Congrats YTA that's great!! And I'm sure he'll do just fine with the support he has from you guys... It's also great that he's doing something practical with pre-med but also fulfilling with piano. Although I know even that can be extremely competitive, but if he enjoys it then it's worth it. I really wish I would've stuck with playing the viola lol...IP: Logged |

Thanks for your extremely kind compliment but I don't quite deserve something to that extent I just do my best as a parent and pretty much sink all my energy and resources to back up my family in any manner possible. I have many faults, among which are my prolonged absence furing the work week, high expectations, overly-strict behaviorial standards and short patience for lackluster efforts. In return, I reward amply, hoping that my children are raised properly and do like me. My carrots are large, but so are my sticks. My parenting methods are not meant for everyone and not applicable to all kids. All I want now at this point in my life is to spoil happy grandchildren and leave a legacy of family unity and happiness. YTA, Obviously I do not know you or your family that well, but based on your posts about your son I think his success speaks volumes about the type of parents he has (excellent ones!). Speaking as a PhD student it is exciting to see someone have the opportunity to be a part of higher education- not everyone has the ability to do so. Higher education has completely transformed my life and being that your son is very gifted I have no doubt he will have a wonderful experience! IP: Logged |
