I feel for you. No fun.
Hot prune juice with cranberry juice helps sometimes. only 4 oz. before bedtime.

Hope you get it under control.

The below is not directed at you BM.

Deleted due to the insensitive statements made by three people who believe all illness and disease and hardship is deserved (oh yeah.....unless it happens to them of course! Then they want pity and understanding and would be very upset if THEY were told they DESERVED IT!)
At least one has bemoaned rather profusely their hardships and sufferings to date yet calls judgement upon me?????

Freaking double standards!

Hi Bluemoon,

I found some information concerning diverticulitis that might be helpful for you. One thing they recommend is changing your diet. Small seeds (like cucumber, raspberry and strawberry) along with wheat / flax can get hung up on that portion of your intestine that is either pinched or buckled. It ends up swelling causing immense pain.

I hope you are feeling better.

Bluemoon,

You poor thing. You are a fellow crab right? Our stomachs are just SO much trouble. I find that EXTREMELY high volumes of cruciferous veggies do the trick for me (those are cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, couliflour etc...)

You know what? I was reading through some old Buddhist writings and it was said that "emotional changes are due to fluctuations of intestinal bile". And they said it just like that as if it were common sense! And lately I've been hearing about scientific studies linking mood to upset stomach... how is it that astrology (and Buddhists) is light-years ahead of science?!

Anyhow, I hope your tummy feels better. Remember, poop often! It's really better for you to do so. I know thats gross but it's true.

Eat more veggies! Also, where is Stafford? I just moved to DC and when I was in-between apartments I was crashing in Arlington, VA for awhile.

That would be fun! My wife and I have 0 friends cause we just moved here about a month ago. I have a junk address that you can send an email to, then I will reply with my "real" address, the one I use most often.

turboradicalmuffler@yahoo.com

It's rarely used but I will check it this week.

They dx'd you and didn't educate you about it? Talk about horrible bed side manner. So sorry. Patient education is very critical - we have a serious problem with it at our hospital (I'm frequently writing in patients' chart notes to the therapists to *please educate* the patients about their dx, treatment plan, meds, etc - I'd do it myself, but I dont' have that license, so all I can do it write bitchy notes). I haven't f'ing clue why the diagnosing doctors think it's OK to keep patient ignorant and then expect them to comply to their orders.

I know it's hard when you're sick and feeling vulnerable to stand up to a busy doctor and ask questions, but you shouldn't have to. They should readily explain thigns to you from the beginning.

Sorry, still venting...

Thanks again to everyone!

GemNymp: they did try to educate me. My son is a nurse there and he was with me. I guess I was a little resistant. In Denial. and VERY upset since I was unemployed and BROKE! They did give me paperwork about my diet and such. But it is some how easier to take it from my friends here.

I love you ALL!!!
