alchemiest,

Possibly...but since Pluto is associated with "control" you probably defend yourself by taking control of situations.

In control,

Tim

I do try... I don't always succeed, though. And then I just look silly.

Saturn in Aquarius in 10th house
Saturn conjuncting Sun and MC.
Saturn opposing Mars.
Saturn Quincunx Moon.

I don't defend myself. I, normally, change the subject or withdraw myself. May be it is Moon in Cancer at the end of 2nd house.
Lets hear from any fellow Saturn in Aquarius.

sameesadiq,

Maybe you defend yourself by appealing to friends (Aquarius) who think the same as you? Also, since Aquarius is associated with rebellion, maybe you defend yourself by rebelling against the subject.

Friendlily,

Tim

NAM,

Gemini is the sign which is about thinking, also talking, writing. So you may defend yourself with your talking or writing.

Writing of (about) talking,

Tim

How odd! I just noticed that you wrote:
writing "of" talking, rather than using the word "or".Did you do this on purpose?

My Saturn in Virgo in my 8th house. I tend to be very detail oriented in many aspects and an extreme perfectionist. My standard defensive responses vary between two extremes (LOL, but true). One, becoming emotionally overwhelmed by details (or change). And, two, extremely focused and task-oriented and just buckling down to do what needs to be done.

Is that my Saturn?

Hi Tim! My Saturn is in Taurus in the 9th house. How it manifested in my life is that my college studies were interrupted for several years (Saturn being the planet of delays). It is only now that I'm resuming my educational path by taking my masters in social work.

My Saturn is also conjunct Venus, and this has somehow put a damper on my love life, as in, zero magnitude! It may be that I am too inhibited in my self-expression, and that I fear rejection very much so I don't dare try to reach out.

Is there any positive spin you can put on my Saturn, please?

Kismet,

With Taurus (physical, also personal values) modifying Saturn, you defend yourself with your personal values and if anything doesn't "fit" those values, you stay away from it. However relationships require us to be aware of the values of the other person and to respond to them. Letting down your "values shield" should help a lot at opening up relationships for you.

Valuing you,

Tim

Saturn in Leo (in the 7th house). I am defensive about the slightest insult to my pride, real or perceived.

I defend myself by not allowing people to get to know me...sometimes writing them off before they can write me off or dismiss me, which I feel they will do because I sometimes feel inadequate (Identity) and think they will feel the same.

wow, i am also saturn in virgo in the 8th and i totally relate to what was written above.

i am SO hard on myself and tend to get extremeley overwhelmed and this can be either emotional overwhelm or feeling like i'm not good enough and need to be more organized in order to be good enough!! and the way i defend myself seems to be to retreat and try harder to meet my own standards of perfection so that i can be good enough for others as well.

does that sound right? it is also conjunct my NN. i am not entirely sure how i understand how the 8th house plays into this, in terms of defending myself, but maybe it has more to do with retreat and being overwhelmed?

Saturn in Scorpio 3rd house here.. guess I defend myself by expressing myself and my thoughts intensively and deeply (somehow a bit aggressively)
Yup, that's the position of my Saturn as well.
The thing is i tend to be ermm... sneakily aggressive [if such term could exist hehe]
The aggression underlies my seemingly "dimplomatic" demeanor. This is because i tend to feel inadequate when it comes to personal expression [Saturn squares my lovely Merc. in Leo/12H].

LOL also Saturn in Pisces here, mine's in 9th house so it might be:

"Hey, how could you DO that to such a deep thinker like me!"

Thanks Tim, I enjoy this little exercise so much.

Saturn in Gemini-"let's talk or match wits about this problem", analytical, emotionally distant. Yep, it all fits.
