yeah though i have bland art as well. trying to paw it off on my dad ahaha! he has a huge empty wall. it's like a 48x48 white abstraction. it makes most people think and stare though which is why i like abstraction. they try to make sense of it. my dad likes cartoon art and swimsuit calendars. his wife likes... elephants in art lol! idk y! no art currently in their house.

I love this thread!

I have been trying to find inexpensive alternatives to housing. It's hard to make rent where I live right now (not that I want to pay rent!) and more and more people are living in co-ops - a big house or an apartment with lots of roommates where everyone shares equally in the chores and the good times. Some people grow gardens together and have chicken coops (where legal). There is a lot of up-cycling going on. You can get all your furniture really cheap or free.

Yeah co-ops are great. I think we'll be seeing more and more of them. I'm not paying anywhere near what I was living in that house by myself. Utility bills go way down as well and no more yard to have to pay someone to mow etc, etc. So thrilled to be out of there. I hope you can find the right situation for yourself Yin. It really sucks to watch so much money go to rent and bills. I think you'd fit right in in a co-op situation.

Its an awesome Idea, I'm actually considering it.

I love it when people design rooms that fold up and close to maximize space.

An architect in Hong Kong designed(view video below) a room were the walls literally pull out and push back in.

He can build 24 different rooms combinations in a space less than 700sqft.

This was the original video(listed below)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcecHn7tg_U

When I first saw it I was thinking...wow.

The only problem is if each room is a wall that slides and pulls out.

What If you have to use the washroom in a rush?

You'll have to pull 5 rooms to get to the washroom.

I'm considering on building something similar on a trailer.
