Here’s how it works — If I have something in my gemstone/crystal collection that you need, I mail it to you to try or to use for however long you need it. Next, maybe you lend me or another exchange member something they need. Since I can ship a single piece for less than a dollar, or many stones for only several dollars, it saves you money, or at least lets you try a type of stone before you invest. This can be especially helpful for folks who don’t have much to spend or who don’t live near a rock/crystal shop where you can touch-n-feel first. Small beads can be mailed taped/padded in an ordinary #10 envelope with only 2-3 stamps for postage (in US).

Plus, its fun to make these connections across the distance, get to know each other, and support each others’ healing.

I also hope the exchange gets noticed I guess anyone could just buy what they need online; however I think the exchange is great because we can share information and inspire one another. I'll probably start sharing my experiences here soon.

The Rhyolite is very different from the Kunzites and Kyanites. I didn't have the immediate reaction to the Rhyolite the way I did with the others. I was surprised at first because I was getting nothing. I wondered if I wasn't focused enough or if I was distracted by the fact that I had to go to work soon... But soon I became conscious of this stone working deep inside me ('places' I don't access regularly), a slow action. Like the Amethyst you don't want to separate from it. You feel your "authentic" self rising to the surface unencumbered by the emotional baggage that often blocks our freedom.

At first I expected to see something the way I did in dreams with the Amethyst (and I did), but what is most beautiful about this stone (and I did read this somewhere) is how it empowers you to speak your truth- see it clearly and then tell it. In the few days I've had the Rhyolite stone I have been able to say (without thinking) things I have been trying to say for years to a very significant person in my life. They are truths that don't live in my head, making them things I Know, but haven't been able to explain- an enormous source of frustration. At one point in a conversation I was completely taken aback by what I, myself, was saying and by the positive and accepting reaction to what I was saying. I became aware that I could not be denied (I hope that doesn't sound arrogant. My purpose is personal strength and conviction). It was only when I kind wondered what was going on that I realized I was just rolling this stone between my fingers over and over during the conversation.

This is the only stone I wear at all times right now. I'm wearing it on a silver chain around my neck. I can't wear things like hemp. They irritate my skin. Do you think silver is ok?

I've had the first stones you sent for three weeks now, I think.. I plan to take them to the lake tomorrow and cleanse them in sea salt and the lake water. I don't know why I'm anxious about proper cleansing...

The Rhyolite seems to be best activated by giving a question at the start of your meditation. It is powerful and deep acting, but not forceful. I've never gotten insights so clearly and easily as I do with it. Even just as a meditation stone it induces deep relaxation like few stones can.

I agree that it does help bring the authentic self up to the surface. I'm glad you've had good experiences with it.

Silver is fine if it works for you.

Ok. I will set aside sometime to actually focus on something specific. I think I might have tried that when I first got the Rhyolite, but I wasn't able to connect what I saw to my question or concern so I gave that method up. But I will try again.

I can kind of see a connection between the faces, the mountain, and the liquid silver in my vision, and the face on the coin, the amethyst (a stone- similar to a mountain, symbolically at least), and the silver coin..

I would just add that an approach you might consider since it sounds like what you're getting so far is symbolic -- although it may have deep and rich personal meaning you will soon discover -- is to ask to see what is behind or underneath these symbols - for the deeper meaning to be brought into plain view. It might take some time, but that is okay. Deep and meaningful things are worth the time.

I`ll try to be better at packing in future.

Right now pc is down and it has taken me a while to learnhow to use my wife`s tablet for doing the simple stuff. Can`t really get any work done with it.

I don't think it had anything to do with the way you packed it. You secured it pretty well. Maybe it was the sorting machine like Randall suggested. It was one aggressive sorting machine

In the past 5 years, I've gathered a very very small collection-- might have to invest in a picture gem book to remind what these are now! LOL

Been a rock hound and sensitive to stone energies since childhood. Spent a long time sitting and contemplating life on a giant granite boulder, imbedded with flecks of tourmaline muscovite and garnets.

Have loved crystals ever since a child, when I slobbered on my mother's absolutely stunning rosary beads. The sunlit stained-glass windows in that church made them sparkle even more Beautifully!

Have a drop-shaped one right now that hangs from a small lamp by this computer.

In one apartment I had, there was a very large sunny picture-window. Had strung crystals across it, splashing rainbows all around the room.

My favorite is Rose Quartz and Black Tourmaline (together).

Have a small Moonstone that I wear with a delicate shiny silver chain (which was a big splurge for my last birthday).

Sometimes I'll swap the stone out of its cage and replace with Blue Agate.

Some day I want to get some Malachite.

After watching this vid, thinking also about getting a piece of Citrine.

This couple is FABULOUS...
