Yes, BUT one that IMPACTS SOCIETY in the long run. For better or worse. Moral codes need exist for the health, cohesion & survival of a society.
Maybe, but they don't have to be your moral codes, or Athene's. I prefer knowledge to moral codes. You know, becoming aware of the truth, of the cause and effect principle of what you do to others, for instance. And the law. quote:
As an obvious example, society today is in a state of disintegration. This is an undeniable fact.
I am sorry your eyes see disintegration around you, quite unfortunate and stressful. Mine see progress and evolution everywhere. quote: The cause of this can directly be attributed to the destruction of timeless values by outside forces (eg technology that has been deliberately misused to corrupt society at large)
Condemning technology from your state of the art tablet AGAIN. Tsk tsk tsk I thought hypocrisy is a sin. IP: Logged |

Obviously not since I adamantly disagree. I wonder what your criteria is for your view of disintegration. What objective criteria can you provide? Because, for example, objectively, crime rates are down and lifespans are up. Smoking is down. Oppression is down. Are one of these things the reason for your view that society is disintegrating? Or is it perhaps that your own body is disintegrating as you age and you falsely attribute this to society itself?

Hello to Aquacheeka in Canada, LeeLoo in Romania, and others around the world, from myself in Pennsylvania. Some might say, we are finally and for the first time, integrating. And look...astrology is an ancient science. Time loop IP: Logged |

Hello! Greatest of points, Faith Think that not so long ago, talking to you would probably have been a one life time event only. I, or you, would have had to jump on a horse and ride for months to the water; then wait for years to catch a viking boat or maybe wait for La Pinta and Santa Maria there...and then travel for months and years among many dangers to get to you. And then say "Hello!" and then probably die of exhaustion or various diseases It would have been an incredible memory for you, I'm sure, my Hello, but still ------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... Also as one who feels very damaged by my religious upbringing, I wonder if it's possible to explore those wounds here, so long as I try and give a nod of respect to those still following the religion whose people I hold accountable for injuries. Is it okay to complain about Catholicism if I include qualifiers such as, "This is not meant to criticize all Catholics" ?
I think the only problem is when people try to say "THIS is the truth about this religion" rather than "this is how I PERSONALLY view this religion" In my experience of having been raised religious and choosing to my own spiritual path, many people will feel attacked if you dont approach it gently. IF they still think you are being a jerk when you clearly state that it's your own personal views only, then youve done all you can. IP: Logged |
