And another reason that is such a trigger for me is because women on this very forum have minimized my pain by saying things like "Women worry about being raped. Men worry about having their feelings hurt." Ummm, having your feelings hurt is an issue if you feel so hurt for so long that you seriously consider suicide. Being rejected over and over is no joke. I would not wish the level of rejection I have experienced on anyone, not even the mean women who mock my pain and think it's not a big deal. I have PTSD-like responses when I feel ignored or rejected. So I don't really appreciate when people make fun of my experiences and/or trivialize them.
