I have a Cancer Rising, My mom told me that when I was a little baby, I was extremely clingy and moody. She said that I always wanted to be carried by my her alone, and that I would cry constantly. As a baby my face was very moon-shaped, I had very rosy lips and cheeks, very cute, but very clingy to my mother. I was a big cry baby... Personally I hate my Cancer Rising, it's the worst, it makes me shy and reserved for no good reason. It's a "pain in the ass" to be double water sign with terrible Moon afflictions in Gemini. There will be times when I'm in a complex emotional hell. IP: Logged |

My Ascendent sign is at Libra. I try to get along with everyone. I won't usually express my opinions until I've heard every single view and story. I try to be objective and free of prejudice. And THIS is what makes it hard - My Sun in Cancer and my Moon in Pisces. I can't help but get emotionally involved in whatever affects me, making me completely subjective, biased and somewhat reactionary. To 'Amigifted' - does any of this sound familiar? Sometimes I feel as if I have little or no sense of self. IP: Logged |

Starlover-I have a lot of friends with Moon in Gemini and they're all very friendly, outgoing and charming people. I think it's a great placement! Gemini as a rising on the other hand...oy! All of the people I know with gemini rising (myself included) are so scattered sometimes, and not always very grounded. And a whole lotta Aquarius placements to top it off! I don't have any strong earth placements and I think it would be more balancing if I did. I'm not envious of water sign people though...I have no idea what that must be like (although I've often wanted to be a Scorpio, if at least for the sex appeal). IP: Logged |

Hello! I have a Scorpio ascendant and missed out on the sexy part!I'm intimidating and can be downright scary-looking.. goes great with a pisces sun.But my eldest daughter has Scorpio ascendant and has the sexy part down... it covers her Virgo sun.WHile my other daughter has a Pisces ascendant and people fall all over themselves to help this little, soft, sweet, feminine girl----it hides her Virgo sun pretty well too.I can tell you no one has ever gone out of their way to help me because of my sweet, feminine soft Pisces sun.THey can't even see it!My girls Virgo sun gives them a lot more character then people see while people expect more character from me than I truly have.Camouflage that's what it is.IP: Logged |

Brunhilde, I know what you mean... I have a Leo Asc. that couldn't be more different from my Cancer Sun. The Sun and the Moon are complete opposites and don't ever meet and blend together... Hence these two aspects of my personality don't blend as well. I often appear happy and sunny and self-confident, but I'm very insecure inside. Although my Scorp Moon does help me very much with that. But it's sometimes very difficult to live with, that day/night ambivalence of my personality. morgana IP: Logged |

Hi Amigifted! The natal chart is drawn up with the earth as the centre. So all the planets in the chart are as seen from earth. The earth is therefore not one of the planets in the natal chart. Let me know if you need any more info! IP: Logged |

Hello! If your ascendant is sending out a 'faux' message of who you are than isn't it attracting the wrong people?People who once they get to know you go 'wait a minute that's not who I thought you were!' and then leave? I am always amazed at the ransformation that happens when my Aquarian hubby and I go out. He becomes this fun, gregarious and very fiery man---his Sagittarius ascendant!I become this cool, reserved, sarcastic and blasé, ready for anything kind of person---fun couple ,hein?Thing is that,s not what he expected and that's not what I expected. He got soft, mother Earth Pisces and I got rebel, independent Aquarius. Our exterior personna does not match our true reality.Makes me very wary of accepting the first impression unless it's only a superficial connection. Very interesting string. Good job, Moonshadow. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

Hi Brunhilde!I wouldn't say your rising sign is "fake". It is definately part of who you are. You incorporate this into your peronality. Imagine if your aquarian husband was always aloof and reserved like most aqaurians are. He will probably never take the chances his sag asc lets him take. It is like an opening, a portal that others can step through to get to "YOU" on the deeper levels. I do not think that you can ever attract the "wrong" people as anyone who comes into your life is there for a reason. IP: Logged |

THanks I like the way you put that. I agree. I am Aquarius with Scorpio Asc and I think it adds just the right amount of emotional depth to my Aquarian nature ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

How can I get some of that? (emotional depth, that is) I think my Gemini Asc. leads me to talk without thinking half the time. Er...most of the time...IP: Logged |

Hello!Your ascendant gives you your chart ruler and its placement is significant how?Mine is Scorpio therefore Pluto and Mars---the first is ni the 9th House in Virgo and Mars is in Gemini the 7th house.Chart ruler means the areas in our lives that take major precedence over the rest of the chart?I say this because my need and quest for a continuous education as well as my relationships(as in marriage) seem to have been the areas that have asked the most of me in my Life. So the chart ruler is the main focus of the chart?I've never looked into it that way is this close? p.s. very informative postings ...helps to get hands on examples of different charts by the people themselves. i think im going to try to invoke some of that scorpio asc sexiness into my life! i def have urges, quite contrary to my earth sun and moon, to be PROVACATIVE! hehe i think the ascendent is a good thing to have in scorpio, we get a lot of the depth and perception but less of the pain and internal struggle scorpio suns and moons seem to endure. Cool trippyshyt. You know I always feel bad to call you that- like I am calling you sh*t and I would never think that of you. So I will call you trippy from now on if that's cool with you!Oxy you have emotional depth woman! you have strong deep emotions I know you do, you just don't bother with anything superficial so in this world which can be very superficial you may "seem" lacking of emotion but you're not, you are just true to what you feel. Oh and btw I talk all the time and my mind hasn't caught up yet and then I realize I talked alot. Probably my gem moon and your gem asc. I just hope my posting is not like my talking ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |
