From Mark Andrew Holmes' site:

"Asteroid Ramirez's astrological signification — victimization, "entering" the space or home of another for a legitimate reason or invading it without legitimacy — seems to come from this."
http://markandrewholmes.com/ramirez.html

I have this asteroid sextiling my Sun and Saturn and squaring my Venus and quintile my MC. It squares Lilith and Pholus too.

I do not like to break in, trespass, and I have no patience in trying to learn how to pick locks, but boy, I have been the recipient of such privacy breaches, like break ins, and ALL my locks being picked. Even the ball bearing ones were shimmed easily! A keylogger was even installed in my PC before! So in my case I was the recipient of such acts. I ran the charts of the perpetrators, and the asteroid was prominent on their charts, aspecting their ASC, MC and North/South Node and personal/outer planets.

So try to see where it falls in your chart, you might be victimized by some privacy breach for all you know in the future. Or you could be the one doing this.

Lucky you! I forgot to say I have this asteroid in my 12th house, so the privacy breach activities are hidden. They're done while I'm away or asleep.

I hate this!

In fact I`ve always dreaded it, and I remember as a teenager was very hurt and upset when my mother used to do it. Not really because wanting to get some secrets out of me, but because Ihad not cleaned up properly and she would throw things onto the floor and force me to clean them up with her. Actually that felt rather abusive and controlling, which she cannot understand (yes we argued about it A LOT).

But so I guess there must be some relation in my chart there, too, that i am missing at the moment. I think the asteroid LIE is ocnjunct my Ramirez though.

Anyway I still am totally paranoid when it comes to going away from home, because my parents are watering my plants (and they would do so if I want it or not), and often it would bring up arguments again because they find I am too messy (esp. Mom with her Moon, Venus, Mars in Virgo and Sun-Mercury in scorpio - which is hard for me with my Sag-planets along with Moon in Aqua).

BTW apart from that we get along peachy, so it`s just some of the things you have to accept in life and find a way to navigate around. (actually when I am going for a trip, I hide my key to my bureau cause I know if she ever saw it she probabl ywould get a heart attack, and i don΄t wnat that to happen - well that room really needs some good putting in order. which will my fun-occupation during the summer break. )

@ Ceri, I guess she just "normally" imposes on your business, but not really digging into your personal business or trespassing your property, so no wonder that asteroid doesn't aspect your personal planets.

@ Angel, It might aspect your ascendant if that's your last name..

Really? Using someone's last name, an ethnic one too, to evaluate the potential for criminal activity or being a victim of criminal activity is pretty f-ed up.

Well the fact that the person being addressed didn't get offended seems to say that you're just being way too touchy and you take things way too personally. I was just wondering if it aspected her ascendant since asteroids can get literal too like in this thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum28/HTML/000992-2.html read SunAscendant's post. Astrology is all about POTENTIAL and fated events, and where it aspects your chart can have a certain meaning in your life, whether positive or negative. I have asteroid Dick sextiling my ascendant and squaring my name asteroid EXACT so it suggests my potential to be seen as obnoxious like how you perceive me now. Actually, I can be obnoxious. If you don't believe that astrology is fated in a way then why are you even studying it? You should stay off from these forums if you get easily offended with NORMAL, INNOCENT, opinions/comments.

I see, maybe that's how it manifested in your chart. My dad and bro did those things as well, but I have A LOT OF other aspects that contribute to that kind of abuse like Sedna, Mars opposition Pluto, Moon square Chiron, Chiron in the 4th, etc..

I agree, it might be better to exercise consideration for many, many people with the last name Ramirez, than push for this use of the asteroid.

Just for kindness' sake, and to have our values in perspective.

Well I don't really judge people negatively based on that asteroid alone in general. But if you know a thief, tresspasser or lockpicker, or you have been a victim of break-ins and unauthorized invasions of any kind, then out of curiosity and for your own studies it would be a good idea to know how it aspects their chart. We are all studying astrology in here anyway, so I seriously think we aren't harming anyone.

Yeah..this is taking things a bit too far.

Imagine if you named an asteroid for someone, as a beautiful gift. And they *happened* to share their name with some serial killer or criminal of some sort (unfortunately). And some years later, people are going on and on about how it means you're destined to be a mass murderer or con artist or something..

neptunicity, this IS my last name. I am a hispanic woman with this name. Don't tell me how to feel. You are not an authority here.

