Hi there lady(ies) (and the very few fellas lol)
I was wondering on something,
this is just regarding synastry,

Are there any indicators in synastry that would point to someone who, say, is chronically unwilling to commit, but if there is such and such factor they might be more inclined?

Like me for example I find Saturn conjunctions are the only glue that will hold me, but I feel rebellious toward them at the same time no matter what they touch off.

Thoughts???

Also any famous couples that involve committed bachelor(ette)? Id like to look at their synastry too but can't think of any off the top?

Ty much!

JUNO is pretty 'notorious' for bachelor's settling. Or a really strong 7R link.

My husband never thought he'd marry again, and the first one was open, sexless, and not very legitimate. (Only for the purpose of not having a child out of wedlock.)

His 7R is 19° LIB URA, in his 2H -- exactly conjunct my SUN, almost to the minute.

He thought he'd continue playing the field for the rest of his life. Nope.

I think I also have something hitting his JUNO-MOON conjunction. Might be my NEP (7R).

But that's typically what you'd see: JUNO, (SATURN, definitely) and a very activated 7H or 7R.

That's a complex topic, Lonake. Nice idea of a thread!
Astrology-unrelated: I think it depends on the kind of bachelor we're talking about. Some are hopeless. I mean, for life. But many of them give themselves a period (it may even be a conscious plan) of "experiences" and settle at the very last moment (age-related) to benefit from a couple in their senior years and/or have children. Some take this step only as a facade, and keep both their new wife/children and their old ways (double life). So the first thing would be to identify which is which. I'm talking about a real bachelor at heart here - I don't think a real bachelor at heart is the "falling in love" type, so I kind of reject this idea of such a person changing their ways because they fall madly in love with someone. The tendency to fall in love starts early in life and it's like a muscle, it needs practice. I think if we meet someone who hasn't been in love until they're 40, it's unlikely they'll do it at 50 or something. Of course, there must be exceptions, but I see this is a general rule somehow.

It would be interesting to study some famous cases, I'll think about some examples.

I'll also think about the astrology of your question and give it a proper answer.

Thanks for posting.

Gemini Moon square Pisces Venus in the 11th, eww
DSC and 8th house ruler in the 5th conjunct Uranus, woohoo
5th house ruler in Aquarius
Venus conjunct Chiron
SN conjunct Uranus
Unaspected Saturn in detriment opposite Valentine
Sagittarius Juno
NN conjunct Venus...they say it tends to cause issues, like looking for the perfect love and dropping what doesn't seem to be it
Venus opposite Uranus widely
Venus trine Neptune...self-delusion? unrealistic expectations?
air heavy
Saturn, Neptune and Pluto elemental singletons
Moon-Venus-Pluto t-square

He might really believe he can't find "the one". This Pisces Venus trine Neptune is enough lol.

Interesting. Great analysis, Cappy. Apart from the many "signs" Cappy noticed:

Saturn attracts my attention: peregrine (troubles with long-term things in general) and in 11th (popularity obsessed or hermit - these people often don't feel loved or are sensitive to any sign of rejection, the slightest, including facial expressions like lack of smile when you meet them; in turns, they can become obsessed with being popular, with "collecting" love signs from the others; casual encounters suit them well because it's the first part when everyone is nice to each other; when the second part occurs - noticing differences/what we don't like about each other - they can't go through it).

This man is a rather romantic person. Sun conjunct 5th ruler on MC. Sun in Aqua is very picky, needs lot of time to acknowledge love and make a choice, but mates for life.

He also has a charming love t/square (Venus Pluto Moon) releasing in Juno -a mutable cross - an ideal woman in his heart and mind. Neptune quincunx Moon in this cross, so he must be surprised in a Neptunian way in his relationships, by the woman (pleasantly or delusion/illusion/disappointment). But I don't think this man is a hardcore bachelor. I bet the Princess's Sun is on his Juno

To answer your question, Lonake, in my view. I think in the person's chart, on a case by case basis, you will see, sometimes, the potential of a binding configuration. To me, this is reflected in geometric patterns.

The most binding configurations in synastry, IMO, are the Cross, the Kite and the Mystic Rectangle formations and their derivatives (such as the House). If that person has a geometry that is waiting to be completed (like a loose trine or a T/square), they will look for someone to complete those.

Now the trick here is that these configurations have to be, as I call them, "love" configurations. They must involve love planets and/or love rulers.

So they must contain Venus, Mars, Moon (maybe Sun too, although luminaries configurations are a bit different, unless the Sun is a love ruler). If someone has such a combo, they most likely look for love completion in this life, for a fulfilling love relationship and they have the "framework" for it (of course, not all people have geometric charts, some people have condensed charts that need to be evaluated a bit differently).

But I think if someone has such a love config in his chart, despite him/her being a long-term bachelor, chances are, with the proper person, he will be "caught".

Examples of love geometric config in a natal chart:

Venus trine Neptune, Mars trine Pluto, any trine involving love planets/rulers

GT between Mars Pluto Venus or Venus Moon Mars or other GT involving love planets

A Wedge with love planets

but I guess the most compelling are the love square formations: square or T/square (especially on the fixed axis). These people are most likely the ones compelled to find true love and their TF lol

So square between Venus and Mars, Pluto, Neptune, etc.

T square involving love planets

Not ALL planets in the config have to be love planets, of course, one or two are enough to have a love config.

And my Moon not far from his IC/Sun...hm...is he dark-haired? How old did you say he was?

Don't tempt me, sis ...hm...what a tempting description! more than tempting I'll put him on my list hahahaha (look at my Mars in Libra rearing its head)

Huh! About those hopeless women...I'd ask my sister to show me some moves, she's a green belt...or maybe ask Cappy to perform one of her dark spells

I can offer myself as an example. xD

I have Aquarius on the cusp of the 7th house, its ruler Uranus is in Scorpio.
7th house in Aquarius is kind of famous for the no commitment thing.
And the ruler of my 5th house of romance is Mars in Sagittarius, a love traveler.

So romance yeah, but only the deepest passionate love will make me want to commit. I have no desire for any other kind of traditional commitment or even marriage. Every time we discussed this when we were romantic starry-eyed teens, I was like "marriage? meh! only if I find a man I want to be with beyond death". Lol, I have Mercury in Scorpio so dramatic speech is dramatic.

Oh I forgot. Famous couples.
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin. He's a notorious bachelor yet he decided to marry her. I need to figure out how to post charts but I think their synastry might provide an interesting example.

Your Mars is right on his South Node/ Jupiter- Chiron/Venus opposition! Your Eros is smack on his ASC. Your huge Virgo/Libra stellium unloads into his 5th house. ( his 5th house is in Virgo, mind you. Picky, picky) Your AsC is in his 8th house so he would find you sexeeeey!

But

Your Sun and Venus are unaspected by him. Sorry for the bad news, sis.
