I know this is a rather silly suggestion. But in the worst case, if it doesn't work out to get what you want, you could perhaps, when you go on vacation in europe, have it done there? My insurance didn't pay anything back. It costs me 250 euros total. That's 50 euros a year. Here's a review of a 20 year old girl from USA that got it done by the same doctor as me. http://iud-divas.livejournal.com/1226947.html IP: Logged |

Great, Regardes! I've decided I'm getting the ESSURE or ADIANA. Most likely Adiana because it is silicone and not titanium. (I'm pretty certain I have metal sensitivity). What I am considering is permanent procedure, I have my consultation in a couple of weeks. I'll probably be the first in my state to get the adiana procedure, it's non surgical, considered permanent, fast and totally effective, (no side effects!), and i still ovulate but it just stops the sperm reaching the egg. It's little rice like plugs inserted into each falopian tube. With the coil you can still get pregnant but the coil stops the embryo attaching to the wall so you will have a miscarriage, I have sex all the time so my chances are high! lol Info: http://www.adiana.com/ http://essure.com.au/ IP: Logged |

I have no idea what it's like to have been sexually assaulted, I can only imagine how horrific that would feel, it definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth just thinking about it! I am so sorry you had that happen to you Regardes, terribly sorry. *hugs* That is so sad to me, it really breaks my heart everytime I hear that from someone. I hear it all too often and it just makes me so mad.IP: Logged |

My prayer is that I will be able to get Paraguard successfully and that it will work out well for me. My prayer is also that I will accept myself as God created me openly, honestly, and with joy. My prayer is that I will be able to share my church's view that sexuality is a gift and, while it can be evil or a burden in some situations, it can also be holy and pleasing to God in the right circumstances, and it can be a sign of God's presence, infinite love for us, and beauty as it manifests in two human people in the context of faithful and Spirit-filled love. I pray that I will be safe and protected and that, whatever my identity is, I will honor God with my body and spirit. *need to write down these recent prayers that I've posted here in my journal* So, again, thank you all for your support and encouragement!
Regardes I used to talk about this and then stopped, but I want to tell you so you know that you have a soul sister out there. I was molested by my mother. My life has been a singular struggle to get normal self esteem, if you can call it that, but to rise above the awful feelings of unworthiness that go very deep.

For me, there was about a week (maybe less) of spotting after insertion, but it wasn't severe. My periods were never any worse than when they were natural, though they were worse than when I was on "the pill". Caveat: I may have dodged an initial heavy flow adjustment period because I continued to nurse for several months post-implantation, and (for me) menstruation is usually very light while breastfeeding.IP: Logged |

RegardesPlatero &Ami Having endured nearly all the types of sexual abuse/rapes/molestations betwixt 4 and 15 years old.....then assaults and harassment after; and yes, my mother was one of the women, and her brother one of the many men...... I know how it scars one's psyche. In my case it led for a time to excessive control freak promiscuity, the need to be completely in control in and over sex partners. Since those times, I have been celibate for a few years and yes, sex now scares me again. It will require a very understanding patient man to bring me out of my celibacy. As to the IUD issue; My periods were much lighter whilst using it. It was common for me to go through 24 pads plus 20+ super tampons and or sit on towels on peak days. I also had 2 cycles a month. On the IUD I was nearly a normal person. Not sure why though.

RegardesPlatero, May I ask why you would get an IUD if you are not having sex? Also if you do have sex; the IUD will NOT protect you from STDs. IP: Logged |

RegardesPlatero In my exploratory days, I made sure I had rubbers safe in a sturdy metal container in my purse. Guys often (if they have them) carry them in a pocket. The rubber can become weak from body heat or damaged, or get too old. Best to have your own. Also if you have a latex allergy, you will need to get the non latex types. Beware that the natural skin protect against unwanted pregnancy, but offer zero protection against STDs. http://www.condomjungle.com/non-latex-condoms-reviews-a/271.html I wish you the best of love and luck. I cannot have sex with anyone without love and trust. I gave up my wild life about 4 decades ago. Love and Blessings to you. PS. Ask me anything about sex you wish to know. {{{hugs}}} ------------------ Anyone can come into your life and say how much they love you.