Furthermore, the author of the interpretation is responsible for stating that the asteroid is associated with "breaking in, trespassing, and lockpicking." To think that this a**hole associates my name with the same makes my skin crawl. Yes, Richard Ramirez was a serial killer, but the people who named the asteroid could have named it after a normal person with this surname. My reaction was more for the interpreter.

If you decide to take my reaction to this insensitive interpretation as personal, that's not my problem. I'm not here to censor myself over something that upsets me this much over a culturally, insensitive thread. I'm not here to make you comfortable with sharing this material publicly with others.

If you read all of the M.A.Holmes article, you might be able to apply this in another way, too---

This asteroid was named after someone who owned a members-only kind of club, where people would have to gain his permission or the authority to enter. Sometimes people who knew people would let them in as a kind of sub-authority level?

So, this could be applied to things like hotels, lodgings, clubs and restaurants--- anywhere you 'basically' are renting a table, or bed, or room in a building owned by (even a remote) Landlord?

Widely, if you 'think' about it?, we 'rent' people to help us?? (Laborers, migrants, domestic support, (even barter-situations?) )

I've watched this in my own chart, and some others.

I think it has to do with some of the immigrants and migrant-workers (of ALL races, etc), who are temporarily taking up residence in a place, (cabins, tents, land) then moving-along their paths.

It can seem at first like maybe it takes too long, but in the long span of time, is only a temporary measure (they are not the 'owners or proprietors' of the space being used), if things work cooperatively among others?

So, applying this to temporary or semi-permanent lodgings, hotels, shelters, couch-SURFing. In these places, there is not exactly 'invading', as much as the presence of someone else who is not the owner. There IS a kind of 'permission' or seeking of a permit involved? (Even buying your own home, land, rental units.)

(Situation of still living with your parents while you are over the age of 18?).

These immigrants right now ARE (in a way) the ones being victimized by their tragic circumstances, and by the cruelty and suffering involved in just 'the WHOLE thing' for EVERYONE-- anyway you view it.

I have 3926 Ramirez Virgo 2.34 in the 'international sector' of the chart, NINTH House, with Leo on the cusp. H(9)leo.

40314 1999 KR16 1.31' Virgo (restriction, and/or sacrifice)
Ramirez
1588 Descamisada 2.28' Virgo (shirtless man; union activity, main supporters were poor workers, being cheated, taking heavy losses)
13184 Augeias 2.44 (making or cleaning up a mess)
13227 Poor 3.01' Virgo (The Poor)
10128 Bro 3.3' (good buddy or good citizen)
5181 SURF 3.15 (as in 'couch' ?? haha)
10334 Gibbon
71445 Marc
10343 Church 3.33.31" Virgo
1763 Williams
679 PAX 3.52.

aspecting in biquintile to Scorpio H11 ...
14 Irene (peace), Part of Love, Saturn, 1923 Osiris-- these biquintile Eris-Compassion-Industria Aries.

Virgo Ramirez, et al, are trine--- TAURUS H5
622 Esther 2.09 (where and how you are most-likely to be a rescuer? (oh no, in the Good way, I hope) ref Jim Lewis)
11 Parthenope 3.24 (a new kind of prototype thing coming into being, like in Genesis)
5265 Schadow 3.25
4390 Madreteresa 3.33'33" Taurus H5
16017 Street 3.35'55"

These sextile my Mars Cancer 2.36 H7gem
and 128 Nemesis Cancer 2.24--- she is actually a Good figure-- steps in as "Humanity's Conscience"; equalizing and compensating Justice; she expressed general opposition to ALL wrong-doings.
WITH 7696 Liebe (german word for Love!), of course!

Quoting Mark Andrew Holmes... http://markandrewholmes.com/ramirez.html

It was named for Pasadena, California restaurateur Abel R. Ramirez, on his fiftieth birthday.
He once managed a private club, The Athenaeum, which is run by Caltech.

