You might find the thread on addiction interesting...and I think Whiskey Lullaby as well as Suicide Note appropriate there. Heck, maybe I'll post both vids there later if you don't...

That aside, country can be so bleak and depressing! I'm amazed people drink to it, I even knew some depressive goths who were impressed with it, like Dolly Parton's Mountain Angel (even coming back as a despairing ghost after a life of despair was a nice touch...). I mentioned some of these songs (the Dolly Parton one impressed them the most) after I heard them talking about Johnny Cash's cover of of Hurt, where they said he took it from NIN and made it his. I'd think it would be a bad idea to get drunk to too many songs like that...

Ah well, the ending of Whiskey Lullaby reminds me of the ending of another sad ending country song (though arguably bittersweet, and I remember what a mind twist the ending was the first time I watched this vid), Concrete Angel by Martina McBride:

Nobody gets this **** till you are there, either by experience of a loved one opting out or contemplating onself..

Both for me..but I am too "chicken"

I dont have a good feeling what awaits those whose who opt out...

I choose to sit and wait in my pain (especially with this friggin Saturn thing playing with my 12th house...)

This is why I called it strenght in the other thread and why I continue to do so...

It is not "strenght" as per a human in contact with self...but I cant even imagine commiting the act...

Like I said I am too scared....

I am quite ready to die...but when my times comes up, aint gunna push it, tho as a Pisces sun, I think I don anyway...

I'm going to try to find something that I wrote down - a quote.

Although, I think too much loss can harden a heart, too. Mine feels like it's getting there. I'm trying to find my SAM-E, and hoping that it will help me today. After a mostly nice weekend, I'm feeling really low again. I'm glad that you have the strength to not do anything so drastic; for me, I've been wondering if I'm supposed to - it seems to be the only direction in which I'm being pushed, unless I'm just missing something right now.

^ Beautiful, teasel...

"A Poem About Life"
by Lysa Mateu

First I was dying
to finish high school and start college.

And then I was dying
to stop working and get married.

And soon after, I was dying
to have children.

And then I was dying
for my children to be old enough

to go to school
so I could return to work.

And now, I am Dying...
And as I sit back and survey my life,

I suddenly realize
I forgot to do one enormously important thing...

I Forgot to Live.

HOW COULD ANYONE
by Libby Roderick

how could anyone ever tell you
you are anything less than beautiful

how could anyone ever tell you
you are less than whole

how could anyone fail to notice
that your Loving is a miracle

and how deeply you're connected to my soul
