Well Juni, I had a dream I texted my Mum that I was having twins.

Now, I'm trying to forget that dream right now.
Though, if I have twins, it's double the joy and I would be doubly blessed! and double everything else... oh dear!!!

My belly is bulging and I lay on my back this morning and my uterus hardened, so I got a chance to feel around, I said it feels like a big baby to my husband. Or I am further along.

When you have twins it's not like one is on one side and the other is on the other side? Is it? Can they be bunched up together on one side would it feel like a giant baby?

I'll have to wait til June. Although i'll see what my MW thinks when she has a feel around.

Oh, that would also explain my appetite too. (I hope)

Just ate a mega salad (yeh nice and healthy) a whole avocado too, but what about that half a jar of mayonnaise that went with it? Why can't I stop? Incredible hunger for creamy, tangy, fatty things. Loads of calories.

You guys are making me hungry lol!!

MiaMammy08- never tried being pregnant or not...well sorta. I just kind of always knew that getting pregnant would be hard for me. After a lot of instances where I 'should've' become pregnant and didn't I just figured I was infertile.

I don't know how twins would feel but if you start feeling kicks in odd places than that's a hint. Like if the baby should have flipped over (7th month?) where it's head is towards your pelvis and you feel a kick where you shouldn't then you might have twins. Oddly enough I had a dream I had twins a while back and was really happy about it.

Littlecloud-- I know exactly how you feel. I had so many instances where it was no way I couldn't have been pregnant and up until now, I never was. I thought I was infertile because so many odds are stacked against me like weight, irregular periods, and no knowledge of when I ovulated whatsoever. I don't know why I got pregnant now vs. sooner and I will probably never know the answers. I just blame stuff like that on God because looking at it as a series of steps, I took all the right steps and still didn't have a kid in the past so it must be something to it.

Hi Ghani!

Hope you and your little one are happy & well!!!

My next appointment is in 9 days and I will be getting an ultrasound to confirm everything. This pregnancy does feel different to my other two. Interestingly, when I'm in bed I always sleep on my right side not on my left, when my husband asked why, I replied 'because the babies are on that side', he said 'babies?', (the 'babies' are on my left- and i feel a lump and it is not at all comfortable to sleep on as I think i'm squashing them) LOL unless I've just convinced myself because of all the unusual things or it is my higher consciousness slipping it in.
Will find out soon enough! Very excited for the Ultrasound.

SunChild,
Since you have done the pregnancy thing before, could you tell me which test are mandatory and which are not because these tests are very expensive and is part of the reason why i have only been to the docs once. i dont see the need to go every month unless i have to because everytime i go, i am going to have to pay for something be it a urine test or whatever.

It's funny because the first picture you posted of the newest bump said twins to me... Not sure why. I know that you didn't have a lot of time for your uterine contractions to bring it back down to "normal" size and may have felt bigger earlier on than normal because of that, BUT, I just got a feeling...

Anyway, my peanut is not so little anymore! She is 21 months next week and talking a mile a minute. We have such fun together! The sound of her laughter is the most beautiful thing in the world...

Let us know how the scan goes!

I would like you to read the following and tell us.

Children are generally ruled by V house.
1st pregnancy is ruled by V house (to know if the baby is going to be male or female you should look at the sign on the cusp of V house)

Male signs (Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sag, Aqua) mean boys;

Female signs (Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorp, Cappy, Pisces) mean girls.

2nd pregnancy is ruled by VII house (if it is your second pregnancy then the baby's sex will depend upon the sign on VII house cusp)

3d pregnancy is ruled by IX house

4th pregnancy is ruled by XI house

5th pregnancy is ruled by I house

6th pregnancy is ruled by III house

and then you start with V house again.

I don't know if this house cusp sign thing works always but still seems interesting.

Did this work for you Sun child??

Im looking forward to your home birth experience...im considering the same when it is time for me..so that ill be ready to go!

just want to ask that look at sign on cusp in which chart? our natal chart?

