I'm not certain spinning ones wheels counts as being athletic AA. For me, they'd have to be athletes with interests other then just athletics. I really do not want to hear yet another rehashed story..bleech. IP: Logged |

Writers, poets, artists, musicians are ususally great lovers, but I have dated a couple who I just could not mesh well with sexually and relatonship-wise...no matter how hard i tried to. I really loved that aspect of them (same mental wave-length, good people), but could not handle how different or unbalanced we were in other areas. I've been with some 'beefcake' types, but they also had a great mind and soul, heart. I can't be with a 'weak' or namby-pamby type of guy. They drain my energy BIG TIME - or that has been the experience with the few of them. Some of them are way too gentle and soft-spoken for me. I like to laugh out loud and have fun, although i am rather laid-back and soft spoken myself, but also know how to have fun. The last artist I dated had a hard time with this one and it really brought my energy down. I felt zapped whenever we left each other's presence and eventually I couldnt do it anymore. Even though he was a great person, had a beautiful heart and mind.....i felt sucked dry and that I could not be myself around him and had to break it off. My spirit felt stifled. So, my answer is that there is no real answer.....it always comes down to how two people blend and play off of each other. There should be a good mix if the right physical and mental chemistry. If you rely on only one or the other, it might not work out.
hmm, would think all of the introversion aimed at creativity and requiring YOU to be the one who draws them out would become very tiring. In a way, when it is said "they have to other interests" is somewhat turned on it's head in that situation. Their introversion runs so deep they have a tough time relating. I'd think with a writer or artistic person, the other half of the relationship would simply have to deal with it as they won't change. IP: Logged |

Well, I am an artist myself and which is why we connected, appreciated, loved one another in the first place. So, I get it, all of that. I understand what it's/they're all about. I am not the easiest person to deal with or relate to in that respect either and consider myself an introvert overall, but not 24/7. The problems might have arisen because at the core were two people who were in some ways - at a core level, way too similar....yet way too different. I don't know. It's hard to explain energy. What works, works. Usually from the get-go. quote: I'd think with a writer or artistic person, the other half of the relationship would simply have to deal with it as they won't change.
Not so much "have to deal with it", because it can be very enjoyable and fluid when you find someone who has some similar interests and artists are usually flexible, but maybe finding someone who is also different in enough ways, so that you can teach each other some things and have fun being yourselves around each other. People are always much more than their main persona in life anyway. I've met "athletes" who were deeper or more open-hearted than some so-called poets or artists.... IP: Logged |

T I'd think it is the way the similarity/dis-similarness manifested itself in the relationship that led to feeling so drained all of the time. You'd laugh and joke, they rarely would for example to express oneself. IP: Logged |

You know who I thought was so sexy? Chrisopher Hitchens. Do you guys know him? He was a writer who recently died. I loved the way words rolled off his tongue. I thought Johnny Cochran of the OJ trial was super sexy for the same reason and John Gibosn of Fox News who looks like a rabbit

Please don't be rude. It ain't cool. I represented my country as a road cyclist at the national level and I was also a track cyclist specializing in sprint snd pursuit. I am a third degree black belt at Tae Kwon Do. I was the captain of my school tennis team. I am a qualified US Airborne Ranger and I trained with the Israeli Special Operations. I was an infantry company commander. I witnessed more athleticism in the military from regular Joes than Heisman trophy winners will see in the NFL in a lifetime. IP: Logged |

Good question, says a lot about personality in the way people answer this. Emotions/thoughts vs. physical bodies......A writer for me easily. I think there is more depth generally and this endures over time, compared to just something physical.IP: Logged |

Christopher Hitchens was a very bright guy, I admired his intelligence and speaking ability. Never found him attractive personally, a bit too egoist sounding for my taste. It's sad that he is gone because he was a great, and strong, voice in journalism.
