Aquarius ideologically resists formality and restriction favouring the feeling of being free, and what could be more formal or symbolically restrictive than a contract? That's not to say that committed relationships themselves will fall out of favour - it is a fixed sign, after all - but I do suspect the formalization of the bond will become more and more passe.
Disagree entirely. As another Aquarian there is another side to the Aquarian ideal being ignored, forgotten, discounted, or simply unrecognized. That is the part that upholds customs, traditions, and beliefs that by the very nature of their withstanding the test of time deserve to be upheld. If traditional marriage dwindles, it will not be the bond, nor the all constraints that accompany, but only those parts that are proving not to work. What is proving not to work in modern western marriages is the lack of preparation as well as reverence for marriage itself. That includes not assessing the potential partner in advance of marriage nor in realizing the fundamental changes and compromises necessary for both people to go through time together married, and with success. It is constant work and reassessment as well as self-sacrifice. It is not like a car, where with some wear and tear, and the first blush of newness off you trade in your beloved for another. You have to look within yourselves to constantly renew from the inside of your partnership, not to look elsewhere. Marriage and love, the verbs, are not easy and aren't for everyone. S IP: Logged |

That is not true. There are many marriages because child was on the way and that is reason, why some women get married. At least: in Europe. From other side, many people live together, but they are not married.I know two men; they married because their girlfriends were pregnant. Divorce came after two years. For me that is no love, but some kind of logic: because of children. Some women marry because they want to prove, how they can get a man. There are other women they have many chances and more boyfriends (and their love), but don't get married. In fact in everybody's Natal Chart is a sign, will somebody get married or not. Here is Free Will. Nobody can push me there, where I don't want to be. (Sun 90 Mars – stubborn people)

I am now with a guy who doesn't believe in marriage. We have been whatever you want to call it for about half a year now. So I'm not all freaked out by that. But I am keeping an open mind to his beliefs. IP: Logged |

Not in my family ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. Our songs are different. They should be in harmony with each other. ~ Mattie Stepanek IP: Logged |

Here are what some little kids had to say on dating and marriage: http://cdn.iwastesomuchtime.com/February-01-2012-21-12-05-marriage.gif And as for marriage being for the woman, I'd just like to repeat what one of the kids said: "It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them." --Anita, age 9 And I wonder how true that is, given that married men tend to live longer than unmarried and one reason I found believable is because his health is improved by not living in such a dump and living a cleaner life (and more likely to see a doctor as well). Randall I don't believe in marriage either, you don't have to be married and live a happy and normal life.

its not the marriage that makes married men more healthy its the steady sex that usually comes as a result of being married. IP: Logged |

I just occurred to me how much marriage has changed in the last hundred years alone. In the last few decades marriage was redefined to allow interracial marriage, contraception, a wife could charge her husband with rape, a wife could have credit in her own name, a wife could have property that was strictly hers...Go further back and slaves could only marry with master's permission, women were property, polygamy, etc. But we've changed, for the better. Accepting gay marriage seems like a natural next step. Maybe we really are entering the Age of Aquarius. IP: Logged |
