Mr Rogers belonged to the childhoods of Lindaland members here, and has deep meaning to Faith (author of this thread) and to myself!

I like having fun, too... But perhaps you didn't realize that your remarks (and Kerosene's) could feel disrespectful?

Around five or ten years ago there was a "fad" of making fun of "the purple dinosaur" (I knew the composer/arranger of Barney's music!! oh yeah!) I can empathize.... The Smurfs also were put down. My Little Pony? So, maybe soon it will be 'Dora The Explorer'? or 'Blue's Clues' or whoever will be next...

I can understand your being uneasy with vulnerable tender feelings of others. It becomes easier to 'make fun of people' than to relate to their history!

To answer your question, I have Misterrogers at 14.47 Sag. My Neptune is at 12.44 Sag, so if you allow a 2 degree, 3 minute separation, they are conjunct!

With the tight orbs required for asteroid aspects, I've got nothing else. But Neptune is enough.

I did get a sense of that as well. It sounds silly for me to say this, but I remember being four, and I had strong reactions to everyone and everything. I was suspicious of Mr. Rogers for a while...finally I considered him one who was in touch with The Dark Side but not dark himself. And I grew to enjoy those, like, whispers of darkness.

Knowing what I do about astrology now, that makes sense.

Also, Mr. Rogers was born the day after Patrick McGoohan. I didn't know about McGoohan until about ten years ago, when I watched The Prisoner TV series from the 60's for the first time. I developed a huge crush on him.

He also seems like one who knows all about darkness (and even starred in a show called Danger Man,) but chose to remain light. His personal life was as squeaky clean as Rogers'.

In other words, neither man is happily oblivious to cruelty...I think they were both SO aware of it that they were driven to challenge it directly by inventing shows for television to counter it. McGoohan wrote most of The Prisoner episodes, which feature a scary-creepy dystopia called The Village. Interestingly both Rogers and McGoohan design their shows to take place in two realities...regular London/Village (Prisoner) and the regular Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and the Land of Make Believe.

If you watch his shows (oh, and my goodness I've watched quite a few recently thanks to my 5-year-old) he talks about a lot of subjects that would be scary to a small child, but does so in a very reassuring way.

Rather than allowing for escape, he pushed these subjects forward and said, "Here this is - this thing that's frightening or not pleasant - but here's how you can deal with it."

Again, very Plutonian (which makes sense if you look at his chart).
