As for the closed thread, what comes to mind is a Biblical quote:

"Wounds from a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses."

AA..your passive aggressive meter is being spiked atm..can understand long running beefs, what I cannot understand is snark then spirituality being tossed in

I'm not quite sure whom that is supposed to bring honor to, Love you to pieces little one..not sure what you are doing.

I think anyone who knows me well would acknowledge that I usually do the same thing.

I have a long-standing contention with Ami. You seem to have an ongoing contention with aquaguy and Padre. Maybe the only difference with the level of drama is, those two don't go ballistic on you and then shut down the thread drawing attention to it, every time you voice your disagreement or roll your eyes at their opinions. Nor do they try and shame you for questioning them, by bringing up their painful past and trying to make you look like a monster for daring to trouble someone who's been through a lot of trauma. Not that I've seen, anyway.

I knew that Ami habitually exaggerates the length of time she's been here. This was brought to my attention by another longstanding member. But I was mistaken, to pin that on her registration date.

It's hard to apologize for something when your methods were wrong but your conclusions were right. She was demanding an apology while putting me down ("someone like you would never apologize") and it was hard for me to see where I really needed to apologize. True, I went about things the wrong way, and she's been here longer than I initially thought. But my basic point was correct.

And I call it a lie, not an exaggeration, because on a regular basis she boasts about being a mod for "five years," and seems to be asking people to grant her respect and stature on that basis. She's only been here four years, and she knew basically nothing about astrology when she arrived.

As for the larger matter of where I fit in at LL, you raise a good point that my preferences are not in line with the forum's. I reached this same conclusion when Randall wouldn't ban the very prickly SaggiMc, and I was ready to go peaceably, when a change of events resulted in SaggiMC being banned.

I like a lot of people here so it's hard to go. But on some level it really is not healthy for me to be here. You're right.

I'm sure I'm hypocritical all the time (as are we all), but hell - one doesn't have to be perfect to recognize fault in others. Which is why I am always happy to receive (constructive) criticism, whether or not I think the person giving it is some exalted being.

I don't really see the problem here to be honest. When people criticize you should obviously look at who they are and take it with a grain of salt... But that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen.

Edit: this post does not refer to any one post, but to the thread in general.

Faith,

I'm glad you see that your interactions with Ami are not constructive (for either of you). It is very obvious it has reached a level of unhealthy toxicity, where she is being passively aggressive and you more directly so. But I wish you wouldn't consider leaving. I think you bring so much to this forum, and it would truly be our loss. Would it not be easier to ignore her?

Thanks Ellyn, that's nice of you.

Sibyl, it's difficult for me to talk about leaving because it opens up a whole new can of worms. Basically my argument isn't even with Ami so much as it is with Randall, so on that note, it's probably best to go.

If I leave I will post a clear Goodbye, until then assume I am lurking and thinking.

So it kinda fits, that I was clashing especially hard with what I consider to be "the secret world of LL," and its authority structure, right when the new moon hit my moon.

There is actually a lot of collective frustration with how this site is run, though newer members don't always see it.

It's the older members and our experiences and concerns that are almost systematically dismissed and belittled, which I find very unjust and hard to deal with. If we all came together to tell our story it would be "ganging up." When one of us starts to tell the whole story it is "blowing things out of proportion."

So far the entire story does sit there like a ghost in the background. Not everyone sees it. I have an 8H Pisces moon, and it's in my face all the time.

I agree a lot with what everyone said here and sometime later will respond more intently, if it's not closed. But I have to say that the reason I started this thread is because for me it seems like a lot of women that I've seen here and known in real life were extremely hypocritical and Ami Anne's actions on the other thread kind of tossed this into gear. Hypocrisy is on thing that I just don't understand fully. Why's it even exist? Why can't people just shut their mouths of any judgements or false statements. Why's it so easy to lie? I know all of those answers just curious in the logical sense that's all. I apologize if I started another war here. That wasn't my intention. I was very curious at the time. That's all for now I'll comment more later.

Barbiegirl,

I personally think it is important to judge others. It is the only feedback on our behavior that we will ever get. And because we are imperfect and sometimes don't fully understand ourselves it sometimes happen that we recognize in others what we cannot see in ourselves. So although it is important to tell someone they are a hypocrite when they are, I also think it is important to recognize that it is rarely ill-meant when we criticize others of something we ourselves are guilty of.

How would any person know any of that unless they ask? Yes we all have faults but some of us a hell of a lot more that others. I don't like passing judgements and just can't fathom why people feel they are immoral and the ultimate person and have too. That leads to more conflict is all that I'm saying. Which is fine but it would be kept at one hell of a level if people just fixed and worked on themselves first before saying anything. When you're perfect, which no one ever will be then you can judge another person. Until then close your mouth.
