situation really is and why I should commit suicide."

"Thanks. Thanks a lot. It’s so GOOD to know that at 46, never having dated, never having had a woman, I might as well kill myself since all I have to look forward to is more of the same. Thanks."

i should have known nobody would get the point of those two articles... all of you will prolly see those guys comments and think"oh,how pathetic.' but fail to see the clear anti-male bias in these articles, again in case it wasnt made clear the article tells men"its all your fault you are lonely." does anybody not see how that attitude would breed resentment in men? all society wants to do is bash mens issues, people never want to ask" hmm, i wonder why some men are angry?"

Their self confidence or lack thereof is obvious. No change in the belief in oneself and esteem. They did not value themselves. Would be the first thing I'd change.

To be fair I didn't read the women's version.

The men's just seemed factual. It presented findings though unsubstantiated. (I think)

it says men will never know the loneliness that women feel... but the mens versions"its mens fault they are lonely." see the differences in attitude there? they are very subtle so it may be hard to catch

the mens aryicle says "men have unrealistic expectations." has anybody read a womans profile on a dating site? if we are gonna accuse men of being unrealistic we have to say the same about women.

YES obviously some people are sexist against men. Some are sexist against women. That is reality.

But here's an invitation!

Will you please consider joining the majority of people who don't get hung up on this cr*p? You have the choice to not feel resentment. You are strong enough to not be manipulated by other people's weaknesses...aren't you?

that doesnt mean a whole lot... because some of those men may be gay and some of those women may be lesbians... also i have talked to men in their 40s and 50s who have never been married despite trying to find a woman to marry their entire adult lives.. is it all their fault that they are lonely?

Rise above it.

Everyone gets stigmatized for something. We all do. There is no escape except through your mind.

Natal chart. #astroforum #theirjourneynotmine

R u trying to say it is because of the reactions women give them when they approach?

Then I tell those two to try something different.

no, thats not neccesarily what i'm saying, though bad reactions dont really help that.... i'm saying peoples perception of confidence and how it works is skewed... confidence is esentially your brain rewarding you with feel good chemicals when you achieve something, thats it... its not the magical recipe to landing a big job or getting the girl, you get confidence after achieving those things lol.. telling someone who is down on their luck to be confident has no intrinsic value to them, as an example: i have had lots of luck finding jobs and as a result i am really confident going into interviews, because i have had good luck getting jobs, however a person who has been unemployed for over 2 years and cant find a job wouldnt be confident, and me telling them to be wouldnt help..

I sent that article to my boyfriend the other day. It's very thought-provoking, albeit depressing. A woman's value is tied up so much in her appearance

Wait, wait -

I haven't read anything in this thread (skimmed) and then I saw "Justin Beiber" and "rape" in the same vicinity, which I just found ironically hysterical (not rape, but Justin Beiber... I mean it's Justin Beiber c'mon) When was he addressing rape? I'm so surprised because surely this would've been in the Yahoo News ticker at some point of my internet browsing!

http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/02/justin-bieber-rolling-stone-m isquoted-controversial-rape-comment.html

I've read the article in its entirety (in the magazine, I think you can find a small part of it online) and IMO it's actually hilarious, and not so much because he's so naive & sheltered but because how wet in the panties (and thus very unprofessional) the reporter interviewing him was.

Oh, and it was a big deal when it came out in 2011.
