Do you know of any links that can help me understand how Vishnu/Rama would play a part in kundalini awakening?
Kundilini has always been referred to as shakti, meaning female power, hence the link with Kaali and Parvati.
As to Vishnu and Shiva, the two male energies - Vishnu is the preserving or sustaining principle of the universe and Shiva is responsible for dissolution/destruction for regeneration. The two are different faces of the same coin.
In kundalini yoga, each chakra has a presiding deity. Vishnu seated on his mount Garuda, for example, is the deity of the 2nd chakra, Garuda represents the five vayus (breaths) within us : prana, apana, vyana, udana, samana. These five vayus through yoga can be controlled through Pranayama (breathing exercises) which can lead to Kundalini awakening leading to higher levels of consciousness.

Also a key yogic exercise called the Vishnu Bandh (lock) is the exercise used to open the heart chakra. Interestingly, the presiding deity of the heart chakra is Shiva.
The Heart chakra is considered to be the gateway to the higher charkas. Once your Kundalini is able to move up and down this level freely, you are transformed into a loving and compassionate being ready to ascend the last 3 spiritual planes/chakras.
Hence you could say that Vishnu is of equal importance. It doesn't appear to feature as often, perhaps because it hasn't been used in the asteroid charts as often. Shiva is used instead, as he is the form associated with Yoga practice, and traditionally paired with Kaali and Parvati.
However, before you take account of any asteroid, make sure the orbs are tight. No more than one for key significance.