As I see it, the health professionals are there for me when I find reason. I would not recommend you get poked and prodded unnecessarily. As far as I know here, nothing is actually mandatory. I like the idea of having an early blood test and one in late pregnancy to monitor iron levels and my Vit D as I had a reason to, (it was low so I was able to correct it as it is connected to premature labor.) I'd skip the GD test unless you are worried about GD or feel your blood-sugar is a little off. It's not mandatory. I would only get 1 scan if things are all normal. No need for extra scans or a scan at all! The first 20-25 weeks can go by uneventful, I didn't have a scan or any checkups just a blood test that I asked for from my GP.
Glad I did the blood tests. It's worth it.
I did test for Group B strep. I was neg. in my first pregnancy but pos. in my last one (suspected) and needed antibiotics during birth.
I didn't do much in the way of general check ups until the final 3 months, then it was every 3-4 weeks until the final month, then it it was weekly, and I only let them measure me, feel the position of the baby, and check the heartbeat. No fingers in other places!
I don't see any reason for any more than that.
I also don't see any reason unless there is a complication to have an OB. Midwife care is great and feels less 'medical' and more nurturing and natural. In the final weeks you may be offered cervix checks, ripening gel ect... this is all interference and I would avoid it as it's not medically necessary, and if you really want to know, you can check your own cervix.

Do what you feel comfortable with always. Want to check? Check.
Know in your heart it's unnecessary and waste of $? Skip it.
You know best.

ETA I'm in Australia so it may be a lot different here. We are covered by Medicare and can easily obtain midwife care at the hospital clinic. It's simple as a choice on a piece of paper and when it's time for 'this test' or 'that test' it's simply another yes/no choice and you just have to leave a note with your midwife that you declined the test. If you are 'high risk' then you are managed differently I presume with a Doctor, which I know nothing at all about, thank God, it's been smooth sailing over here.

Aww Ghani, 21 months, such a fun age! It's amazing how much love we can have for a little being isn't it!

I'm really excited about this scan!!!!

My MIL said today, "you're not having twins, you're just fat"....

Ahhh well, that's what MIL's are for I guess.

I took it well.

You drink raspberry tea to help the pain during labor, am I correct? I'm curious about it's benefits and how often you drink it when do you start drinking it?

Red Raspberry Leaf Tea is something I will do again.
My first pregnancy I did not drink it, labor was 12 hrs, 1 hr final stage, 10 mins pushing. Intense pain in the last 2 hours.
Second pregnancy I drank it from 20 weeks onward in moderate amounts (1-2 cups a day some days none at all), then in the last three months I drank as much as I wanted (5 strong cups a day). The last week I made them with double the amount of RRL tea. Labor was into the final stage instantly and pushing was just a few minutes. I hardly remember how long it took, in my mind it was about half an hour, in reality about an hour.
It does NOTHING for the pain! The pain was much worse! But it was faster.
Maybe too fast the MW argued, but I was happy with the result overall.

I plan on doing exactly the same this time. I had medicinal doses of it, stronger than anyone could imagine, like a bitter syrup almost.

so it aids in giving birth but not for the pain...are there any natural ways of dealing with the pain?

Yes/No. I think we are all wimps these days. Going through the pain is tough but you can come out a better person. Depending on what you choose to take from it. It's a gift. Like a painful initiation ceremony, it could appear to be traumatizing or awakening. I understand the temptation for an epidural, and I have sympathy for those who give in. You do get desperate and explore all the natural methods, I just wanted to escape the pain but at the same time I wanted to prove my strength to God. Nothing natural worked for me, I had to deal with the pain like a big girl. So both times I did stop fighting it and just surrendered, like ok, give me ALL of it!!! Just say 'bring it on'. You can handle it!

I know that was a detailed response, that's just how I think. I'm a little out there.
I replied to a high school friend who emailed me a while ago about how she can manage pain and do it naturally, I gave her my long answer, I haven't heard back lol!
