(they are all the rage. lol)

youve got a small amount of square feet. How would you make it your castle and appear and FEEL larger?

How would you make it warm cozy and a place to call home w/o feeling like the walls are closing in on you?

All the while, leaving a smaller footprint on the planet, which is also a plus. Could you live with less? How much less?

Can't wait to hear your comments and see your favorite ideas.

My 4th house is ruled by Uranus (or Saturn: Aquarius).

I don't know; I hardly ever feel relaxed here anymore. It doesn't feel cozy to anyone now, and this place isn't huge, but isn't small either.

I like little white christmas lights, and wish I had some.

i have a 27 or a 29 sqm studio though there is a bedroom fit in that. they call it a junior suite. just me i can live there. i have the pieces in storage.

i suppose it helps that it is high ceilinged and floor to ceiling windows. i'm selling it by the time it gets built and hopefully i can buy my dad's other place from him. it's 150sqm for the same price. plus i get to stay close to my bro and sis.

a renovator would be very useful in these things imo. just to create cabinets and storage i mean if none are already installed.

i'm leasing a 2 floor condo right now. too big for me alone. but i love the stairs in a condo unit. so luxe.

Oh I love this topic!

I've been fascinated with the tiny house movement for the past year or so.

My Uranus & NN (Scorpio) and Venus (Sag) are all in the 4H.

Will be back to say more when I get more time to browse your links, T.

T___T all apartments in NYC aren't small, its a matter of location it depends on the borough and neighborhood. Living in Manhattan other than the upper west side or east side without shelling out a lot means small apartments. The apartment above is from Madrid.

I think I saw a YouTube video of this woman and her apartment:

Not beautiful, but it appeals to me, because of other freedom it might provide...like financial freedom (cheap rent), freedom from hoarding (not possible) and freedom from clutter (unless you just want to go insane in a tiny mess but the incentive is there to stay super-organized.)

Also I like to daydream about what life might be like if I lived alone, and of course, a place that small represents single living.

Maybe someday I'll live like that. Like in a little clubhouse. Weird, I know, but I have 4H Uranus.

Yeah, bad feng shui.

The video you posted above was great, that guy is a genius. I LOVE his apartment even though I'd probably go crazy (crazier?) from outside noise in Hong Kong.

Thanks guys! Faith wow, that is tiny!

I also don't think i'd be comfortable in the bed - not being able to sit up. It's pretty cool set up though.

Love that Madrid one. Neutral tones with a splash of orange

v. cool. I havent forgotten about the thread. Just busy. Will get back to this one soon.

Yes! That's where i'm at now. Feels good not to have the huge expenses of a house and to be able to get rid of so much. It feels like a weight has been lifted!

To me, of all the small houses I've seen on youtube this gentleman's situation is the best I've seen.

The Hong Kong apartment has the features I like, multi usage of the same spaces via modularity is such an awesome concept to me.

Would prefer to have a garden as well.

Nah, coffee maker goes in the stove..

The square footage cost is higher, however the lack of dead/unused space in the apartment also means you are maximizing value for your $$$.

Goodness pimp, that is a nice apartment!

What I had thought is a low cost, but nice, place that one can own mortgage free in a short amount of time.

Lower your overhead costs, the lower your opportunity costs, you could be "free" relatively quickly.

That you are rarely there, thing with a small place is maybe you not want to spend all day inside.

No breakfast nook?!?!

The Savages!

For me, I'd like to have some outside space as well, someone posted a video to the woman who had a NYC apartment that she maximized.

Which was great, and she is an interior designer, it's more that at the end of the day, you are stuck in a small apartment in NYC..

pere, forgot to mention, i thought that guy's space was well done. He even said he rented part of it out???

I guess we didnt see that part of the apartment. (was this the same vid, i hope! i watched it days ago...)

tbh, lazy taurus would get tired of moving so much around. I mean, it's one thing to be able to convert some things and come up with creative ways to store, but I'm not sure I'd have the energy to be moving things around all the time like that.

Knowing my lazy @ss, it would become a jumbled mess of rooms.

"Welcome! Please walk across my bed (because I was too lazy to fold it up) and enter the kitchen/bathroom/dining area!"

".....you can see it, can't you??? It's all somewhere in here! I swear!" LOL