As far as I know, Abel Ramirez is harmless and law-abiding,

"""but""" he shares a last name — which is a very common Hispanic last name —

with one of twentieth-century America's most notorious murderers,
Ricardo (Richard) Ramirez(born 1960),
a high-school-dropout drifter and Satanist who terrorized Los Angeles around 1980 and was nicknamed the Night Stalker after the song "Night Prowler" by one of his favorite rock groups, AC/DC.

Ah! So that's what you're fuming about huh? Me associating everyone named Ramirez to be a "infiltrator"/murderer? Now how narrow-minded is that? You really do take things personally, how ironic that you have a detached moon sign. Perhaps you got some watery Mercury that's inclined to take offense soooo quickly. I was just simply talking about the acts associated about that asteroid from my experience, and wondering how other people experience it on their charts since the acts from my end even include web browsing and phone lock and SIM PIN codes being bypassed, also my flash drives being inserted in the PC as I sleep or I'm gone to snoop on me, so naturally I got curious how other people experience this asteroid in their lives, no malice intended. That's pretty much it. So I think the problem now is your PERCEPTION and not my thread per se. Take note, I said "the break in, trespassing, lockpicking ASTEROID", NOT PERSON, so if people take it personally then it's not my problem anymore.

I doubt you would react that way if that asteroid was named differently, like Tantalus or something, but since it shares your name, you are affected by it. That is understandable, (if you are sensitive) but you need to practice more detachment and understanding. It's like those other people in other threads getting upset when their sun sign or natal planets/aspects gets slammed, and they react angrily. People should be more objective than subjective in these forums where others opinions might not agree with theirs or be pleasant in general. I'm not attacking people with it, I'm just studying more about how it played out in other people's lives. If I had that surname I wouldn't take it personally, it's just the acts associated with that asteroid, not the person!

Mark Andrew Holmes definitely studied a whole lot of charts for him to conclude the acts associated with that asteroid before releasing that info to the public, and it resonated more with the murderer than with the restauratuer, so if you have a problem with that then you might also want to consider emailing him and telling him your sentiments? Lol.

This forum is for studying astrology, not for discrminiating people, so people should not take everything waay too personally.

I rest my case.

@ mirage29, How do you feel "inflitrated" when it comes to 9th house matters, if applicable? I can't seem to think of any violation there when it comes to the house of religious beliefs and higher studies. I guess people imposing their beliefs on you?

So dismissive. Even when others clearly get it.

You are such a terrible person. I wouldn't even want to be the bacteria on your skin. Repugnant.

You can write me a novel with chapters in response, but you are still showing yourself in a distasteful light. But anyway...please continue to use astrology as an excuse for enforcing a perception that is clearly offensive.

I'm Plutonian and Uranian. That's all YOU need to know. Kaboom.

I see what you did there. lol

Thank you for having class in the discussion.

I'm not angry about Richard Ramirez existing as much as I am disappointed in the callousness in the original poster's response to me about my surprise that the asteroid is associated with such things.

Oooh, look who's fuming mad over what I said, lol. Resorting to low blows to prove your SUBJECTIVE point and PERCEIVED indignance? If what I'm doing is wrong then a mod should have reprimanded me by now. Which still HAS NOT happened, unlike in other threads with arguments, so maybe someone's just being way too sensitive. You should learn to NOT associate your name with the acts that that asteroid represents, pure and simple. They don't define you, so you're just torturing yourself with these perceived "slights". And yes, you ruined the discussion, but it just goes to show how biased someone is. It's not about your name, it's about the asteroid!

Now go and email Mark Andrew Holmes now and give him a piece of your mind, lol.

She didn't ruin the discussion, in my opinion.

I think it needed to be said.

Asteroid astrology gets out of whack, people tend to ascribe too much meaning to a singular asteroid placement, to the point where they are trumping and overriding all the moderation built into traditional astrology.

Traditional astrology takes itself more seriously and a good astrologer won't attempt to call someone a criminal based on one simple aspect, like Ramirez conjunct sun. Or to call someone names because they have a prominent Lucifer.

But asteroid astrologers DO take those liberties. So, with an eye to how the asteroids are actually being used (unfortunately) it's perfectly understandable to be offended here. It's a strange and unique kind of libel.

I actually can't think of another asteroid that might be a person's name, that has been given such a starkly negative meaning. Hmm.

Randall doesn't typically get involved in ethics/policy discussions so to cite his absence here as meaning anything is a stretch.
