I am shocked at how much my son looks at looks with girls. Men seem to think differently than we do. For me, with a guy, looks don't count that much.To me, it is really their ability to communicate-Venus in Gemini. The above is just my experience with my son but a mother/son relationship has few fake things in it, so that is what I am seeing. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Ami did you realized something? The better you treat a man being sweet and nice, the easier he treats you as dirtIP: Logged |

Woah slow down there. Nobody likes being treated like dirt. But I think everyone should be treated nicely You're never a Plain Jane if you consciously make just a tiny effort to not be one. It isn't too difficult to not be a Plain Jane. The fact of the matter is that looks are very much part of the equation, whether you like it or not. IP: Logged |

I'm about the most politically incorrect person here, and so I shall tell it the way I see fit. In general, women want a man who is taller than they are, weighs more, stronger, smarter, perhaps more education, more confidence, less whinny, a better job, more wealth, etc. On the same token, men in general want a woman who looks better, weighs less, etc. Actually, I also want charisma, personality, confidence and all the good stuff. What do you consider a Plain Jane? If we are talking strictly looks, most of Hollywood are horrid looking with no make-up. So, are they actually Plain Janes in disguise? Or just not attractive? To me, a Plan Jane is a natural beauty. IP: Logged |

I'm not nearly as picky about looks as most guys but I will say all women can look pretty if they try. IP: Logged |

Everything you said is true but this ^ . [/B][/QUOTE]I refuse to weigh less than the 110 pound to 120 pound women I dated. Lol Sorry. I need my women to at least be moderately fit. A number if women I dated were insanely fit. Like I said, my wife in her mid-40s just did a shorten triathlon with me at a competitive time against 18 year olds. I'm not trying to be nasty but I'll speak my mind. No need to choke down salads, because I'll eat salads only to a certain extent and I like my meat. But we ain't hitting KFC and Popeye's four times a week. IP: Logged |

Looks are very subjective, so I wouldn't consider yourself a Plain Jane all the time. Though I know how difficult it can be to not do that. The beauty obsession in our culture is one that seems to pervade every area of life. I am just as aware of this being a male, and am sensitive to it also. I try not to be a looks driven person at all. It says something about an individual when they need to fit a certain type, or their friends have to look, wear a certain thing. I know it is in our nature, and in biology to favor beauty, but I think if you are an informed person, and had trials in life, you'll realize it should not define someone, or affect the way they are treated. What is frustrating is seeing it happen all the time. I have to learn to not let it get to me when I see "attractive" people treated better than those who are more "average" physically. IP: Logged |

That wasn't what I was referring to. I was addressing what you said about women liking guys who weigh more than them because I disagree. The trend I have been seeing is curvy and overweight women are increasingly demanding that their guy be in tip top shape. I have lost count of all the women I have seen with guys who are skinnier than them. The kind of guys who are 6 ft + and weigh between 130 and 150 pounds and wear skinny jeans. Gone are the days when women were attracted to tall husky guys.

Well said! I'm too scattered to have said it as well. I'm discovering that I'm probably older than, well at least 50% of the people on here. I love a plain Jane. To me it doesn't mean no make-up, or hair done up nice, or perfume, etc. etc. It's very difficult to explain but if they make an obvious effort to show off their body, hey I might look, I'm not dead. But I wouldn't want her. There is temp worker at my work. She's very attractive naturally, I can tell. Man does she cake on the make-up. It just ruins it for me. She has enormous fake boobs and she doesn't hesitate to show them off and make rounds talking to all the men. To me, it's warning signals about her personality. Which, I could be wrong! To me it just says that she could actually be very insecure with herself and knows what attributes can and are getting her attention to support where she lacks self-esteem. Just my opinion!! Don't kill me now. LOL I don't mind just some nice jeans and a t-shirt or you know, just very casually dressed. Easy make-up just to accentuate. Give me a few clues about her body but let me use some imagination. I don't need tons of help. I have a great imagination! Personality is important, I don't want aggressive, but confidence and ability to express their opinions and/or disagreements without being rude. Not a push-over. I do like a woman in uniform for some reason. Women Police.... hot. HAHAHAHA! I know I've said I wouldn't mind being a police officer but that's TOTALLY not why! It's separate. I just want help out the community. I'm terrible with explaining things and I just ramble. Gemini moon I suppose. IP: Logged |

I think being a "Plain Jane" is all about the attitude. Someone who's mediocre can stand out if he/she really wants to. Then, there are also a lot of people who are barely noticeable but have lots of potential. I'm not saying it's a choice per se, but a plain jane can be a superstar with the right attitude and approach to life. ETA: I can't speak for all the guys here, but I think that if someone *truly* loves/likes you, it doesn't matter to them whether you're a plain jane or not IP: Logged |

Yes I agree. I'm so horrible with explaining things sometimes but I have to practice right? LOL I think attitude is the most important because you could take the situation I exampled and switch attitudes between the big boob woman and a "plain Jane" and I would be turned off by the "plain Jane". Hahahaha. Mirror mirror on the wall.... I'll stop there because I'll get rude and offend a whole bunch of women. Looks don't matter to angelic you. So that's wonderful. Well, they do to me in a major way. Suffice to say, homie don't do "curvy."
