Yes, I'm sure if somebody wanted to they could figure out which one lol but I guess we should be aware that is what we are openly exposing here. The other thing is you can still mostly control your interactions and circle in real life but the reality is the internet is a much bigger place and what is exposed here is not entirely in your control. You cannot confront someone in it's interspace either. I always keep that in mind. Still, its a wonderful community to make new friends.

My attitude dovetails with your in many respects..though I can't say in my case there has been much clear thinking about it...just my habitual distrust of the surveillance state and online pedos having access to my children's info and whereabouts (which is partly why I'm not on FB and don't have a blog.)

But your post is inspiring me to actually try and think this out.

Definitely. In a strange way it makes me happy to know they haven't been targeted. At least, for now, the NSA has better things to do than troll LL looking for crimes to investigate. Actually for years, I kept my astrology interest secret from my redneck/Christian friends (I say "redneck" affectionately and consider myself a part-time redneck), then I guess it was last year I finally "came out" to my one friend (ironically I think she was born the same day as Randall.)

Last week we were hanging out with several other friends and our children, and my friend said to me across the room, "I spent like an hour last night trying to remember the birthday of my ex-boyfriend, since I knew you would LOVE to know that."

OMG I shouldn't have told her. LOL

Just as I typed that one of said Christian friends called me on the phone and I had to bluff like I wasn't laughing at the timing. See this is my life, living between two worlds. (As they perceive it...I'm not the one who erected the electric fence between "religious" and "occultic" interests.)

I do get creeped out when I think of data collection and my paranoid streak gets active at night...sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up wondering what the h*ll I'm doing saying so much online anyway...but my regular thinking takes it as a calculated risk, as indulging in simple Free Speech (which is what I actually believed I had, growing up...ahhhh, nostalgia!), as an inevitable part of life in modern society, where the internet is connecting everyone whether we participate or not.

As you said, if Big Brother wants to know something about me, he may already be able to extract a lot, just by looking at what's been said about me online by friends, family, old classmates. It's out of my control anyway. So why not say a little more.

Rome has plenty of more viable, politically feasible, and more compelling targets to go after than me, and even if they just choose someone at random to harass I'm a grain of sand on the beach. It's the locals I'm worried about. Do the local deputies need some more funding? Well find someone to raid and seize their stuff without a trial! Someone want to steal my family's farm? Then arrange to have it seized by the law and then buy it at the auction. Someone hold a grudge against my family (as plenty do)? Let's see what we can find to give us an excuse to make trouble for them. Then the deputies can go out there and if I mentioned details then they could point to that as justification.

I've never seen this conjunct before either Faith but I can see what you mean. It is so comfortable to be around you :] I feel as if there are some instinctual similarities. There is something similar about you like with my best friend actually, as if we could stroll around all day doing all sorts of things completely in our zone I'm afraid I do not know Mirage but their birthday must be around mine so that's cool.
