I think it'd be quite hard to get to know them though. I'd wonder about their traumas n emotional baggage. And the possibility of drug addiction n whatnot. Prostitution may not deter me but other things that associate with it may.

One is morally corrupt, whereas the other is most likely carrying allot of emotional and psychological baggage. I think it is unnatural to want to prostitute yourself, and therefore there has to be something wrong with the person. I would not wish to bring someone into my life that I feel would bring me down and be a burden to me. That might be selfish, but so be it. I do not want to have to carry other people. I have done that too much in my life, and still sometimes do. So I would rather keep the people who are already in my life and have challenges than bring new ones in.

As to women who marry men for money, I would not personally do it. But I do respect the people I know who are motivated in part by such gains. Why ever not? They are in serious, committed relationships. Some people get together with people they don't love for the companionship and the attention. Some people get together with people they don't love for the companionship, the attention and the money. I don't see the issue. If you can't, for whatever reason, have love - why not go for the next best thing?

I think prostitution is different. It's impersonal. It's degrading. You're not building something with someone. It's not safe. You hang out with people with issues. Chances are, you have issues to. If you don't when you start, I think you will by the time you're done. [/B]

Honestly, I wouldn't know what to do. Tough to dwell in hypotheticals.

Tough to just be friends and not dispense unwelcomed advice, if not lectures that are not souht after.

There's a fundamental difference in values, and therefore, such friendship would be highly unlikely.

I've known a lot of prostitutes, escorts, and strippers. Not one of them didn't have a drug habit, a history of childhood sexual abuse, and/or serious mental health issues.

I've never done anything like that personally, but I've known plenty of women who did, and not one of them did it because she enjoyed the sex and/or the money.

I agree with Sibyl and SSS, and that is based on experience in the real world.
So in answer to the question, NO.
Would I try to point them to resources where they could find help? Yes I would.
