Yes, the statistics.. People are far more promiscuous then that.. Those statistics might have been accurate 40 or 50 years ago but not now. IP: Logged |

4 Pages already? Really? No thanks, will not read. But looks like ISC is getting really good at this. I will say that I have been friends with prostitutes before. Kinda impossible not to be when you're a runaway as I once was. I remember some of them more fondly than I do some others who automatically assume prostitutes are bad people. IP: Logged |

AG - Actually they're not more promiscuous than the stats suggest. They just seems to be, and you're fooled by appearances. You're not a little fly in their bedroom my darling. I would bet on just about anything - that you wouldn't be able to find more than (at the absolute most) a handful of people on LL who had sex with more than 3 partners till date... and a handful is really stretching it. What??? Do you mean at once? I don't get it. The people I know in RL who have had sex with 3 or fewer people are in a clear minority. I can only really think of a few who are in longterm relationships... And a couple of religious people. IP: Logged |

I would not hesitate to be friends with her,Only if she acknowledges her past and repents enough to change her ways. And that is what the entire scene where jesus touches her alludes to. This condition is a necessary adjunct for all broken women and it requires faith in god to acknowledge the past inorder to mend her ways and lead a different lifestyle thereafter. And not to mention those who use her services with continued impunity and later disavow her, do play a major part in pushing her away farther from reality. "The Gospels record several instances where Jesus reaches out to "unnoticeable" women, inconspicuous silent sufferers who blend into the background and are seen by others as "negligible entities destined to exist on the fringes of life." Jesus notices them, recognizes their need and, "in one gloriously wrenching moment, He thrusts them on center stage in the drama of redemption with the spotlights of eternity beaming down upon them, and He immortalizes them in sacred history. His heart is tender and broken over the plight of women caught in the trap of prostitution" IP: Logged |

I would be a friend of her anyhow. Most women today would have been considered "prostitutes" in the time of Jesus, wouldn't they? My family wouldn't like it, if they knew. I don't think it's about moral corruption. A person can take the wrong turn. Sometimes by choice, sometimes not. Some are abused as children. Some are abducted and sold from different countries. Some just want to make easy money. It is not about fault, even if you don't understand those who willingly sell their bodies. If that is what they are doing, they are sure to have problems. I heard a woman tell about how she arrived to this "work". She called it work. She wanted to have a convenient life earning more money than she could have from another kind of "work for unproffessionals". Today she is a journalist. She used the money to study. She says her "work" damaged her emotionally. But she has defended herself. She gave us all sort of folks a lecture about her life, and to my great surprise it were the men who attacked her. My point is, you can't judge. IP: Logged |

Faith in god will require of her to stop selling her body. "She found the faith in a crowd to force her way up to Jesus" She chose God. IP: Logged |

I probably didn't understand you. I was also referring to what others said about the moral corruption. Thing is, no one really likes being a prostitute. Even that woman i told you about, who was not repentant, has admitted she was damaged. She was also very defensive. Thing is, repentance is a very subtle, inner kind of thing. I never had a "real" all-the-way prostitute friend, but a friend of mine once sold herself. She was in a hard condition mentally and emotionally and was not totally aware of what she was doing. She told me only afterward, after she recovered. and prostitution also makes the woman an outcast. She finds herself in the crime world, and becomes twice a victim: both by those who use her and by society that shuns her. IP: Logged |

What's wrong with you people? I left the separation of Church and state question completely out in the open there, but did anyone pick up on that one? No. But that's okay. Happy Easter, anyway!

I forget about these things sometimes, as I wasn't raised in a religious environment, but went to church and became involved of my own accord at a young age. And then I went on to embrace many spiritual beliefs and combine them into...whatever one would call my spiritual beliefs. So of course I see the loaded question now, hahaha. (Clever, Cappy.) This one's for you Cappy. (It's a compliment.) She's Craaafftay! http://youtu.be/CFFS3ndWSJ4 IP: Logged |
